So I  personally believe reincarnation is possible,
I just wanted to ask everyone else what they think about this quote, and I want to see how you guys interpret it.
Me, I believe that if energy cannot be destroyed, not created, then that must mean that our energy, our conscious energy(or soul) must live on in some way after we die and it quite possibly transfers to another form of life after we die. Although I really don't know if I believe people reincarnate as humans or animals or something else, I believe our soul lives on in some way. So death really is not the end, but a new beginning of something totally different, though I can have no idea what that something is!

So what do the rest of you think/believe? Let me know, my mind is open to what you all have to say :] 

SelenaSapphayre17 : I believe that death is just a separation of spirit and body, and that our spirit lives on after death.  In fact, one of the scriptures of my church states that "all spirit is matter, but it is more refined or pure".  Perhaps our spirit is made up of light particles or something?  We feel physically worse when we do something morally wrong.  Only by doing our best to make the wrongs right again can we feel better.  Perhaps our spirits leave our bodies to some degree when we do something wrong?  

One can relate this principle that a body in motion tends to stay in motion, but a body at rest tends to stay at rest.  When we are lazy, we lose light and knowledge we've gained.  When we are industrious, we gain more light and knowledge.  

However, perhaps we feel sick because our spirits cannot leave our bodies, but want to when we do something wrong.  Whatever the answer is, I do know that we have a spirit and will be resurrected in perfect bodies.

This comes from my belief in God and his Son, Jesus Christ, but mostly through my belief that the Atonement is what allows us to do this.  Jesus' Resurrection allowed Him to understand death and how to succor us from it.  If He had not allowed himself to die, then we could not be resurrected as He was.  The other part of the Atonement was that He took upon Him our sins and infirmities so that He could understand how to redeem us from those.  Repentance is getting to know Christ through positive outlook and good works.

These are my beliefs.

The problem about this is that this quote (also known as 1st law of Thermodynamics) is talking about matter. You are referring to something that is spiritual, which is not of matter.

Furthermore, the idea of reincarnation has a loophole that there is no beginning.

That refers to atomic energy. E.g. burning oil doesent destroy oil, it changes its state. When you die your body isnt destroyeddper say, but transformed. Ifyoulook at the life around you, grass, plants, worms, moles, whatever. They all thrive off the energy we put back into the earth.
Kind of like the fil avatar, if youve seen it.

I've always considered the soul as a type of energy that we simply cannot measure or quantify yet.

If you think that's crazy, think about this for a second; about 100 years ago if you went up to someone and mentioned the words "infrared" or "ultraviolet", you'd be locked up in an asylum quicker than you could say "Marie Curie".

We are still finding different types of energy in this world, many of which are invisible to the naked eye.

We could easily sit here all month and still not come to a definitive answer.

Well, the energy that makes up your physical body goes on. Your cells break down. The moisture evaporates. The complex compounds that you are made up degrade back into their separate atoms. You are eaten by fungi, animals, some bacteria, etc. A lot of the nutrients that you were made of (especially Nitrogen) is consumed by plants. All of those things that absorbed your energy makes other things with it. All the bits of energy that made you up continues to get passed from thing to thing to thing. So in a sense, you do indeed become one with the Earth again. The energy that made you was energy acquired from something else that got it from something else that....... you get the point. Our energy is something that constantly gets passed around again and again. When you die, little bits and pieces of your energy will be a part of an endless amount of different things. Some day, some of your energy might make it out of this planet and be a part of something else in a distant place.

But reincarnation is more of a spiritual thing .Your whole spirit lives on in a new physical form. But your spirit is undivided, unbroken, and unchanged. What made you you still exists on as a whole. That concept does not really apply here. But if it turns out that every religion out there ends up being wrong and there is no afterlife, I like to think that it is spiritual in itself to have an uncountable amount of bits of your energy exists in a countless amount of things alive and not alive when you are gone. Truly being one with the planet that you came from. You don't have to have a religious view to have a spiritual view.

there is no reincarnation. the fact is that our consciousness is nothing more then electrical signals traveling through our body and brain, and the brain turning those signals into something we can understand. when you die, you die. its done. your energy will remain, but its not really energy in the sense of some magical floating aura. the energy, that gets broken down and built up into and with electricity's help, is your body. the muscles tissue, bones, blood, etc. that gets broken down by various factors like animals and the elements, and your energy converts into something else, but that energy will never be "you" again.

there is no "you" once you die. so live your life now, and when you have regrets, cast them aside. there is nothing waiting for you after this.
