Just wanted to get an idea on what the plan was for the official Vizzed Fantasy Football league draft. I wanted to make sure that we all had enough time to plan out the times that we need to set aside to live draft (Which is what I hope we are doing)

Now that the Mobile app allows you to Draft, this shouldn't be as much of a problem making sure that most of the league can actually draft.

Even if they can't make it, they can pre-rank their players and the computer will draft for them based on their rankings.

jparks34 : Openings were filled months ago (there was a separate thread for signing up). Talk to thing about his Secondary fantasy league and see if you can join his.

I had asked David a couple of weeks on his "ask David" thread and he said that the thread will be made soon.

I think most people are thinking the draft will be done right around the last preseason week (sometime between August 25th to August 30th). Since its best that we do it close enough before the start of the season (September 5th) and that we don't do the draft to early that some of the players we draft get injured. A lot of starters are gone this season and we've only had 1 preseason game so far...

Michael Crabtree - ACL done for year
Jeremy Maclin - ACL done for year
Danario Alexander - ACL done for year
Ryan Bulagha - ACL done for year
Joe Morgan - Knee done for year
Percy Harvin- Knee might miss half the season
Santonio Holmes - Still recovering from injury last season
Culliver- ACL done for year
Nelson - Knee, might miss rest of preseason
Cobb - Bicep, don't know how much time he might miss


I just want to know if we are still doing the Live Draft option (I still get that its an offline draft). That and the Official Vizzed Fantasy Football thread be posted up.

Yeah I'm hoping we do the live draft option as well. It's just more fun to do it that way. Either way, it was a competitive league last year and I'm thinking it will be even more so this year now that a few guys got their first fantasy football season under their belts.

The injury bug has hit a few teams. I spend awhile updating all my pre-rankings for the few leagues I am in this year.

I kinda forgot about this, should be schedule to have a live draft or should be just do an auto draft like we've always done?

When do you think would be a good time to do a live draft if we did decide to do that?

Davideo7 : I honestly think that we should have a live draft. It seems based on the comments on the league page that we have more than half of the leagues support in doing the draft this way.

Besides, if people can't make it they need to pre-rank their players before the draft and the computer will just draft for them. Basically the same as what was done last year for the players that don't make it.

Also, the Android mobile app works great for drafting, I've used it a few times on Mocks and it did awesome, so maybe that will encourage more people to live draft even if they cant be in front of a computer.

That's just my thoughts on it anyways.

I'm not sure about the time but I figure an evening on a Friday or Saturday in the next week or two would work out pretty perfectly. You could also post a thread to the people in the league and ask them a time.

It's just like the tournaments here though, some people will say they will come, and they won't show up, but that just makes pre-ranking your players and actually participating in the league that much more important.

Davideo7 : Has any decision been made with regards to this? I'm just wondering so I know how to prepare. I've been adjusting my rosters for all my leagues this week because I have drafts coming up for my two other money leagues over the next two weeks.

I was wondering when the draft would happen as well. The season starts in less than 3 weeks, and we don't have a date scheduled. I'd love to do it on any day at around 5 PM central time, but that's just me.

Davideo7 : Are we just going to do an auto draft like we did last year? The reason I'm asking is because we are a little less than 3 weeks away, and draft time slots fill up quickly towards the start of the season so if we want to get a draft in we may want to set our time soon.

If not, that's cool I just want to plan accordingly with regards to my roster/pre-ranks.

I also noticed that the divisions need some re-working

Also, the rankinfs are out if whack, but I dont mind them scrambled.

megamanmaniac : David should know who is in the league since they had to pm him and donate Viz to him. He should make sure that when the discussion thread is created that he summons everyone so that they know what date the live draft is going to happen (that is if we have a live draft) and that they can try to make time so that they can hopefully be on when the live draft start.

megamanmaniac : I'm not sure if he knows off the top of his head who's in the league, but everyone for the most part posted who they were on the league page. Honestly I figure at this point that the league is probably going to just do an auto draft like last year since I haven't heard otherwise.

Oldschool41 : I ask because last year he didnt and one of the 3 winners didnt reveal themself until 3 or so weeks after the season ended. Also, seone registered for the league and didnt participate at all.

Davideo7 : It's up to you, but maybe we should play it safe and do an auto draft.

megamanmaniac : I still think we might be able to do a live draft, but the window is closing fast. If we don't do a live draft sometime next week during the last preseason game, then we run the risk of cutting the amount of trading to do before Broncos-Ravens. David will just have to make the thread sometime before the end of this week or else some people might not be able to clear their schedule in order to do the live draft (but as Jordan said they have an app and they can set their pre-draft rankings for who they want incase they can't make it).

Davideo7 : The ball is in your court sir. I'm sure your busy with maintenance of the site and I'm sure all of these summons are getting annoying; but we are wondering what your decision is.

Funny thought just came to me. This whole "what will David decide" is starting to turn into a LeBron James FA decision. Will David stick to doing the auto draft that was done last year or will he take his talents to the Live draft?

Davideo7 : The ball is in your court. Again, I would really prefer a live draft on the weekend,(same goes for legacyme3, who heavily wants a live draft) but this is your league. The easiest decision will be better, honestly.
