(Warning: Site content in links may contain adult language). I apologize if this is in the wrong place, I did my best to determine the appropriate place to put this Ad. As a player of a particular text-based roleplaying game, I thought I would post an advertisement here to help them out. The game is called Match of the Millennium, and it based off of many popular fighting game series including Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Final Fight, Tekken, and more. The game has an in-built, automated, combat system to help supplement the roleplay. It is one of the most intricate combat systems ever coded for a text-based game. Using commands like 'compose', 'attack', 'stats', 'counter', 'interrupt', 'block, 'dodge', and more players can engage each other in combat and the system will track, report, and make decisions about the outcomes based on the character's inherent statistics and abilities. The game is not a button masher, however, and demands literacy when roleplaying. Let me provide you with an in-game example of a portion of a roleplay (adult language replaced by ####): "COMBATSYS: Dan has started a fight here. [\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < Dan 0/-------/-------| COMBATSYS: MURDERHOUSE has joined the fight here. [\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > //////////////////////////////] MURDERHOUSE 0/-------/-------|-------------- Dan Dan is no complete fool, he's aware he just challenged someone to a fight, and the guy has so far shown himself to be aggressive. "Sure, I'll shake your hand..." And shake the guy's hand, he does. He extends his hand to grab that if his opponent, an autographed photograph palmed to put into the other person's hand with the motion. That is, if the massive guy doesn't drop it right away. "...Saikyo-ryu style." And he just goes to put his other hand into MURDERHOUSE's chest and use those two place as a method to get the drop on him by turning around and throwing, or trying to throw, MURDERHOUSE to the ground. "Are you going to pay for my door?" COMBATSYS: MURDERHOUSE endures Dan's Seoi Nage. [ \\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > ///////////////////////////// ] MURDERHOUSE 0/-------/------=|=------------- Dan ####, the #### didn't fall for it. The original plan was to shake Dan Hibiki's hand only to kick him in the balls, but now he's been grabbed, and thrown right into a collection of folding chairs neatly arranged against the far wall. Many of them smash and warp against him, but he immediately springs to his feet, almost uncaring of the impact he'd just endured. In fact, the grungy, hockeymask wearing man breaks into an immediate charge straight toward the pink-gi wearing "fighter". No questions about what he was trying to do, he wanted to run 'past' Dan, grab the man's pony tail, and use it to throw him to the ground, hard enough to shake the building. If it worked, anyway. COMBATSYS: Dan blocks MURDERHOUSE's Medium Throw. [ \\\\\\\\\\\\\ < > /////////////////////////// ] MURDERHOUSE 0/-------/------=|==------------ Dan" You can choose from any character from the series that are included in the game's theme provided they aren't taken, or you can make your own. It's reccomended to play a canon character for your first time, due to the intricacy of the combat system and the level of knowledge required to construct balanced characters though. MotM has, admittedly, hit a slump in player activity as of recently. But while this means there are less players writing stories now, it also means even more opportunity for new players to take the reins and make history. In fact, many of the more popular characters are available to be played NOW (Ryu, Iori, Billy and Jimmy Lee, Mike Hagger, Jin Kazama, ... the list goes on!). Also, due to the slump in activity, application cooldown periods have also been temporarily suspended. So grabbing the characters you want to play has never been easier! If you would like to connect and check it out, I have included instructions below. If you'd rather read logs of in-game play to get a feel for the roleplay, go here: http://motm.kicks-ass.net/logs/published.shtml To connect, it is generally reccomended you download a more full-featured client like SimpleMU. However, if you want to take a peek before committing to that do this: Go here: http://www.phudbase.com/wm_client/ and for host type motm.kicks-ass.net and for port put 2002. Once you connect, type connect guest guest to login as a guest. To ask for help in-game, type guest Now for the vizzed... I am promising the first few applicants for the game gets 1,000 vizzed. To get the vizzed, you must successfuly have your character application approved. After you've gotten your character, you can PM me to get your vizzed. It's a paltry sum for the effort, I know, but the vizzed alone should not be the reason you are joining. Lol.
