Sometimes when I try to like a post it just brings me back to the first page of the thread. It is not that I reached my limit, because I can like other posts. Anyone know why? Anyone else have this problem?

Well, I have a question. After it redirects you to the first page of the thread, have you ever checked to see if it actually liked the post? I assume you have, but just in case you haven't...

goodboy : Yeah I have checked lol. I am not that dumb. I just tried to like one of your posts, in the attack user thread thing, but the same thing happened. Did you get a notification or anything about it?

tgags123 : Yeah, this happens to me a lot. I guess you just have to get lucky when you do these.  I do go back to see and it doesn't like them. It gets really annoying.

This happens to me a few times too. I do not understand why, because I have not reached my limit for today, and I tried liking someone's post, but wham-oh back to the first page. I do check, that's the first thing I do.

Ah, I see. I realized you were smart enough to check, don't worry. xD And, no, I didn't get a like notification.

But before I go to test, have you tried to like it again after being redirected? And just to be sure, you are allowed to like more after the redirection?

goodboy : Yes I have tried liking them again, and the same thing happens. And yes, I can like more things, just not that particular post.

Okay, I tried it as well. It redirected me back to the first page, which isn't a good sign, unless you got a notification for it.

I'm just going to assume it's a little glitch we have in big threads. What causes it is pretty much beyond me though, sorry.

I just tested this out, and I came up with a theory;

You can't like posts that are not in the first page of the thread.

I tried to like several posts on the second page of Singelli's Epic Part 2 thread, but it didn't work. I tried to like the very first post of that thread, and it worked perfectly.

Well, we still need more evidence. I'm not sure if it would work for all threads since I only tried Singelli's own. Have you ever succeeded in liking a post that isn't on the first page?

Mistress : I don't remember. All I know is that this problem only happens when it is a long thread with a lot of posts.

Okay, I just tried it again on another of Singelli's threads, and I noticed the difference in urls;

In the A Lot More Singelli Love thread, I tried to like a post on the third page. Specifically this post. However, as you can see, that post doesn't have any likes on it. So my effort to like it was fruitless.

When I went to like the very first post of that thread, I noticed that the url after I liked that post was different from the url I got when I tried to like the post on the third page.

This is the url I got for liking the very first post (the one that worked)

And this is the url I got after trying to like the post on the third page (the one that failed)

I get the same results for every other thread I tried to like that isn't on the first page.

I noticed this 'glitch' so many times, but I always assumed it was because I ran out of likes, so I stopped trying to like posts once it happened to me! O.o Like suggested in this thread, I tried going back to the post to see if it was liked, or liking it again. I've also been able to like things that were not on the first page, so I know that's not the issue.

Glad someone posted about it, because I never would have thought there was a glitch.

You're an amazing trouble-shooter, you know that? I don't know if what you mentioned is really what's causing the issue, but I'm pretty sure I never would have thought about looking at the urls. lol

I do know that the first url you gave though, is simply a link to the DIRECT post which was liked. That's because once you like a post, you get redirected to that post.


EDIT:  Just tried something not on a first page, and you're right.. got booted to the first page. Maybe I'm remembering wrong?  I really thought I had liked things on pages other than the first...

I think you might be right about the non-first page deal. I just tried several and couldn't like things on another page.  But then tried a first page post and had no problems.

I will love to help and see what's wrong, but I don't know how to rate a post, lol. Can someone teach me how, and please try to  use screenshoots, make a video, or something, because I can't figure it out....

I had this problem as well. Glad I wasn't the only person that noticed it.

Matthew2321 : Look at the left side of your post. Right under where it says how much Viz you have, there will be a 'Like' and a 'Dislike' option. That's how you rate posts.

If you can't see it at all, then go to Edit Profiles and Settings and scroll all the way down to Thread Layout. Set it to 'Regular' and it should work.
