Do you like the like/dislike system, or do you dislike the like/dislike system?

I really don't like it, nor do I really see much of a point to it. It could cause offense of someone dislikes your post, and like I said, I don't see a point to it. Another downside is the post rating on your profile. I don't really know what it is, but I just don't like it.

bobq : This feature can be abusive. You could just make a big load of alternative accounts to like all of your main account's posts. It could cause flame wars. (Probably a low chance due to Vizzed being peaceful) But honestly, I don't like how we have a feature from Youtube.

This can easily be detected as the likes for a post is displayed thus if someone is doing it then the IP's can be checked if they are suspicious.

bobq : Honestly no I don't like it, its not even being used for the reason it was added for. I mean seriously people are just liking and disliking posts for no real reason for example I made a post in my own review thread saying that they weren't ... well read the post yourself : Here I only stated something and I get down-rated for it.

It could probably be improved if they had to input reasons for them however this has been suggested for similar things such as TP to no avail. Over than that how about just having likes and change it to something like "rep" this would remove any form of abuse related to down-rating. Should it be removed? I'm still indecisive at this time.

TheFadedWarrior : Personally I think it may spark something, since it works pretty much the same as TP, not showing when you get down-voted, this means it could be possible you to be dislike attacked.

Well I'm not sure if I like or dislike  the like/dislike opinion. I mean it think it's good and all that people like your post and all and you get Vizzed from the likes you get yet this could be abused sometime which is the reason why I don't really know if I should use it a lot , but as long as people don't abuse it as much I guess this is a seemingly good idea.

PixelBrick : I feel that you response is taking it a little too far in assuming that David didn't think about these issues when he implemented these features. Remember, this is an old feature that is brought back, so he has experienced this before. Your point about alternate accounts is that the main database can tell who like or dislike other people's posts, and the site can check IP addresses on whether someone has more than one account anyways. When those are found, they would be closed down, so that isn't a worry. You just need to make sure that you as an active member be consistent with your likes and dislikes and be active on that. When all active members do that, the type of unfair likes and dislikes will be insignificant.

I guess this can be pretty useful for finding whoever has multiple accounts though I still sort of dislike this feature myself though. Especially since it has the risk of being abused. I know this has the daily limit but it can slowly lead to something as days go by. Similar like trust points attack except everyone can up rate and down rate, though it doesn't really affect you...

I like the Like-Dislike Post system. 
I like it because, i've had Post quality issues in the past. Now I can finally know what's wrong. I think that's what it's supposed to be used for.
It doesn't need to be improved, But if it does need to be, It may have the same issues as the Trust Point System.
It Shouldn't be removed under any terms, because it's OK the way it is.

every system can be abused if people try hard enough. Nothing can prevent that. However, I would rather have a slightly flawed system as a measurement than nothing at all.

I like the system because  I finally know if my post are better quality and Plus I think it makes me feel more well known and special, The only thing I dislike is how some haters can users can probably abuse the system, that's all I have to say.

most users (site staff and down I think) can only downrate between once and twice a day but can up rate 4-10 times a day. Even if you downrated one member every day there are potentially hundreds of up ratings you could get if your posts are good.

I kin of dislike it. I think that it has a good space ahead of it, but right now it does have some flaws like the whole thing with people trolling others. But, that will be fixed.

I just think there is no point of it. Unless you wanted to give a little amount of Viz to someone/

Well i think it is a pointless generally unwanted feature.It's just another popularity and bias based system. I feel this way because the system has been out for 2 or 3 days and I already seen a member with -26 post ratings already. Also I had 5 as my post rating about 3 days ago before I got banned and now that I've come back from my ban which lasted 3 days I went from 5 to 3 and now 1. Personally I feel this system can be and  will be abused very easily and I really don't see how this feature is useful in the first place or its reasoning behind adding the feature.

Divine Aurora : I would make two points to build off from your comment. 

1. With something as extreme as -26 post ratings, it might mean that that user actually does give bad posts. The thing about this feature is that it is not the individual numbers that matters, it is more like the range of numbers. For example, if a user has a lot of ratings, but the user's overall rating is around a -3 to a 3, that means that this user posts a near equal amount of good posts and bad posts according to the board. If the user is like in -30, then we can tell that the person might not have good posts compared to someone with an overall 30 rating. It is all about where you are in the spectrum, and not really based on exactly what your total is.

2. May I ask if you know what specific posts did you get downrated? If it is from your new posts, it might be because your new posts are not that great according to the board. If it is from posts that you made before you got banned, then an abuse might be a possibility. 

With that said, the best way to make this feature to be not abusive is that EVERY ACTIVE MEMBER should do their part in giving fair and appropriate ratings for posts. It is through having the majority of fair users using this feature that will outweigh the unfair/trolling users on this site. The more people who use this, the more accurate the numbers can be in the ratings. Also, it should encourage members to post better posts instead of posting bad ones. Everyone should do your part!

play4fun : I don't know exactly what posts were down rated but I know for sure they were made before my 3 day ban. And the member with -26 posts got permanent banned but he had -12 before when his perma ban was just a regular ban and now the number jumped from that to -26 a day after his perma ban.And I understand the points you've made here and there is solid reasoning behind what you said.

Divine Aurora : for some reason when someone gets banned it makes everyone forget any good quality the person had and only focus on the negative. That's why people lose trust points so quickly during a ban. Doesn't make it right all the time but at the same time we don't take trust points during a ban so it's almost like the board is correcting for what only the staff see.

I like this feature in that I can reward users for great posts. What I dislike about this feature isn't actually the feature, but the fact that the people who get a lot of dislikes will complain about it as opposed to taking a hint and realizing that they aren't posting so hot. I think the exploitation complains are generally unwarranted, because anything and everything can be exploited, and even if it is, what harm does it to do you if play4fun or geeogree gets 25 likes from one or two users? And if you get a dislike? Uh oh. Someone disagreed with you or you had a moment (or series of them). Get yourself back on track. Think about what you post, proofread it, and understand that not everyone is going to agree with you or like what you have to say, so even if you construct a beautiful peace about wishing for the return of the kingdom of Prussia, there might be a German here who dislikes your comment. Don't be so sensitive. By telling us what you think, you have opened yourself to scrutiny by others. If you don't like it, then your best bet is to keep to yourself.

That isn't going to fly with some people in here. I agree with you though
