Did you know that Sonic Advance 3 is a direct sequel to Sonic Battle, SEGA's previous Sonic game on the GBA? Now you ask, why Sonic Battle instead of Sonic Advance 2? Well, here are the links:

  • SAdv3 uses SB's improved soundfont, and many songs in the game are remixes of songs from Sonic Battle. Chaos Angel's final act/boss song is a remix of Holy Summit, Route 99's themes are all remixes of Tails' Lab, and Emerl's Theme is re-arranged several times (intro, true final boss theme). There are also remixes of themes from Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Advance 2, and Sunset Hill's music is based off Battle's version of Green Hill.

Gmerl, Eggman's gray robot from this game, is a re-built Emerl. Much like Emerl, he gets stronger as you fight him and goes crazy when exposed to the Chaos Emeralds' power.

The game is stated in the Japanese Sonic website to be a direct sequel to Sonic Battle, even.

So, did you all know about this? Do you think Sonic Advance 3 is a worthy sequel to Sonic Battle?
