One has Tepig
One has Oshawott
One has Snivy
(just examples) so you just battle a fire type,water type ,and a grass type.

XHero111 : Wouldn't that be a little hard for route 1 since your starter pokemon is level 5. Maybe if we had one trainer at the end of route 1 who has a level 5 pokemon. A little like the first rival battle in emerald but since route one is a roughly the size of route 101 and 103 put together that could work. Maybe a few easy trainers could feature in the way. Of course we need a good balance since the first gym is in the second town and we need some good training.
Any ideas for wild pokemon though?

MechaMento : I actually made it so the starters are an important choice. If you chose fire, it'll be more easier. Water, it'll be meh. Grass, it'll be harder.

XHero111 : oh what are the choices?

To keep things moving we should have a rom timetable. Basically certain people will get the rom on certain days. For instance I could have the rom on Monday and Saturday and someone else could have it on tuesday and wednesday.

Of course we will need to agree on times we are available. For your information I am available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and the weekend. I may also be available on the other days remaining but not every week.

I do not think it would affect the story writers or story writer because I doubt any of them will need the rom.
Just an idea we could use incase we did what we did when the deadline was a little while ago.

Only me mecha and xhero need the rom right? Mecha and I should get it for three days and Xhero should get it for one.
I still don't know what rom to use.

earthwarrior : I thought you had the most up to date rom because you were doing all of the scripting and sprites and stuff. Incase you do not here is the latest rom I have however I thought Xhero111 made some more changes.

To make our hack numero uno we need to look at the highest rated most popular hack! look at the reviews and see what people liked and didnt like and use that info for our hack and what are the starters?

Well the most played hack, I am not sure if it has the highest rating is Pokemon Light Platinum. Now the problem is it has a different set of tile sets and you can get pretty much all 4th and 5th gen pokemon as well as the other 3. There are also some  amazing script work for instance there is a salamence cut scene and some of the animations have been tweaked. The only problem I have with light platinum is the design of the character, it just does not look right, So maybe if we focused on the characters appearance then we could. Another popular hack is pokemon dark rising, though I am yet to play that. However I know that also has different generations in it as well.

For the sprites, couldn't we just export them from one of those games. Of course we would have to give credit.

I think we should look at the popular hacks submitted to this competition. Like lsa's rocket science or patar's hack.

I played both of the games you mentioned, well I had already played rocket science so I just played patar's hack. I have just made the pros and cons of the games in bullet points and there we can see what we can almost replicate (experience wise) the pros and do better than the cons. 

Pokemon Rocket Science

+ Very good scripting
+ Revolves around vizzed
+ Decent story (however I have only played through half of it)
- Bad Starters
- Same overworld as original game

Pokemon Catch 'em All (beta)

+ All 386 pokemon are in the game
+ Uses pokemon sprites from HG and SS
+ Day and Night system (could make this game the winner)
- Same map and story as emerald
- The music glitches

This game is of course a beta so we have to remember that it is going to be even better when finished, if finished.


Two questions I have, 
Who is going to have the rom?
Will we upload betas to get players opinions? 

earthwarrior : I will help! i can make good sprites for the hack, and i am good at coming up with stories for the game and i would seriously like it if i could help, if so, it would be my first hack! I have been practicing my sprites, and there are so many ideas i have come up with in the past! i really have nice ideas! i got a few ideas for the starters!

howletta : Can we have proof for the sprite work, if you are good earthwarrior is more likely to accept you.

I had an idea for a town to have a teleporter in one building which will take you to a place (a townish looking thing), with buildings containing extreme references to other video games. We could have a Mario building which could be called Yoshi's house (Super Mario World Reference) and the people inside can say quotes from the game, but all Mario really says is here we go...
A better example would be for a Zelda house. When you leave it, speech will say "You've met with a terrible fate, Haven't you?" (Majora's Mask). I have no idea what sort of events would happen here but I was thinking it could be more of a museum so you would have to pay to go through the warp to the place.

I will need to re-upload the music, I forgot to export the files so we can actually use them in the hack so I guess you will have to wait for them. I will probably edit a few in the process.

I am going to do some mapping, I have not done anything for almost 3 weeks now, also when do you want it back?
