I think I would like to know exactly when I'm going to die. That way I could do almost anything I want to without worrying if I'm going to die because of it and have everything planned and ready to go before I "go". I don't think I'd end up obsessing over when I'd die, I think I'd just forget about it most days and get on with my life.

I believe in a randomness of physical objects in our universe at a quantum level which means that the physical objects in our lives can be random.

That basically means that I don't believe in fate or a destined date of death. That's different from free will which I don't believe in.

If somehow fate was real, then I would like to know the date, since I couldn't possibly die before then.

There's so many logical loopholes with both fate existing and knowing the date of death that I'm trying not to think about it too much.

I honestly think I will die at the age of 40-60.... But I don't mind that too much... I am 13, but I would mind if... Okay, maybe a little bit.

Thought it would frighten me and it could as well change me forever I would like to know. Mainly so that I could plan what to do and when. Also it could mean I could do life threatening things if my fate is already decided, I could know I would survive doing certain dangerous activities.

Well, I don't really believe in pre-destiny so this question hasn't really popped in my head before. If pre-destiny did exist, however, I wouldn't want to know the date of my death. It'd be like knowing the end of a good book is nearing and, because it's reality and time stops for no one, you cant put the book down and prolong finishing it. I don't want to know when my character is killed off, when I begin the final chapter of life. Being ignorant of ones death date keeps one sane. Death is inevitable, it happens to every living thing, so why know the exact date if it is inevitable? Imagine knowing when your on your last day and what that would feel like. You should able live life without knowing your expiration date in my opinion.

Probably not, because I would much rather enjoy living the rest of my life, rather than live every single day counting down to that one fateful day when it actually happens. I think it would be better to know the cause of my death so I can be more aware and ready for it, but for an exact date of death, I think I will be alright. I can see where alex is coming from when he says that he would like to get everything important done in his life before it happens, which is good, but I don't think I would truly enjoy life if I am anticipating my death every single day.

This is a good question though.

Definitely not. Instead of living life to the fullest once knowing I'd have 2 months left for instance, I'd probably spend my last days crying and trying to cling onto my loved ones. And I'd probably do a lot of drugs and drinking because what would it matter to me at that point? I wouldn't even want to know the exact year or decade, because acknowledging the possibility of dropping dead every single second would make me insane. If I'm to die, let's say from unnatural reasons let it hit me like I never knew what was gonna happen. And if it's cancer (like it usually is in my family) that kills me, let me prepare for death then, not twenty years before it even happens.

I don't think I'd want to know. I mean, it'd be good to be able to have things in order, but the pressure that I would feel might cause me to go insane before that date ever comes around. Also, it takes away from the thrill of life! If you know that mountain climbing could kill you, but you do it anyway, wouldn't that be more fun than knowing that there is no way this mountain will kill you, as your death date is past it? I admit to being a bit of a thrill seeker, so this won't apply to everyone, but consider the concept at least. Perhaps I'd lead a more productive life, but I wouldn't want to give up all of my happiness and contentment for a death date.

Why not I'll forget it anyway. I am not scared of dying so I wouldn't really mind.  I'm not bothered when I die.

No I wouldn't because if I did I wouldn't be able to do half of the crazy and fun stuff I've done in my life. I'm a really shy person and the thought that any day could be the last day I get to continue living is the thing that makes me outgoing and the thing that makes me able to do the things I fear most. Also I'm the lazy type of person that likes to put stuff off to the last minute and if I knew when I was going to die I would just continue to put important stuff off that could have positively affected my life. I would also never be able to tell my family about the day I would die because of the way they would react, and the guilt from not telling would eat me up inside and even if I ever where to tell them the emotions would also make me feel bad.

While many people here have made good arguments, I'm pretty certain I would NOT want to know the date or time of my death.  If so, it'd be something always over my head, and life would be pretty hopeless, knowing that date couldn't be affected or changed.  It's actually a subject of interest in a novel I reviewed here once called "Einstein's Dreams".  If you haven't read it, you really should. It's absolutely amazing, and it's a quick, easy read.

I wouldn't want to know the time of my death. It would make my life way more difficult to live. Just live like you're going to die soon, but hope that you'll live a long fulfilling life.

I wouldn't want to know because where's the fun in that? Although, I would like to know how I would die rather than know the date of my death.

Hmm, what a strange question(but not as strange as many others). I would have to say no y=to your question because I don't want to know and if I found out about it I would go crazy and may even have nervous brake downs.

Assuming that it were possible to know the exact date of my death, I would be happier knowing when, so that I could do what I wanted to get done before I died. If my date of death was in the near future, I would work much quicker towards achieving what I want before I expire. If it were, however, in the distant future, I would not worry about it too much, and I would proceed as I normally do, but it would probably feel as if time were moving faster than usual. Not that big a deal. It would also be nice to know how I would die, so that I would know what to expect, as well as knowing if I should off myself early in the event that I were to die by extraordinarily painful methods.

No I would not like to know mostly due to my Christian beliefs. I believe it is not my place to know the exact date. However, if I had a very bad illness I would like to know how much longer did doctors think I had left.

No, not really. It would be little stressful and boring to know when your going to die, but still you don't know how it will happen and you might think these thinks so much that you forgot to live your life as it's fullest.

Definitely not!

That would be really frightening to know when I am going to die.
It would take all the fun out of life because after knowing it I would avoid everything and I would not live life to the fullest.
I would sit inside the house everyday, feeling paranoid of everything around me.
Everyday I would wake up and be reminded of that date and shiver in fear.

I would actually like to know the date of my own death. I would want to know the date of my own death because it would allow me to do and organize all the things I want to do before I die. Knowing the date of my own death would actually benefit me, knowing the date would allow me to basically choose how I want to die because I could influence the event that caused my death.

It's hard... but I'll say no.
The way I'm living right now, I have no clue when I'll die. Yet, I'm perfectly content. I would probably stress out unnecessarily, too, depending on when I actually do die.
The only thing I would regret with this choice is not being able to say good bye...
