Thanks for reading my review of Dr. Mario for Nintendo 64!! --kramer4077

Overall:  9--Oh, Dr. Mario!  He has cured my boredom on many rainy or snowy Wisconsin days!  I had this game on the original Game Boy.  Yes, that's right, I played this before there was color on the Game Boy and that version was very difficult!  The Nintendo 64 version is my absolute favorite version, and definitely in my top 5 favorite games of all time!  There is something highly addicting about wanting to clear germs off your game screen.

Graphics:  9--The graphics are very nice for a Nintendo 64 game.  Everything is very colorful and there are many different backgrounds you can choose to have behind the game during game-play.  I prefer the lighter backgrounds to the darker ones, but there's a good assortment to choose from!

Sound:  10--Wow, are the songs totally addicting!  They offer the traditional tunes from the original Dr. Mario like "Chill" and there's even some new tunes to try out!  It's like I hear the music in my sleep from this game sometimes.  My brother and I even made up lyrics to the original songs because the tunes are so catchy!

Addictiveness:  10--Once you start killing those germs you won't want to stop!  Just like I hear the music in my sleep sometimes when I close my eyes a game board with colorful germs appears in front of me!  This game is definitely addicting!

Story:  8--The other versions of Dr. Mario don't have a story, but this version has a one player mode with a little story to it.

Depth:  8--This version of Dr. Mario does have more to offer than its predecessors since there is a story mode.  However, all game modes involve putting colorful pills onto germs and lining up 4 of the same color in a row to eliminate the germs.  When all the germs are gone, the level is complete.  You will then be advanced to the next level, which will have a few more germs on the screen than the previous level did.  Hey, let me tell you about the 4-player mode!  This is AWESOME!  The most difficult part might be finding 3 friends to play Dr. Mario with you, but it's worth it to play with real people!  On your game board when you eliminate 2 or more sets of germs in a single turn, you will "dump" some extra pill pieces onto an opponent.  The extra pieces may or may not help them.  If the pieces help them, then you are a great friend.  If the pieces land on top of different colored pieces, well then your friend just might start cursing at you like a sailor!

Difficulty:  9--Level 1 on low speed is not very difficult.  My mother can complete that level.  Now level 20 in high speed--good luck with that!  The difficulty of the game depends on the level and speed that you choose to play with.  The game can be as difficult as you make it.  What's nice is that if you have a friend who doesn't play that well, she can go on a lower level while you play against her on a higher level.  It can make the match-up more exciting than just playing on the same level all the time.

This is a pretty solid review! Only one complaint, why is your text box so tiny? I would much rather read it in the full post layout, but that is your preference. Other than that, this review was pretty good! Can't wait to read you next one!

Yeah, I agree with TreasurePlant23's statement. The text box is too small for room for a +500 post. But anyways, this review was pretty good. This is well worded, well organized, and I know this could have been longer if Dr Mario was an adventure game.

TreasurePlanet23 : Thank you for your comment and I don't know how to make the text box bigger in my reviews   I like the layout, but you're right that the text box comes up so small!

I almost forgot about this game! I love puzzle games like Tetris, Puyo Puyo, and Dr. Mario! I had this game and played it a lot with my brothers. And I like how you mentioned that you hear the songs while you sleep; I listen to some game music from any game to help me get to sleep, it's just got to be soothing like Dire, Dire Docks [Super Mario 64], Atlantis [Glover], or Green Garden [Bomberman 64]. I mix in some mainstream music, too. I liked the music in this game; "Fever" and "Chill" and so on. Catchy!

Great Review! 5 Star, I say!
