I think the DS Lite is better. It also seems to be a lot more popular than the PSP Go. I have never even heard of the PSP Go until I read this thread.

It depends. The DS has thousands of very fun games waiting for you to play... while the PSP go... who ever really heard of that thing? It's going to lack games, and you're going to regret buying one of those.

I say DS is better than PSP totally overall (plus, that PSP GO in discontinued, while the DS is still getting a few more games to it.)
It really depends. If you're into long, good games then I go for DS. That one I'm still having fun with up until now - right now I'm planting flowers in my old animal crossing town since I haven't got a 3DS.

So my finger points at the DS on that one. If your PSP GO's internet connection fails (portables tend to do that) then you can't download games, can you... meaning you can't get games, either. There are many cases that can keep games in a DS and the DS inside it too, so DS is much better storage-wise in my opinion... plus it has long battery life.

The DS is way better than the psp.
I had owned both before and the DS lasted around two years while my PSP lasted only four months and I took very good care of both of those consoles.

Despite me prefering the PSP over the DS. I would go for the DS lite, because the PSP Go will soon become useless once the Playstation Store is discontinued. The DS Lite will always be playable because the games are bought as actual cards.

PSP Go or Nintendo DS Lite?, Well I personally would go for the the Nintendo DS Lite because I find games on the DS to be more entertaining and the DS holds a better charge than the PSP GO. In addition I would choose the DS Lite because like others have said the PSP GO is basically useless once your connection to the playstation store gets discontinued and since the DS Lite has to have a physical copy of the game to play, you don't have to worry about that problem especially when you are in a dead zone.

To me, the DS is much better. The games they have I like much better. Although the DS lite has problems regarding the system itself. The hinges are pretty bad. But the PSP doesn't have much besides the better graphics. And the fact that DS has real cartridges is a obvious plus. The DS is a more comfortable system as well.

Definitely the DS Lite, the PSP Go can't play any physical games. I would still prefer a regular PSP over a DS Lite, but I would just go with the DS Lite.

puma : When it comes to choosing between two consoles, you are best off going for the one with better games, that being the DS.

DS for me, but here's a bit of a poem I'm working on, that does not reflect my views, but is instead meant as a humorous take on the "author's" views:

Views of a Disgruntled Nintendo DS Owner:

I had some spare change
And so for a change
I tried the Nintendo DS
But it's second best
As I can attest
To a system that starts with PS!

Hope you enjoyed :-)

The PSP GO had a much better game play environment than the DS Lite. It was slicker, the graphics were better and so was the sound. But if I remember you couldn't play old PSP games and not many of The PS GO's Games were all that good.

Not only could you play great games, but the DS cartridge could be used on all over the 4 generations of DS. Along with that the DS lite can also play GBA games as well and on pokemon games you could migrate them through to your new Game.

I'm not going to close this because it's a "X or Y" thread, because this is a genuine conversation, however, I think DSi would be a better comparison, because the DSi loses ability to play GBA games.

PSP Go doesn't have the ability to play physical games, which is no big deal, those UMD's were always flimsy and easily broke, no use for me, because I carried them all over with me, and they broke. The Playstation Store had fine games, especially their PS1 classics, the Mini's, and their original games such as Peace Walker and Patapon. Plus, you can modify a PSP Go to play games anywhere to GameBoy Advance, or sometimes even N64 games, that's massive if you're looking for portable games, adding around 10000 games to the library. The design for it is perfect, it's small, the controls flip out, and it would be perfect for watching movies. Getting games onto it isn't that difficult, just plug and load, and if you bought it in the first year, Sony gave you 10 free games.

The DS Lite is a slimmed down version of the collossal DS, and it fits in your pocket a lot better, however, not close to as much as the PSP Go. The DS's library had great games like New Super Mario Bros. and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl, but they don't hold a candle to the NES/SNES/GBA games that you can play on the Go. The processing power of the DS Lite is a lot less than the PSP, which has beautiful games like MGS Peace Walker and the sort. The DS' shop could not download DS games in its own, which the PSP Go could. You can't watch movies on a DS Lite without an R4 card.

Overall, the PSP Go had a better design, more power, ability to play music and watch movies, better games, and proper emulation powers.

OK. I've added PSP 3000 because most of you think the GO is rubbish. Also I've enabled multi-voting so that means if you multi vote, you have to give me a really good reason.

ALSO MAKE SURE YOU ARE TALKING ONLY ABOUT THE DS LITE!!! THE PSP GO!!! AND THE PSP 3000!!!

While I have never used a 3000, so I don't know if it still destroys discs, I do know that the games on the DS are still superior. And don't get a DS, get a 3DS.

No. on all the psp's (expect the go) they use UMD's which you have to put in the back of the psp.
