Krystal: I don't like you anymore Fox! "I'm a bounty hunter now!" "I like panther more" "say you're sorry and I'll consider it" *sigh* Plus a formula change. I'm a little worried about the Star Fox series. I mean, I want to get the next one that comes out for the Wii U, but I'm worried that Nintendo might ruin it. I mean, Star Fox 64 might be the only Star Fox game I ever play because of all of the problems that I heard of in the sequels But, if Sonic could recover, so can Star Fox. What do you guys think of the game. And what does it mean for Star Fox's future? "I'm a bounty hunter now!" "I like panther more" "say you're sorry and I'll consider it" *sigh* Plus a formula change. I actually enjoyed Star Fox Command believe it or not and I'm sure that the series will recover immediately if they don't make the future Star Foxs gimmicky and stick to the Star Fox 64 type of gameplay I believe the only thing people hate about the series seems to be the parts in the game where you exit the arwing. |

To be fair...
Adventures was never supposed to be a Star Fox game. It was a canned project until Nintendo bought it and said to slap the Star Fox logo on it, resulting in many changes, scrapped designs, and a fight against General Scales that never actually works and triggers a cutscene the moment you press A. Assault's problem is that some people didn't enjoy the foot combat. My problem with it is the lack of branching paths, but that's not too big of a problem with me. Command's problem was definitely the character development. The makers of that game took a crap on it and pretty much made it so everybody was independent all of a sudden. The game was supposed to be somewhat based off the unreleased Star Fox 2, and while they got some parts right, I don't think they truly captured the spirit of SF2. Fortunately, not every ending in Command completely ruins Fox and Krystal's relationship... just the one that they force you to take your first time playing. Try finding the ending where your final mission is a party of all females. That one was quite entertaining, and I wish I could find it again, since it was my last ending and they were the only choices I had left to take that weren't marked as a route already taken. As to how it all started... blame Fox. He started it in the prologue. XD Adventures was never supposed to be a Star Fox game. The issues I found was that the characters in Star Fox Command felt like they were ultimately replacing the team I grew up with and loved. Seeing them fall out, go their seperate ways with only some dialogue and then to have the endings completely seal their fate so there was no way they could go back where things were.....it just....no! No...Some endings were worse than others for me. I don't want the franchise to end, I want tosee these characters continue going on adventures together, looking out for each other, back-handed compliments given to each other, all that team work and friendship I feel between everyone. Now, apparently, it's gone. Just like that, and not only is it ended canonly, but in different, alternative ways as well (must have been 6 other endings I was not okay with l)
I read somewhere Starfox Command marked the end of the series, and I really, REALLY hope this is not true. Even if a new game comes out, where will it take off? How will the story continue? I'm worried about this, and I'm not sure I want to see it. But d*mn, if the game play is good, I'm willing to brave it. To be fair Starfox Adventures wasn't a bad game by any means, I'm sure anyone else who has played through it would agree. It was just so inherently different to starfox 64, I know Zerothesaint started a thread on ideas and speculations for the new game, I have a few ideas for it and I'm actually really excited to see what kind of game they can pull off this time, the main thing I want is up-gradable ships and a huge free roam map in space. |

