Introduction
Sorry! I couldn't help it with the title XD
Hello and welcome to my review of Street Fighter 2, Champion Edition. This game was actually the very game that turned me into a gamer and while I still to this day kind of suck at Street Fighter games, I still very much play them.
Difficulty-8 out of 10
The game doesn't exactly have a standard hardness to it, since it's the type of game where you can go to option menu and adjust it manually, however even if you set the game to very easy, the game is fixated to get slightly harder for every character you defeat. This game can still give pro's a run for there money at times, because if it's not Bison's over powered Psycho Crusher, Sagat is standing in one spot spamming you with projectiles and than has the nerve to laugh at you when he beats you.
Addictiveness-9 out of 10
If you love classic beat down style games, than you are in the right place with street fight. A series that has made beat downs famous. After all these were the types of games you went to the arcade for as a kid to throw away your parents hard earned quarters and the better you become, the hooked you become making it worth the spare change.
Depth-7 out of 10
There's not much in this area to cover, since this is a beat down game. Your only real main objective is to defeat your enemy in two rounds, beside bonus rounds where you punch brick walls and beat up A Honda. Not E.Honda! I mean a actual car! Also since this is Special Edition Street Fighter 2, you are given access to play "The 4 kings", Bison,Vega,Balrog and Sagat. The four main bosses you wouldn't be able to in standard Street Fighter 2.
Graphics-10 out of 10
The graphics are pretty awesome. It's the Super Nintendo, so of course the look and details would be well put together, but that's not to give Nintendo all the credit as Sega did a awesome job with the look of these game as well.
Sound-10 out of 10
Lets be honest here. Who doesn't or didn't love the sound of the announcers voice shouting "Round 1..Fight!" or the old so sweet sound of victory "You win! Perfect!". Not to mention the music which both Nintendo and Sega did justice for Street Fighter on the home systems away from the arcades. The music was so good, it produced the perfect theme which Guile uses, because it simply goes with everything!
Story-10 out of 10
This story takes place after the original Street Fighter game with Street Fighter Alpha being the middle story, that continues the events after Ryu defeated previous champion Sagat. Bison the dictator of Shadaloo is trying to use the strongest fighters in the world for plans of world domination. His primary target is Ryu who holds a power level that far succeeds the average fighter. The only issue is, it's hard to track down Ryu since hes always on the move. If this game was going off Street Fighter 2 the animated movie, Bison would be using Ken to track him down, but since the movie is not really cannon to the games, I can't fully give all the details for Street Fighter 2. However, despite the fact every character has they're own ending, you can assume since Ryu is the main hero of Street Fighter his story is cannon. Much like Jin is for say Tekken 3.
