I never understood why females seem to trash each other all the time.  What is going on?  Do you see girls do it?

I do not know. Maybe they just like it or something. Its one of the greatest mysteries of nature like the Lockness Monster or The Bermuda Triangle. Wadya think ?

Lol, not all girls like gossips, dramas and all those stuff. I'm happy with my peaceful life.

Juliet : You may be happy and that's all and well but why do other girls do it?  You're a girl!  Why do you think they go for drama and gossip and frenemies and all that stuff?

I'm convinced we're biologically programmed to hate each other. It's just that some of us overcome the biology and make friends with some women. XD

It's easy to find flaws on another person, especially since girls tend to worry about stuff that most guys don't. So it's easy to badmouth other girls for silly things.

Also, most girls love going in 'packs'. Well, at least in my high school they do (myself included). What I mean by this is that if a girl in your pack doesn't like another girl (or person), then the girls in the pack would do the same. It's like a milder version of Mean Girls.

Yeah, I've seen it... I think, in my opinion, it's basically the same deal when guys do it. We trash talk each other in the same way, except for dudes it often results in someone getting beat up.

I have no idea why girls bicker. Maybe it is the same reason guys bicker at each other: to be competitive in their own way, while staying friends. It's a way to pass time.

I'm not sure why since I'm not really that kind of girl, but It's probably about small things and maybe stuff that are pretty nonsense for boys that they love to notice and make an issue about it, and since humans are usually talkative and social beings, they end up backstabbing other people through talking about those things that they've 'noticed' about someone else behind his or her back. But hey, it's not limited to girls, Guys are doing it too!

It's the same reason that some guys fight or wrestle a lot.

It's all about comparing each other and feeling better than other people. Stupid guys usually will try to be tougher than the others, and usually physically compete. For girls what is important is being socially more accepted, so the compete by gossiping and arguing.

But only silly people who have no deep self worth do these things.

Most girls just seem to want to either be the center of attention, or the best at what they think is important. If they're fighting, it's probably for one of those reasons, unless they have a grudge against whomever, which still only occurs due to one of the reasons listed above.

It really doesn't make sense to those of us outside of that world, even if we are female ourselves.

Jealousy, Girls seem to run on nothing but jealousy and envy, in high school it seemed like if they didn't have daily drama with another girl then their day was horrible. It's something no man will ever fully understand because we're wired differently than girls are. Just like there's things about us they'll never understand.

Yeah it is the way girls deal or resolve their problems. Like guys do it by beating each other up and getting into fights whereas girls attack with words and it spreads like you have no idea. They can have a grudge or they will just completely degrade someone. Being in high school, I have to put up with this crap everyday. The drama,the fighting, the immature stuff. It is ridiculous.

So basically it is a girl's way of unleashing anger with words instead of being physical like a guy would be. So that is my reasoning behind it. Personally between being physical attacks or being lied about by a rumor, I think words are more damaging. What you say can truly affect the life of someone else and you can't take it back.

I think it boils down to a rivalry of some sort.  I don’t necessarily think that when someone bad mouths someone else that it necessarily has to do with jealously I do think however that it’s human nature to think of some people as a rival.  Things such as similar interests or similar goals can play a factor.  I don’t think it is exclusive to females.  People can say things about someone when their angry with that person and it just natural.  I know that when I was younger I use to say things, normally in response to some rhetoric that was being said about me behind my back and or, when I wasn’t around to defend myself that looking back years later I honestly regret.

 

I do not regret the things I said necessarily but rather how it was said.  When things are said in anger, rational thinking sometimes is not always part of the equation much like the choices we sometimes make when we are young.  As I have gotten older, as I have matured I have realized that it is better to sit back and think things through before saying something which may be directed in anger.  This is strictly my point of view but I believe much like a lot of other things that it is all part of the maturing process.  It is up to each individual person however to allow themselves to mature. Learning from mistakes and maturing from those mistakes and errors in judgment can sometimes be more of a struggle than it really should be. 

 

In regard to this I believe it is better if you have an issue with someone for whatever the reason, it is better to go to that person and handle it.  From my experience it seems like when people bad mouth each other and or, talk behind each other’s back that what ends up happening more often than not is that versions of what was said can get out rather than what was actually said and how it was said.  Thus by a person listening to someone’s version of what was said rather than going to the source it can compound an issue or problem and create more problems.  If you have a problem with someone it is better to have integrity by going to that person to get the issue resolved.  At least that is how I feel.  

I hate when I hang out with my girl friends and they start gossiping and badmouthing other girls!
Its the worst thing ever! But even worse is that if we meet one of the persons they have been talking so bad about the act really nice in front of him/her! It makes me so upset! Mostly because I've been through a lot of bullying and stuff, and it has really made me strong and made me see how wrong it is to badmouth others.
When I ask them about why they are doing it I often get answers such as "It's not that serious" or "It's not like he/she will know about it anyways".
This whole reasoning is just so dumb! I know what it feels like when you hear what others say about you, or when you suspect that your "friends" are fake.
And secondly, maybe you wouldn't feel hurt if someone told you that you are ugly, emo, stupid or that you have no friends, but others might!
If you have mean thoughts about someone, keep them to yourself or your diary!
In my opinion bad mouthing others is almost the same as bullying!
Ofc it's  not so serious if you mention that you don't like somebody to your friends, but at least be honest when you meet that person later!
Don't act like you are friends if you're not.

it's nature baby, sorry always wanted to say that phrase. But seriously it's just the way it is, i would suspect jealousy is usually the motive

0ddie : I agree that there seems to be a lot of this false pretense, especially among younger girls. I personally think it's because they are concerned with being popular and having a lot of people like them - so they put down others to make themselves look better, but they will never say anything to the person's face to give the other person any reason to talk bad about them to others. They will do whatever they can to remain in the limelight.

And then there are some girls who purposefully stay out of the limelight, realizing how fake it all is and wanting nothing to do with it. Those are the girls who have an advantage in mental maturity over their peers. It is important that a girl learns self worth and how to be her own person, not to rely on 300 other people's opinions of you and constantly seek praise and compliments. They are nice to have, but they are better coming from one person who you have a genuine connection with than  a bunch of "groupies" you barely know.

I have never been able to figure out why girls like to talk so much behind each others backs.  Perhaps we are genetically programmed to spread drama, perhaps, we are more socially likely to the influences of the drama we see on the media and have to copy it, or maybe its just because juicy gossip is juicy and we just HAVE to be able to share it with someone.