sonikku : Darkpower508 : Yeah, I don't get what's with krystal, even in the ending where they get married, it's like the end of the Star Fox Team until there son grows up. Still unsatisfactory. I hate to see the whole team split up like that to, the only one who I think has any buisiness doing that is Peppy considering how He is getting kinda old. I don't like any of the ending, granted Slippy getting married is hilarious. XD But look at Krystal, would she really act like that? I mean seriously? A Fox went through all the trouble to recolect those, spirit thigys risking life and limb to save you from a crystal. After the apariod invasion, he discharges you from the team for your own good, and she can't understand that? I'll be honest here, I don't like it when women get involved in battles unless neccecary, it's our job as the men to protect women and children. I could understand krystal being a little upset, but is that how she is even personalized in Star Fox adventures? I know she was a little rude, but I don't think that she was that self-centered. And I have to agree with slippy, Fox And Krystal were made for each other! I get sick of drawn out, unrealistic drama. Fast. Yeah, I don't want it to end that way either. read below. Kevyn13 : I don't know how good Star Fox adventures is, but on the surface I think that it leaves the basic formula to far away. The original characters might have done a lot for the original game. As I say this please remember that this is only my opinion, and it's okay for you to have yours. But I'm just saying, if you take a game that's about going uber fast, throw in a bunch of characters that don't make sense (and some cussing on the side) plus a bunch of alternate endings, all of which are unsatisfactory, And you focus it on Shadow rather than Sonic. You might have a bad game in your hands. I think that it is fairly important to stick to the original formula. I mean, that's what your fan base looks for. If your going for new fans, and create a game based on a new formula, and the old fans complain, but the new fans love it, you're setting yourself up for something that's not pretty. When it's time to think up the next game, you'll have to decide which formula you're going to go with. Choosing the old one will please the retro fans and create good hype on the internet. Toweras the new fans who like the new formula will complain about the formula change. It will divide the fanbase and make it a nightmare to create a game that everyone will deem as a good entry in the series. Look at Sonic. You basically have three types of Sonic Fans. 1 give us Shadow, Space Colony Ark, Blood and cussing. (minority) 2 gives us more sonic adventure like games. 3 give us Sonic Unleased and Sonic Color like games. 4 I hate Sonic nowadays, it ended for me with the Sega Saturn/Genesis. Now, Sega has to deal with a divided fanbase. Why not make Dinosuar planet- Dinosuar planet? after all, that makes the most sense. just sell the rights to Nintendo for a small fortune. I don't hate Star Fox Adventures though because it didn't really take anything away from Star Fox Assualt. Except Rare kinda did sell the rights to Nintendo. And THWY'RE the ones that said to put the Star Fox brand in it.
As Magoichi Saika (Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes) once said, in the heat of battle women tend to act more "manly" than men. In one way, Fox was right to try to keep Krystal safe. But in my opinion, Krystal brought more to the team than even Falco Lombardi in Assault. Just because Krystal's a woman doesn't mean she can't be the gamechanger the team needs, so in my view, Krystal was correct to react to Fox's decision in the way she did. The whole affair was Fox's fault to begin with. But that's my opinion. As Magoichi Saika (Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes) once said, in the heat of battle women tend to act more "manly" than men. Sword legion : I agree with you, however, a company is allowed to experiment with their games and see what goes well and what doesn't survive. This was one of those games. I thought Starfox Assault was rather good, and Star Fox Adventures.....disappointing but interesting. I still felt to some extent the characters were who they were supposed to be, but in Star Fox Command, I felt it was forced. Even though I agree women can indeed fight as well as men (SuckerPunch everyone), Fox was kinda out of place by trying to be the "good guy" and not let his lover get hurt, even though she kinda got in on the action on Star Fox Assault. You know Krystal can fight and take care of herself Fox, let her help. What's this sudden change of heart? |

Darkpower508 : sonikku" I agree that a company must be allowed to experiment as it sees best. Nintendo owns Star Fox, not us. I just noticed that it's pretty ridiculous that Star Wolf's team gets along better than Star Fox's team. :/ And yeah, I kinda got that all the disputes in command, where more or less forced on them by Ninentdo. As for Krystal being discharged. Look at what happened at the end of Star Fox Assualt. Peppy and ROB were considered dead. That is what may have caused a change in Fox's mind of just how safe Krystal was. I know that if I met someone who was an amazing girl I wouldn't want anything to happen to her. Krystal, though is very protective of Fox and wants to be around to help him out. Actually, I think that sonikku may be right about Krystal being a game changer, and potentially necessary. Mostly because of her telepathetic abilities. The main reason I dislike female fighters in video game is because of religious convictions. ie if God made men to doo the fighting, then that's the way it should be. Considering how men are designed to do it much better. And I can't stand how women fighters all usually made into furries- which I can't stand. I just want to shoot you down Katt! And don't touch those missels! I need to shoot them down for enough points to get my medal! But if I'm correct, then Krystal seems to be ordained as a fighter by whatever deities rule the Lylat to. Which would make it highly justifiable. sonikku" I agree that a company must be allowed to experiment as it sees best. Nintendo owns Star Fox, not us. Sword legion : I guess that's a suitable act of behaviour...Did Fox ever reference that in Command for his reasoning? Even a little? |

Sword legion : I don't remember for certain, but I think Krystal's home world was wrecked and she was looking for the offender, so of course she'd be one of those female fighter types. I presume she gave up that search (unless Andross or Scales had a hand in that in the first place) when she joined up with Star Fox, as if Nintendo completely forgot about her backstory.
Darkpower508 : From what I remember, the only reasoning is it's for her safety. As far as the prologue goes, that's all we get. It may be presumably because of Assault, but I imagine these events didn't take place soon enough after Assault for his timing to make his reasoning justifiable, and we have to draw our own conclusions from it.
