Those things actually didn't creep me out as a kid, but when I play Pokémon LeafGreen now when I'm a little more aware of things, I can't help to be creeped out as well. I mean, the mother Marowak was 'killed' by Team Rocket. Not defeated, or taken captive, but literally killed. And now the Marowak terrorizes you and your Pokémon in the Pokémon Tower. Brrr!

Reading the posts for this discussion reminded be of a video I saw once. It's about this pastor who explains the evils of Pokémon. He says that there's many evils in Pokémon like death and making animals fight with each other. And you know what, there are a lot of bad things in Pokémon if you think about it. But who cares? Pokémon is still really fun! 

charmaster : The stuff in FireRed and LeafGreen is pretty much the same as in Red and Blue. And who says it's fake? That's of the creepiness about it. It's all a mystery... Except if you're talking about the creepypasta. In which case, it indeed is fake. xD

indyman11 : While it is very creepy when I think about it, I don't think it's bad by any means. It spices the story up a bit. And I don't think children have much problem with it either. You've probably heard of the fairytales 'Hansel and Gretel' and 'Little Red Riley Hood'. Those tales are pretty gruesome when you think about them years later. It doesn't make them bad, it makes them all the more interesting to talk about.

indyman11 : LOL. Sorry, but you mean there are a lot of bad things in Pokémon? Almost every other popular game series has worse things. Pokémon is for players all age, and that's okay, because there's actually not one thing that's bad about it, in my opinion.

About four months ago, I've heard about this pastor or whatever, as well, and it was really ridiculous. "Oh, the pokémon are evolutioning. Evolution is not religious, it is the evil." - lol, it's just a game.

And to the main topic of this thread, Pokémon hasn't much "creepy stuff". People shouldn't believe in creepypastas. (Especially if they are completely nonsense like the most.) :p

I think the creepypasta is real I actually have seen a screenshot if Buriedalive for the game all the other stuff besides Buriedalive is fake though usually the parts of the creepy pastas that involve a individual person is fake.

austipokedude : Buriedalive may be one of the better made creepypastas. But screenshots and videos are no proof. I have seen both and there are two possible ways these videos and pictures were made:

• They were manipulated.

or

• They are real recordings of a Pokémon hack that was made to support the creepypasta. (That's the more probable thing.)

But even when the pictures and videos are not fakes, the creepypasta itself is just a story that's supposed to be creepy.

I wouldn't necessarily call Lavender Town scary, but it is definitely unsettling. But I liked this, it really gives a serious and dark tone to an otherwise cheery and happy game. It provided a nice change of pace. It is a really pretty sad place though, I agree with you. With the cemetery tower and the NPCs blabbering about how much they miss their deceased pokemon, it is pretty sad. But I don't think that any of it should be taken out of the game.

Yea like lavender town. What was Nintendo thinking like sheesh it is super scary to little kids and even scary and freaky to older audiences. Luckily the song was somewhat changed in heart gold and soul silver but yeah that town is evil and surrounded by death.

Of all the games out there, Pokemon is the topic of discussion for having something to 'creepy' or 'mature'? i was in 4th grade when Pokemon became popular here, and there is absolutely NOTHING about Lavender Town that is too much. Not trying to be offensive, but anyone who gets legitimately creeped out, scared, or nervous about Lavender Town in a POKEMON game really needs to toughen up a little. If that scares you, I would not want to imagine what other things in real life would scare you. 

And LeDestitude already said what I was going to. This is a Japanese game. They made a town like this because there are places like this in Eastern cultures. Giant shrines and small townlike areas completely devoted to the dead as a place of honor. That is what Lavender Town is. The creepy implication is more of a Western way of thinking. 

Even in the GBA remakes they still have a Lavender "Doot dat deet bop doot dat deet bop" creepy melody.

charmaster : I can agree with you on that.There is some pretty weird stuff in Pokemon games.The Pokemon animals can look weird at some thimes.So I do agree with you on that.There are kids at my school that love Pokemon, but I do not get what the big deal is.

Hello! To be fully honest, Lavender town is a creepy place and it is in some ways not suitable for a child. However, I played this game throughout my hole childhood and I didn't find anything wrong with it. I mean you isn't witness any fatalities in the game, so it wasn't all that bad. I think this town really adds to the feel of the game and the game really wouldn't be itself without it.

charmaster : Yes, you are right, I know them, haha. Quite funny and really too weird. But still, I don't think anyone should have a problem with it. Pokémon has no age limit, but if there are some kids who really find this creepy (what I can't understand) they shouldn't play it.

Just don't look lavender town up on creepy pasta It gave nightmares.

Scary stuff is not my forte. I hate scary stuff. But most of the ghost Pokémon are alright. It's the Mime's and the fighting ones that creep me the heck out.
