You probably saw the thread I made a few days ago, right? This time I am here saying that according to my father, God revealed to him why my life is currently the way it is.
My father asked to God "Why things are like this?", and when he went to sleep, he dreamed about it.
My father told me he saw the appearance of the person, that were doing the evil works to us, it is one of those people from macumba (the way we like to call it), or Candomblé, the right name of it.

Here I present you an image of how it is like (know that this is just a little bit!):

This damn stuff is attacking my life, with my family not even involved in it anymore, we are still attacked by this stuff, satan try to hard to attack our lives, but God is way better than him! God will come and help us out of this hole for sure!

Candomblé is an african (just look who brought this...) religion in which they make offers including fruits, food and whatever to these 'gods', and the people who make these offers say that the 'gods' offer them protection, money and whatever else I am not interested in knowing.

Had a shiver about this? Then you can already figure out how evil is this stuff, and to make things worse, there is a house that does those things NEAR me! It's like... 5 minutes of walk until there!

Now you all can see why my life currently is being like this, because of this damn stuff! I could give you details about how bad is my condition, just ask, but I will send the reply via PM.

This thread certainly belongs here, since it is a religious (if Candomblé can even be called a religion...) stuff.

Some people I REALLY want to know about this.

Hm. There's no doubt that being surrounded by evil influences will affect your life, but I don't know anything about this, to be honest.  (Also, you should probably edit the cursing out of this thread.)

I really can't say more, but I can do some reading on it.  Just realize that if you set your heart fully with God and rely on Him for everything, He will shelter you from such things....

Seishiro Leonhart : Hate is the true evil, and that is not something which can be tolerated. Just because they practice a religion different than yours, doesn't mean that theirs is evil. Evil would be to blame someone that has nothing to do with you for something they believe in. I'm constantly struggling to help you, and I will continue to; but I'm an Atheist, does that make me an evil person? I'm not a Christian by any means, and even I have enough moral values not to judge or blame anyone for difficulties in my own life. I realize, and you must learn to; most of the time, things which occur in our lives are our own faults. We make choices, and those choices are followed by reactions. Sometimes, things happen to us for negative reasons in which there seems to be no explanation, but blaming others for the negativity in your life will only make you a bitter person, not a better one.

That may be what your father believes, but that isn't what matters. What do you believe? That is what truly matters. Parents, churches, tradition, and other outside sources can persuade you into believing any number of things. But at the end of the day, you have to ask yourself what your reason for believing is. If you follow or believe something simply because someone else tells you it is right, then you are better off not believing at all. The only way your life will have meaning, is if you follow your own heart, and have a personal feeling for what is right. If you allow yourself to be convinced into what you should think and feel, then you are no longer a being capable of free will; you become a tool for whatever they want you to be.

Whatever your religion is, I only have love and acceptance for you, and for the people in which you claim to 'hate'. I can tell you that hate is never the answer, and will only serve to make you more miserable than what you already feel.

I am not trying to offend you, but i think you have a very big misunderstanding of what real Candomble is. I am very familiar with it (I thought of teaching cultural anthropology). You basically are spitting on a religion because it is different from yours. You immediately call it the work of Satan and that they are attacking you. You say "If you can even call it a religion" after mentioning it is a polytheistic (multiple Gods) religion. Despite what some popular belief is, it is not a religion of Satanism or evil. They practices are not directed at others, but directed at themselves to achieve purity. I find if very dis-concerning that because a polytheistic religion lives 5 minutes from you, and you immediately blame that religion for your misfortune. As Singelli said, you are protected form such evils if your family is with God. I wonder if you have the same hatred and disrespect for the Hindu religion as they are also polytheistic and have a few similar type of rituals. Would you blame them too? Again, I am not trying to offend. I am trying to clear up your misconception of what true Candomble is and hopefully give you a little clarity on how you can't just blame other religious practices for your misfortune.

