Inspired by my 'dare' thread, I've just got to ask... which kinds of olives are your favorite? I've only had three myself, so if someone thinks of one for me to add, I'll push it on up in the poll.

However, in order for this thread to have some substance, I'm going to ask an additional question. What kind of dish do you like to have the olives on? As in, what dish goes -perfectly- with your chosen olive?

As for me.. I have to go with black olives. I ADORE green olives, but they're more of an occasional luxury for me. It's nearly impossible to eat more than a couple at a time, and they get rather boring rather quickly.

Greek olives are great, but not enough substance and too much pit.

So black olives do the trick for me. I absolutely LOVE black olives in any dish with refried beans. It's like refried beans were invented just for black olives. Stuff that mixture into a burrito or taco and I'll be your best friend forever.

I love olives, Green or Black! Though since the Green ones tend to be more salty I had to vote for them since it comes off with more taste. I can not comment on Greek olives since I have actually never tried them! Olives go well on pizza as I found out when I was a vegetarian when I was younger. In a way it is a vegetarian substitute for anchovies since they are both rather slaty. Even though I went against what I was brought up with to be vegetarian, I still prefer olives!
