Dissections. How I could not stand them. The formaldehyde was absolutely nasty smelling. We had to do three in seventh grade: the giant earth worm, the frog, and the starfish. The worst was probably the frog. I was partners with a good friend of mine, and we thought it was going to be at least mildly enjoyable. We were wrong. It was the first dissection we did, and we didn't even get scalpels. What the heck is that? We got these really wimpy scissors that were barely even sharp. The worst part about the frog dissection was that we had to somehow remove the brain from the skull in order to get full credit. The problem is that you cannot damage the brain, otherwise, you lose points. So of course, the only way we could even penetrate the skull was by stabbing in, and damaging the brain.  Unfortunately, we could not even remove the brain, and lost even more points as a result. The other two dissections were not nearly as bad, but they still were not pleasant.

I did not take biology yet but I did dissect a frog in grade 10 science. It was pretty fun but the stench was horrid, gagged a few times but after about 5 minutes or so it was fine. The worst part was having to open up the stomach, found like 5 bugs in the stomach, did I mention I'm freaked out by bugs. But I did find it actually really interesting to physically see and get to feel what the insides of another living organism was like. Some parts of the skin was really hard to cut off and I ended up damaging some things I wasn't supposed to and got frog juice (whatever it is) all over me but all in all it was a good experience and a lot of fun to. Also totally epic seeing the expression on the girls faces when I grabbed the frog and spread its arms out saying "It only wants to be friends, cmon give ol kermit a hug." yes I have the mind of a child and yes I am proud of it.

No frogs, but we dissected a squid one year ago, and a few days ago we dissected a fish. Both smelled horrible, one hallway in the school was just stinking... It was gross at first, but you'll get used to it. And it's fascinating to see the organs of fish. Our biology teacher also said we are going to dissect the hart of a cow :O

I've never dissected a frog before. I have dissected a fish before in Biology, it smelled awful, but it was cool. Some poor girl didn't have the stomach for it and once she opened up the fish... I think you can guess what happened next.

It's... Strange. The second time I did this, I got a female, and there were a ton of eggs. It is a disturbing process of dissecting... But I like it. I got to rip open another animal
