The question is: Which is the fastest growing?
Baseball has been international for a lot of years. It's not even an American sport any more with Latin American teams playing it, the Asian countries playing it, and the World Baseball Classic. Look at any Major League Baseball roster and you won't find as many Americans as you will Japanese, Venezuelan, Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and so on. It's insanely popular and can't grow, except into Europe.
Basketball is the fastest growing international sport. Other countries have teams now that can compete with Americans at the Olympics. Other countries have good leagues, like Argentina, Spain, Holland, and Turkey. These countries are developing players and some are slowly making it into the NBA nowadays. It's still dominated by Americans but slowly and surely, it's growing internationally.
American football won't be popular for many years. They're behind the power curve because it's an expensive sport and tough to organize. basketball is less expensive and easier.
