Well a lot of times no I can't afford it but sometimes I am able to get fruits. I am well stocked up on vegies. I like fruit more than vegies so it does get hard sometimes. I wish they were both cheap.

Thankfully, yes. Honestly, I just slip up when everyone else is eating ice cream and chips and whatnot. During swimming season and track season I just eat a lot, mostly healthy foods.

I cannot afford to eat healthily, sadly. I wish it was cheaper here, but there is not much I can do when everyone feels like it is better to pour money into junk foods and other such useless substances. Do not get me wrong, I like junk food and all, but when it is cheaper than the food that can actually benefit you, it only incites frustration in me. Some of my friends can afford to eat healthily, and let me tell you, I am very jealous of them. I can occasionally get health foods, but that is significantly more infrequent than the non healthy foods.

I'm currently eating soup only every day so in that sense I'm not eating too healthily. If I had more money I would definitely put more effort into cooking and make my meals more regular. I can't afford cooking both lunch and dinner so I choose to eat "lunch-dinner" somewhere in between. Luckily it's so warm over here so I don't get that hungry during a day, and that saves up money a lot.

I think it's easier to eat healthy than most people are willing to admit.  For example, I like to buy whole tomatoes and then eat them as a meal.  I'll sprinkle some salt on them first... but that's a very healthy meal, right?  And besides that, it's cheap!  I wouldn't eat them for every meal every day, but if I did, it wouldn't put me out.

I think people just use 'cost' as an excuse and they likely need to be re-informed.

I don't think it's THAT hard to eat a healthy diet. You just need to avoid the types of foods that have lots of products that can hurt you in the long run, like overloading grease, and fatty stuff like that. It's not that hard for me to eat healthy, and I'm glad I am doing it. It's cheap and keeps me in a healthy shape.

I'm going to be the weird one. I can afford to, but I don't usually choose to. I'm a bit of a bon vivant in the food world.  My mother doesn't cook, and I never learned to cook, we went to restaurants almost all the time. I can't afford to eat unhealthy!  Healthy food is so much cheaper if you plan ahead and cook. My parents made sure I knew how to cook since chances were I'd marry someone who couldn't.  It was a wise decision on their part.

I'm not yet married, but I absolutely love to cook.  And I generally chuckle when people say healthy food is more expensive.  I get all the supermarket circulars, and have a fair farmer's market, so all I need to do is follow the sales or just go to the farmer's market and cut out the middle man.

I think the best place to start cooking healthy is to see what's on sale and search recipes on the internet.  I'm currently making a ton of potato-leek soup.  It's my favorite soup in the winter time.

The next best thing to do is garden.  Even if you don't have any land, get some window boxes or see if there is a local community garden- they're in a lot of cities, and the price for upkeep is usually very well subsidized.  You could even start a local community garden effort by contacting your state's (if you live in the states) department of agriculture or land grant university- every state has one. I luckily can keep about a quarter acre in cultivation during the growing season.
