"Pokémon X & Y may have only just hit the 3DS, but there are people out there who want more — namely remakes of Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire.
There have been calls from fans for Game Freak and Nintendo to update these classic entries, and if mysterious hints left in X & Y are anything to go by, the wait might not be that long.
Twitter account Operation Hoenn (for those who don't know, Hoenn is the region in which the Ruby & Sapphire are set) — which is dedicated to pestering Nintendo into remaking Ruby & Sapphire — has spotted some references in Pokémon X & Y which suggest that Game Freak is up to something."

The first pic shows your character speaking to someone.  That other person says, "Kalos is really cool, but you should check out my region!  There's this facility that you wouldn't believe...ah, nevermind.  You'll see it in due time."  The next pic is even more engaging.  "The 40th wedding anniversarry is the ruby anniverssary, and the 45th is the sapphire aniverssary."  The next two pics state locations from the Hoenn region.  "Our first vacation was at the Oceanic Muesuem!"  "Where I come from, we have a hot spring right next to the Pokemon Center.  It's incredible!"

 Of course, this could just be a case of Game Freak playfully referencing past entries in the series, but it could also be a hint of the next Pokémon project. Needless to say, it's gotten some fans very excited indeed — what do you think?

I guess that would be cool...a 3D Hoenn region. If they both are given bonuses, like all the cool extra features in X and Y, then it would be nice. 

I am not sure I would actually spend any money just on a remake, since I have played the originals quite a lot, and it's not going to be all that spectacular. It's very cool though, just not a necessity, like X and Y are to others.

I would be surprised if this will happen. Even though I played Pokémon Emerald instead, this was still a fun game. If they do remake this game, they need to improve it such as more Pokémon's, bigger areas, etc. I hope this does happen.

unova... 4 games, 2 original, 2 hidden sequels
kalos... 2 games just came out
see a pattern? no one uses gameboy anymore, and hoenn is next on the list. only seems natural.

I'd love this! It's not my favorite generation, but it's nice to have a remake for this. Especially with the music. 

I remember there being a few hoenn references in black and white and quite a few people thought that it would be the next game coming on the DS. Unfortunately there was no ruby and sapphire remakes for that console, so would we have to wait for the next... Yes it seems likely. 
The references in this were huge and I certainly think that Game Freak are up to something. They usually have one remake per console so that would almost make it obvious to the future of pokemon. They have released the remakes after the console debuts so I think we will be seeing ruby and sapphire one more time pretty soon!
I guess I will buy it because Hoenn is my second favourite region before Johto. I have only borrowed X so I could get a taste of the new features. To see them in a Hoenn game will be great, not forgetting that it should be as 3D as X and Y!

I would love a Ruby and Sapphire remake because I loved those games so much, and I would appreciate playing those in X and Y graphics, as that would be the best looking Pokémon game that will exist until the 7th or 8th Generation of Pokémon.

I'd be really surprised if it happened as well... BUT.. I'd also kinda be happy.  I love playing Pokemon, and it's a game I can pick up and put down without worry of being 'stuck' somewhere or in a riveting part of the plot.  (For some of us, this can be good).  In other words, it truly is a 'play at your leisure' type of thing.  I think the graphics on the 3DS are breathtaking, so it'd be nice to see another pokemon game using the same model as the newer ones.  It'd also make for a fun comparison between the old and the new.
