Yes I have been in a hailstorm once or twice in my life, I hate storms really badly. I'm not scared of them or anything, I just really dislike them, possibly because of me either getting wet or the constant noise that follows.

It usually hails reasonably at least once a year where I live. I've never been outside when one appeared. The biggest hailstone I've seen is about 1.5" in diameter.

I have experienced hail before, but never have I been at risk of injury from it. Seeing how big hail can become is a scary thought.

Many times. They happen all the time here, but surprisingly, they aren't usually all that bad. They can be destructive and unpleasant, but to say they all are would be an exageration for sure. I have seen them absolutely destroy cars, but typically they don't do much more than leave a dent. As for hurting, yes, they can if the hail stones are big enough, the smaller ones sting at best. Though I will say it can be kind of spooky to have ice start falling out of the sky in ninety degree weather. Can you say tornado?

I have a few times but thankfully I was inside at the time it happened. It was pretty scary though, we thought it meant a tornado was coming since it got so dark out. 

Some times when we're in one you can hear it bouncing off the windows and I've seen it dent up mobile homes pretty bad in the past as well. It's crazy but rare here.
