This, seems like the most appropriate section for this thread.

On to the topic, pixel art. Are there many artists on Vizzed? Considering a lot of your online life's revolve around pixels.

Let me explain a bit. I've been with Vizzed for a while now, but I'm very inactive here. My residency was on another forum, that serves as an extension to a game I use to volunteering develop for. Those forums, were full of artists, who gave each other constructive criticism, built skills with and upon one another, and had a few games involving art where people could show off (and potentially brag with) their work.

I have since quit the development, and playing the game, for the better. Because of this, I am out of things to pixel. I am Trying to find residency of another place on the internet. We all do this. Reside on a website, or game. Rarely "venturing" out to unfamiliar parts of the web. I'm wondering if Vizzed is for me. I hope to be able to continue to make pixel art, with my departure from my former home.

So, back to the topic. Is pixel art a thing here? Are people also pixeling, have knowledge with it, enjoy it, can give criticism with knowledge, or loves to admire it?

If so, I'd like to organize a few things. Perhaps a portfolio of my work, and some requests for users. Another idea would be an event for pixels, if anyone is interested, I'll go into detail.

Most likely you know what pixeling is. Where you place down, block by block (a pixel) to represent an image. Usually used as a game sprite. (my apologize for my rather brief, and poor explanation of pixeling)

Here's an example of my work.

A sprite for the game I formerly developed for. It's based off of the colossi in the game Shadow of the Colossus.

A dragon head... Nothing much to it. Very rough draft. Not much time put into it. Didn't bother adding AA to it.

Both these are hand pixeled, from scratch. All the colors are hand picked.

So, what do you guys think? Anyone else interested in Pixel Art Portfolios, or perhaps generic art portfolios? And are there other pixelers there willing to share their work? Let me know!

Surely this can't be taboo to Vizzed.

tgags123 : Finally. A reply! Thanks so much!

I like to host portfolios of my pixel art, but it doesn't seem like hosting it on Vizzed would work out.

Give me sumthin to pixel, and I'll pixel it:o

Melancholy : Again I am terrible like the other poster at sprite art. You are pretty good, I have only made a replica of the original Mario from Super Mario Bros.

I like the dragon head. From a distance it looks like a red Majora's Mask, just without those massive glaring eyes. Keep up the good work.

You mention a game you have formerly made am I right? Is there somewhere I can play it?

Thanks a lot. If anyone has any criticism, feel free to lay it on. My goal is to improve, not to gloat. (Entirely, that is)

I wouldn't recommend investing any money into the game, but if you want to play, I can link you to it.

I didn't make the game. I was simply helping with Graphics development. I am still helping them once in a great while when they need it. I do plan on stopping entirely however.

iOS:

Android:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quattroplay.GraalZone&hl=en

Facebook Version: (If you don't have a mobile device)
https://apps.facebook.com/graalzone/?fb_source=search&ref=br_tf

The games predecessors are seeing over 3000 players. This one has a low player count, but is seeing a rise often. It will, someday compare the to the predecessors.

MechaMento:

A UFO I made for a friend. I'm not fond of detail, but with the animation it's always a pain in the ass to work with.

I plan on extending the animation to where a tractor beam comes down.

Wow this sounds so cool! I've never tried pixel art, but after reading your thread I've grown quite curious. If I want to try it, witch software should I use?

Ps.
I like your sprites, you are very talented!
