So, I was reading a couple threads today. One from Divine Aurora about his confession to being a re-reg. But more significantly SuperCrash's quitting thread. In that thread in particular, people are in some agreement that the sight is dying, falling apart, melting, etc.?

But just because you and your friends are going inactive does not mean that the site is dying or going down. This might offend you a bit, but your circle is not some huge significant part of the site. That is just a fact. Even if all of your best friends leave here, it does not mean that it is the end of the board here. It will pick itself up again just as it has done about 6-7 times already. I have seen my original cycle go. I have seen this one go. I'll watch the next one come. But the site is not remotely dying.

rcarter2 : Thats true... My cycle is ending... It's as if a cycle has a set of active users, and then when their cycle ends, they leave, and another set of active users come in a new cycle... And I am not offended. Most of the vizzed elites are dead cycles... I'm gonna try my best to survive to the next cycle...

I agree and barathemos didn't make the confession thread, that was me. But as you stated the site is actually more active then what it has ever been in my opinion.

I actually typed up this long post in response to SuperCrash's thread, but it was closed before I had the chance to hit submit.  I just got a little sick and tired of the over-dramatic whining.  The small little group of friends consisting of younger users needs to stop thinking they are the only ones that make up the site.... or even make up an important part of the site.

I mean, SuperCrash has made like... THREE leaving threads?! To make another is really quite ridiculous and getting to be a case of 'boy who cried wolf'. And for others to respond "I have no reason to go on anymore!"  is continuing to push the line of idiocy.

Personally, I think the site only gets better when certain circles leave.  The people who stick around are the ones worth the time to get to know.

I even brought up the fact that "All my friends are leaving vizzed, OHMYGERSH MY LIFE WILL END" is just about the most ludicrous logic ever.  If the people living TRULY are your friends, they'll give you another way to keep in touch.  Facebook, email, or various chat services work just fine.  If those people leave and cut you off completely.... were they really friends to begin with?

If a true friend leaves vizzed... so what.  Keep in touch through other means, but don't create a big, dramatic scene over it.

Vizzed has hundreds of thousands of users and isn't going to 'die' because a few people leave.  Vizzed is one of the most successful and thriving sites I know.

I left the board for a while, but I came back.  I no longer feel like I fit in quite as much as I did before since many of my previous friends on here have moved on.  I have made great new friends now like Singelli and Eniitan, who are both exceedingly friendly people.  I think that people can get easily bored of the site if their friends don't keep in regular contact with them.  People have other lives outside of Vizzed, too.  I had to leave to work on my own life for a while.  I still have things to work on, but I'm able to post a decent amount now.

I was just about to make a thread like this because yes, this site isn't dying, new people will join. If anything, it's more active than it was before.

You do not think it is? People *coughReallygreatuserscoughcough* are leaving. I think it is not dying, 2 people leave? I have seen 7 leave in a day. 

I haven't personally thought the site was dying. But man..seeing all these confession threads and talks of leaving, and I mean no disrespect and i'm not trying to offend anyone at all, but it just kinda turned the day upside-down. I personally thought the site has been doing good and i've been getting a lot of my friends involved and really trying to pass the site's link around. 

I know I don't hold much weight in the site that is Vizzed and my name sure ain't big but i'm not really about that. I've been spending a lot of time in the Star Fox forum mostly. Over the past week or so i've seen new people join our forum for the Star Fox RPG Sword legion has going or at least view it when a new thread is thrown up for it. Heck, I see people getting more active and interested in what's going on here at Vizzed and i've certainly greeted a fair share of newbies to the forums and telling them they are more than welcome here.

I really don't believe Vizzed will really die or start to. This site has so much to offer people, i mean yeah it sucks when you make friends here and you part ways. It hurts, it makes you sad, but its not the end of the world, that's just life. If you stick around you could make new friends even and watch as the Site Staff and David put more and more into the game room. I can tell you I won't be leaving at all. I mean there will be times in life where someone has to go due to some really tough life issues but it doesn't mean they're gone forever. 

Vizzed, I think, will always stand strong as an awesome gaming site for all to join in on and play the things we loved as kids. So come on guys, cheer up some or at least try. I mean its Sunday for crying out loud, a last day of the wonderful weekend to relax. No need to have emotions and such take a wrong turn and let you enter the weekdays roughly. 

Basically what Zero said. I don't think the site is dying at all, it's just people think it is.

If it was dying, you'd only see like, 20 people online. But you DEFINITELY see more than 20 people online.

Just because people who you know on here are disappearing, doesn't mean a site is ending- it just means you need to power through it and survive the next cycle to make new friends. That's how Vizzed works- and how it will most likely work for the rest of its time.

Barathemos : Absolutely not. My question to you is what makes you think it is? I think I already know your answer. Everyone who is super active is leaving. The board is just not active anymore. There is stupid drama happening all the time. But again, there is a cycle. An establishment of really active members gets settled in and things are great. Slowly, a few of them start to be a little less inactive. Then the drama starts. Then people start leaving left and right. Every time, people start saying "The site is dying, the site is dying". They all pretty much leave. A very few select people decide to stick around. Then the whole thing repeats. I have seen 3 cycles, including this one. What is happening now is absolutely no different than the last 2 times I have seen it happen. So the question isn't "have I been seeing what has been happening?" The question is "Is there anything different about this cycle?" The answer is no. Like I said before. You haven't even been here a year and are so certain this site is dying. I have been here for around 1/3 of Vizzed's existence. Again, not trying to offend you, but I think my experience holds much more merit than yours on this matter.

Sword legion : Naw. Thread activity goes down during school, but that isn't really a part of what I am talking about in this instance. You could say that is part of a cycle, but not a significant part. There is a big difference in a community cycle ending and just low activity due to school. This is another cycle ending.

Well I have seen no evidence that this site is falling apart . Only Growing everyday .  But I am not the type of person who will sit and examine the faults of something . Just the good things .  So In my opinion Vizzed is a Good site for playing games and will continue growing as long as its users keep growing  

Awesome-Kid : On top of that, the board really is only a tiny portion of the activity here. About 90% of the activity is in the RGR, not the forum. And that activity is only growing. The forum has very little to do with the success of the site.
