DittoDude44 here with review time, 5:20 to 6:30. Today I will be reviewing Pokemon Red for the Game Boy Color. So, withhout further ado, let us get started. (this is not going to be categories, this is going to be 2 big paragraphs)
Well, pokemon red has not caught my attention, it is not a good game, nor a bad game. It is hard to make a decision on this. It is an okay game, I just do not play it as much as others. But this game is a pokemon rpg in which you start out with a starter pokemon, Charmander (recommended for players that like their game hard), Squirtle (recommended for intermediate players), and last but not least, Bulbasaur (recommended for players that like the game super easy) and from there you use the pokemon to battle others and gain EXP. After you get your pokemon well trained, you can get more pokemon with poke balls. And you can train that one, and use it to battle others, catch one, and go from there by repeating that process,and you will have an epic team in no time. I guess I can say I like it some. Not the best, but some. Graphics, they are clear, but some towns are all one color, and it looks boring. Not the best I have seen around. Sound is not good. It was choppy for me, but it may be my PC. Depth is okay too, it is just like any other pokemon game. You build a team, elite four, champion, done. Difficulty, this game was really easy for me, and I used charmander. After you overgrind your pokemon, you will be hip to defeart anyone that blocks your path, if you do not over grind you will have a hard time in the beginning, because misty has a Starmie and Brock has an onix. Bulbasaur would be able to simply razor leaf them, and they are out of the game. Charmander usuall gets murdered by bubblebeam or rock throw. Squirtle, however, would be able to total Onix, but may have a hard time at misty, due to the same type matching problem that gives only a x1 hit. A critical hit with Squirtle's Tackle, may lay some dust on Starmie.
None of the categories were meant to go into detail, this is paragraphs, like a journal entry. Not something like "Graphics - 8 - Rating - Good - I liked the graphics because" and so forth. This is not like that, this one is different.
It is a good game I guess, I like it some. I like how this game has 151 pokemon in it, including legends. 151 is a lot of creations. I am inpressed with some of this game. I like the pokemon some of the gyms and I also like the elite 4. The Elite 4 in this game was pretty tough to beat, but not if you overgrind. Make sure your pokemon are around level 60-80 of you did that, that is overgrinding levels. 40-50 are not really overgrinded. What, I had a pokemon level 100 when I faced the elite four champion. I miss you, Arcanine. But yeah, the elite four are good in this game, challenging, I guess this is about it for this one. Not as long, but it will have to do. I have a lot to say for games I like, this one, is okay.
