Which is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend near you

I've experienced both before. Both can hurt just as much. But since I've had to deal with it more often than not, I'd say Losing contact with a friend close to you. Because when a friend moves away, they feel the same way. But it's comforting to know they will make new ones, and that they'll remember me. But the other way around, they kind of ditch you, on purpose. So it's a bit more painful.

Then I have had friends who move away or who are a far distance from me but I think it's better because at least they didn't ditch you and they are doing there best to keep up with you and in contact. I just feel like when a friend who is near you does that it's wrong and painful and I've learned friends like that are just not true friends.

I believe it is worse to have a close friend lose connection with you. Because you could see them fairly often and if you were once friends it can be very awkward  to talk to or whatever.

While both options sucks, I would say losing touch with a good is worse. When a friend moves your still friends but its just harder to contact that person. When you lose touch with a friend its like breaking up with a girl, its just weird see them when you shared so many memories together and now you barely talk to them without going to an awkward silence.

Both. I cant stand losing a close friend. I might go crazy.....become depressed for a day or two. Then try to move on...then repeat the process a few months..because of memories.

It is kind of hard for me to answer because I have had both happen to me. My first girlfriend that I had in High school me and her liked each other but she moved away thus ending the relationship. My second girlfriend also in High School ended up moving away. Now what also was sad is due to a really bad situation that was beyond my control. I lost friends that were here in my town. That really hurt well to be honest they both hurt.