I can't remember much details about when my mother was on it, I was young, apparently my mother wasted quite a lot of money on it and apparently things were a little better back then.
After my mother left it, there were situations my mother felt that they were making those offers to make our life worse, mainly for the reason my mother left it, if I remember right at that time things got a little bad, and apparently one of us had something weird, that made us sick and we kept moaning, I can't really remember all the details for sure,
My father dreamed about they at it again, and on the dream he saw who were making the offers again, things that happen today kept happening even before Christmas, but here enters the part Guardian said I shouldn't go into other people's ideas, but I don't know what to think, it is not normal for us to have such problems, if you come and open my fridge and cupboards(?), there are only tea sashes, after every month we could go to the market and fill the cupboard with stock, now it keeps empty, I can't figure out why things are like this.
I don't think other religions are evil, I particularly respect other religions as long I feel it does not affect me negatively.

So in general, I had negative things during and after the Candomble part of our life, which was a reason to suspect them, but, if I were to think about why these things happen, my own opinion, I personally would say that is either God wanting to teach us something important, or maybe my father really have to go look for another job or something.

I don't know if the threads I make are useful for something or not, so far I believe I only given a negative impression of myself with them and I feel this was no different, maybe I should try to start taking things up on my own for a little, and consult people to see if the way I think is right or not.

Sorry if this post had mistakes, I posted this at 03:22 AM, so I am readu to go to sleep.

I'm terribly sorry, I can't help you in this aspect. I'm agnostic  and prefer to look at all separate religions as a whole to gain wonder of the universe and how other people do other things (although I hardly study it as a pass time. It's more of an en route subject for me), but I often don't take it seriously now. I am further sorry to say that I agree with rcater and GuardianZack on this one 100%, in fact I could go on to add to their argument. What I will say is that a religion doesn't define a person, but rather the people define the religion. What they do with it will make what the people see the religion as as a whole, and unfortunately stereotypes happen because of this (both as how Christians see Candomble people and vice versa). As such to your last post's message here, it's really okay to talk about your problems. The last thread you posted up I deal with all the time, and this isn't much different. I'll try to be of assistance as best as I can c:

That's all I'm really comfortable saying right now.

Sigh#

People performing religious practices contrary to your own isnt evil, the fact you are so opposed to them doing these fairly innocent practices near to you only realy disappoints me, because people with that attitude aggravate situations. I doubt their situation is much better than yours, yet people forever blame each other for their problems.
And what do you mean "Candomblé is an african (just look who brought this...) "? are you insinuating Africans are evil?I really never figured you for a racist.

Blaming your neighbors will not make your life better, it will make it more unbearable because you will only make enemys. You have completely Muslim areas in the middle east, completely christian areas in eastern europe and south america, and they are still poor.
If you want someone to blame, try your government, they are the ones pocketing the tax money.

To be honest, I don't buy this. From a theological standpoint, I don't think your dad is right about this.

From what you are describing to me about this religion, it sounds like the offers are only towards their own prosperity. It makes no sense to say that someone is doing something for their own prosperity would affect you. This is no different than ancestral worship in China or the rain dance (or may I even dare say, the prosperity gospel who thinks that as long as you put your faith in Christ, they will prosper in their lives). Unless they are actually cursing you, then demonic influence is a possibility. But I don't understand why someone would curse you?

Finally, from what you have been writing from past posts, I don't think it is through external spiritual influences. Now, can Satan do something in your life to make your life problems? Maybe. But from what I read, I think those problems are of your own and not from someone trying to curse you. Either way, it is still making someone a scapegoat for your problems when there is no clear reason or evidence that they are directing their offerings against you. But you still need to put your faith in Christ and to rely on Him for whatever situation you are dealing with right now.

tRIUNE : Here is the link to it, I posted on Vizzed Lodge.

https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=59379

Darkpower505:
thenumberone :
play4fun :

