Should you tip the UPS guy? Do you? Would you? I never did before but I'm considering it.

I've never tipped one in the past but I have some things arriving any day and I'm wondering if anyone tips them.  Not a lot of course, maybe three to five dollars.  I know I don't have to and I won't feel guilty whenever I probably don't again.  Just wondering if anyone does.

Actually. This is the first time I have ever heard of anybody "tipping" a mail delivery guy. What made you think about this in the first place, just wondering? As for the question? No, I have not, but I might now, thanks to this thread. :/

I never tip the guys who deliver me crap. They get paid by their employer. Pretty decently I hear.

If you want to, you can, it's certainly a nice gesture, but it's by no means required. Three to five dollars is more than fair. Plus, it might convince the guy to deliver to you faster in the future if you order more stuff.

thing1: I didn't really even know why I was thinking it at first but I just realized I'm getting a $140 jersey that I've always wanted and $60 worth of other things I want so when they arrive I'd be in such a good mood I would tip the delivery guy too. I think I might give him $3. Is that a good enough tip? I guess it should be for a guy that doesn't get many tips. I'll be like "Here, get yourself a snack". Hopefully he doesn't take it as some sort of insult and be like "**** you buddy".

Yeah they do. The average UPS driver's pay at  09/01/2012 was about $78,000 in cash, and benefits of about $30,000, But drivers with enough seniority can get more overtime by "bumping" junior employees

and  15 hours a week can earn over $100,000. 20 hours a

week can earn over $111,000 cash, over $30,000 in benefits.

So senior drivers can earn OVER $139,000 in cash and benefits. There

are ways to earn a few thousand more by working vacations and

overlapping vacations with paid holidays.

I usually tip at places like Sonic, where they bring your food to you, resturants and even a drive through tobaco store because they get your stuff for you. I never even thought of tipping a delivery guy but since I'm not real rich I myself would tip somebody else that doesn't make a lot of money. This might be kind of off topic but I have heard of people in the drive through at Mc Donalds that pays for the order behind them, how nice lol.

I have never tipped the ups or fedex guys. I have never even thought about tipping them. I don't have the money to tip them and don't plan on tipping them even if I did have some extra cash.

What! Why would anyone try to trip the UPS or FedEx guys? That would be so i mature, as you can tell, I have never done that and will never do it.

Probably not, considering I don't even order any of the packages. If I was older, I might though.

Don't tip the FedEx or UPS guy. They are not suppose to accept tips. They make good enough money.  I am a manager at a FedEx terminal and that is a big no-no.

I've heard people leaving gifts or "tips" for garbage men and mail delivery guys for the holidays...people that come to your house every day/week but never heard of anyone giving tips to the FedEx or UPS guy.

I would say no, there is no reason to tip him.

I have never had a person from UPS deliver anything to me, but if he did I certainly would not tip him. I worked for UPS briefly some years back, and the rate of pay is quite good as it is, especially if you work nights.
