There is a trend going on between companies in which they are releasing both the game's physical and digital copies, especially Nintendo. I prefer owning the physical version, while the digital version is very practical and stealing proof (unless they steal your whole system), owning a game and actually having it stored on a shelf filled with tons of games gives me a much more satisfactory feeling. But that's my opinion, I would like to hear what's on other people's mind: Digital or Physical?

Well, hm...

Eh, both.

There are advantages to both, really. This sort of reminds me of the new Phoenix Wright game out this fall. The debate over the fact it's digital is ridiculous. People will only buy it of they make it physical. It's stupid.  Physical AND digital have advantages. It's hard to steal a digital copy, and it's much secure. Plus, the console has added features that help just for digital copies.

The physical copy is a bit less secure, but you can play it on any console with ease. Pop it out, put it in.

I prefer digital. It's a bit more... well, better. But both are fine.

I prefer having the physical version of a game because the digital version usually always stays the same price but for a physcial game you can get a cheaper price in a store.

I like physical copies better. I've always had them, so it's more natural for me.

To my knowledge, you can't sell or trade digital copies. So this is the main reason why I prefer physicals. Also, systems are more easily stolen than physical games. If you think about the scenario; a thief would most likely steal a system over a single game because the system has more value than the games. So if the digital copy is in the system, then the game would be stolen along with the system, whether the thief intended to steal the game or not.

I've always prefer having the physical copy. Especially with handhelds, because my family has multiple systems, so digital would be a terrible choice. Something about owning the whole case feels more like the game is yours. Plus, you can always take them to somebody else's house, which is really useful.
And keeping all my old game cases makes my video games feel like a collection once I'm done with them, instead of a waste of hard drive space. Although there are good reasons to go with digital, I probably won't be making the switch anytime soon.

Theres a very simple reason to go for physical copys.
You only have to install about 2gb max on your hdd. If you install the digital copy it can be as much as 16gb. I cant be doing with that.

Physical copy, no contest.
Patar put it very well, in saying that in a house with multiple consoles or handhelds, digital copies are just a bad idea. I also like Physical copies because an OS can crash or a console or handheld can goof up. Simply put, I could buy $500 worth of digital games, then one glitch occurs, and I lose all of them. I would have to buy all of them over again (probably would just do without). Whereas physical copies remain unaffected if my system goofs. Buy a new system or fix the problem, and presto! Instant game access again. That's just me, though.

I would choose physical copies over digital copies any day. I mean yeah it is nice to have something on a system that you can choose to play at any time and so on and so forth but physical copies of a game can mean so much more to  a person, I know they do to me. When I own a game physically its something to hold on to, something with value instead of it just being there and virtual. Its something you can put in a room somewhere like a shelf, take a step back, and look at what you have.
I for one do just that. From my old NES games to Xbox I stand back proudly and look my games over. I get to see where I first started with gaming and where I stand now. Each game holds memories that are dear to me where most people, or parents, would look at you and say you blew your money on something worthless.

Well that is something i'd be willing to argue to my grave honestly, heheh. But its a sense of pride I have as a gamer to see what I own and think about the good and bad times i've had with those games and i'm able to hold onto them and take care of them and share them with my friends. Its a good feeling to know you picked certain games based on your tastes and such and you can show people what it is and say that its yours and that you take care of it.

I may be looking into it way more than any one should but that's just how I feel about physical copies.

I prefer to have the physical copy of a game because that way I can just go and look at my games to see what I have. I wouldn't want to buy the digital copy of a game because, as a few other users have said, if a glitch or something happens, all your games could be wiped out. With physical copies you don't have to worry about that because you can just pop in a game and you're good to go. As long as you look after your games, the physical versions should last a lot longer than the digital ones.

I prefer physical. While digital is more convenient, I love to collect games, so it's nice to see it right there on my shelf, if only for cosmetic purposes. I hope they continue to make physical copies for a long time.

I've always thought that perhaps I'm just too far behind the rest of my generation.  For -most- things, I definitely prefer a physical copy.  I mean, I would never even be able to enjoy a Kindle because I wouldn't be able to physically feel the pages under my fingers.  I don't like doing online work either because I'd rather have a sheet of paper in front of me and a writing utensil in my hand.

I'm the same way with games.  I would much rather have a cartridge or CD, than a collection of icons on my computer.

For the most part, I like having a physical copy of games. I like that click you get when you put in a cartridge, and it's cool to put them all on a shelf and look at the collection that I have. So, I would choose physical.

I'm with basically everyone else here. I prefer physical copies of games, simply for the ease of use and the fact that it will use up less space. Those alone are reason enough. I do enjoy digital occasionally though, because of the ease of access on my consoles.

Physical copy.  If you've got "slow" internet like me then a digital copy is super frustrating.

Physical copies are cool and I like both but there is one advantage to digital copies that I like.  I have hundreds of games in digital form on my Xbox and I like just scrolling through the list to see which one I'm going to play, then I just press a button and it starts up.  I don't have to go to my gameshelf and get it out and put it in the system.

For me, I normally like the traditional way, by going and getting it physically, mostly because I think it's a little better to do and I also get a little more content in the physical copy than the digital one, but I sometime do get some digital copies here and there.