From what I remember, when we left Candomble, according to my mother for as far I remember, the person who hosted the religion in a certain area (when I were younger), didn't like the choice of my mother leaving the religion and start serving God, my mother actually spent quite a lot of money at that time, and people from Candomble seeing my mother leave it, probably made the offers to 'punish' my mother for leaving it, as far I remember.
We getting on Candomble was a big mistake in our part, the use of money for all those things were quite high, and this probably affected my father in his way of thinking, he seeing Candomble didn't give much positive results, he blamed my mother for joining it for quite a while, my mother blames him for her ending up finding Candomble and vice-versa.
I believe I had many bad influences when a kid during the Candomble, specially from my parents, and this probably affected my way of thinking about the Candomble.
For about numberone saying about the Government, I also agree with that point, and now that you said it, that comment was kind of a 'slap in the face' for me, it made me remind that today the economy is not so good, like the past years (before 2007).
And numberone, I think I should 'put the cards on the table', not that I want to incriminate my father, no, my father is an awesome person, he also made many bad mistakes in his life, but my father in many moments of anger made racist comments, he doesn't do it anymore, but he did and I kept it to me.
Sadly, maybe, I am the kind of person that takes everything to himself, if my family have a problem and they comment it to me, I feel bad for them, I can't help it, it's my family after all, maybe that's a bad quality of me.
You guys made me realize, that during all my lifetime I been having influences from my parents, and that is something I admit it is no good at all, I personally don't hate any groups or religions, because in my inside, my personal opinion, I know everybody have a different perspective of everything, as long respect reigns, I don't mind if the person have a different religion, opinions or even sexuality.

But now I am going to ask a question that, if the answer is negative, I'm going to feel bad for stupidity of my part:

"Was this, and the other threads I made about my life, worth it?"

If you didnt gain anything from it, then its a complete waste of time.

If you feel its given you some clarity of thought then its as beneficial as you allow it to be. You wont feel better while youre uncertain, so these are all things you need to think about.

thenumberone : Nah, it was not a waste of time, you guys actually helped me.

With your comments, you all helped me think this more clearly, so this thread was worth making, for one thing I am 100% sure and you will all agree with me: It is better to make a mistake in an online website than to commit a mistake in real life.

Thank you everybody, this thread had it's use, if any of the

Seishiro Leonhart :

When I saw you're first post I was filled with anger. I thought to myself: "people like you create their own issues and hope that they'll get better by doing nothing, and that your bigotry is what causes problems the world over." However, I was wrong to think this about you; and as I read a few more posts I began to see I was the one actually being a bigot. I'm sorry for that, truly I am. I realize now you were just misinformed and it's totally not your fault and by posting these threads are your attempt to educate yourself and become more knowledgeable. I applaud you for that. You should always try and discover new branches of thinking outside your own. The world is too small a place not to.

As for whether or not these threads were worth it well that's really up to you. The great thing about the Internet is the chance to reach across the world and get knowledge from anywhere in the world, and through global social interaction you can learn a lot about yourself. If you discovered a lot about yourself, expanded your ways of thinking and even learned you can be a little more independent in your thinking and beliefs than I'd say this was pretty worth it.

Keep thinking, keep believing, but never ever stop listening and learning.

I'll leave this open till tonight in case anyone does have anything beneficial and helpful to say. If I see anything that goes south, I'll close.

As for me, you should focus more on being devoted in God's Word and to abide in Him. Do everything in the Glory of God and to do everything as an example of a loyal follower of Christ. No matter what is thrown at you, whether if it is your personal struggle with sin and other people's sins, temptations, demonic influences, or whatever life brings in this broken world, just remember that God still in control and is still there with you. As long as you have faith in Him, nothing will separate you from Christ.

Pardon me Seishiro, I know I wasn't summoned to this thread, but I don't see how what these people are doing can hurt you, if you aren't doing it yourself.

What I have always been told is that if you have a rough life, that's God, keeping you in line. If you belong to him, and are his child, he has to make you behave. But what God does isn't for humans to understand. Humans don't think like he does, they can't. But there is always a reason for what he does, even if we don't understand it.

 - This is how I have been taught. We live in different parts of the world, so we most likely think differently on this matter. I'm not sure if this will help you at all.
