The chat room use to cost 1 Viz per each minute you spent in there, now it has been increased to 3 Viz.

3 reasons for this:
1. To decrease the amount of drama that happens in the chat room
2. To help increase the value of Viz
3. To encourage users to contribute more to the site

Staff still get charged 0 Viz for being in the chat room. Also, you still need at least 100 Viz to enter the chat room.

Oy, this will hurt me a little. I could have had 61,761 (before this post) minutes in chat.

Now I only get 20,587...

Just kidding, even if I never did another thing for the rest of my time here on Vizzed (unlikely), I'd have 343+ hours of chat time in the bank.

I guess this is a good call, but I'm worried this will cause people who only use the chat room to get mad. Because they don't "want" to contribute. Could lead to people moving to Skype or Steam, or somewhere else to do their chatting.

I support it though.

legacyme3 : If people start using other ways to chat, than I can decrease the price to 2 Viz. The majority of the drama in the past have involved the chat room in some ways.

Users get 100 Viz for coming to the site daily, that's enough for 30+ minutes of chat time right there.

I should note that I'm not terribly concerned though. If they come to the site every day, and do literally nothing to make the site better, then they don't really need to be here, and we can't miss them if they never did anything in the first place.

I'd also suggest raising the costs of RGR games in that same vein... but that's another day's work.

Why did you choose to let staff people be free in the chat but normal users pay?..
this is pretty ridiculous just because they are staff doesn't mean they can't pay in the chat.
since most of the staff have over 50000 vizz they can easily use it for the chat room. And normal users would have 5000-10000 doesn't seem legit to me.

well I'm someone of the same right.. Don't get me wrong. That's my nature.
but i guess you have your reasons for it.

anyways does the price increase more in the next 5 years?.. Or will it stay at 3 Viz. Or will it be decreased to 2 or 1 again?.
because if its only get more expensive.. Only the staff people would be able to chat in the room. Since they are free to talk.
other then that i would consider the reason behind the cost increasing is a good reason.

the fact that staff doesn't need to pay this toll is just a bit unfair in my sights.
IF i got the chance to donate etc i would love to do it. But.. See, I'm not the richest person on earth.. And my girlfriend and i are planning to live together.. And since i don't have much money. This will be hard.. So my girlfriend and my relationship will go first f you don't mind..

legacyme3 : The only reason I'm cautious on raising the prices of the RGR games is because I don't want to encourage users to go to another site to play the games. Now days there's plenty of sites on the internet that have SNES, GBC and NES games so if a user can't afford to play them on vizzed, than they might leave and go to one of those sites.

I don't have a problem with having high prices on games that only vizzed has, which includes N64, GBA, Sega CD, Arcade and a few others but the prices on some of those games are already really high. The Viz price of some Sega CD and Arcade games are in the 1000s. Some of the N64 games are pretty costly too, especially some of the Hi-Res Texture Pack games.

I think having additional features for the RGR cost a lot of Viz is a great way to help solve this problem though. For example, the Netplay item costing 25,000 Viz and the possibly future PSX item costing 50,000 Viz.

Yngwie : Staff need to be encouraged to use the chat room so that they can moderate it. If staff were charged Viz, than they wouldn't want to use the chat room and if the staff didn't want to use the chat room, the chat room wouldn't be moderated.

The price could potentially decrease to 2 Viz sometime in the future but I expect that it'll always stay around 3 Viz.

+ the vizz you earn for posting and rating etc.
since staff people are a lot on the forum. And some of em even donate. vizz/money will not be the problem for hat i think.
for children under 13 years on this site needs permission of their parents to donate.. I think no parent will give permission to donate on some gaming site. Since parents wants there children to spare money for the future.

well as i already said. I'm someone of the same rights.. If staff are free to use normal users should be to in my opinion. Or the opposite. If normal users have to pay , then staff needs to pay to.
for the control of normal users to spam or what so ever and to have staff users to moderate the chat was a good explanation.
but still i think staff should pay to. Maybe not every 1 minuet. But every 5 minuets.. Well this is just my opinion. Its not a change of facts.. If you don't like the idea feel free to ignore it.

anyways.. As what legacyme said for increasing the RGR price.. Its a bad idea.. I would suggest to lower the sell price instead of increasing the play price.
maybe even decrease it for some games (again if you don't like the idea just completely ignore them I'm just giving my ideas and opinions for the site)
does net play also works with pay systems?. So no. Then i would suggest that. The same way as with threads.. Pay a certain toll for creating a net play. And earn a small amount of vizz for each user of your net play ( i don't know how the net play system works to be honest. And its just a idea.. Feel free to ignore it if you feel like)

Yngwie : Viz isn't a problem for staff but it doesn't make sense that the staff would have to pay to be in there when I want them to be in there. I want staff to spend a lot of time in the chat room and I want non staff to spend less time in the chat room.

A forum cannot be run by the users, there has to be powerlevels and higher up members. A forum is a dictatorship, not a democracy or a form of communism. So yeah, not everyone has the same rights on a forum, that's just the way it is. If it was any other way, it just wouldn't work.

Charging users to create netplay sessions is actually an idea I've thought of and might do sometime in the future.

i agree with the fact that staff members are needed in the chat. And if you want them to be there it would be indeed a pretty weird idea to ask them to pay for it while you want them to be in there. This gave me a good explanation. Thanks

Why do you say staff get free chat but most rgr staff have to pay? The only ones who have free chat are the netplay mods. 

Davideo7 : i don't really go to the chat room that much so i won't get to much Viz for this but this was a great idea though .

This is gonna hurt me alot and encourage me to make more vizz since I might lose alot now from going into the chatrooms and I don't think vizz would necessarily lose the drama in the chatrooms though it will only reduce the amount of time that people stay in there.

earthwarrior : I think all RGR Staff have to pay. They're not moderators so therefore they're not an exception. The netplay chat room doesn't charge Viz.

Davideo7 : There is a problem with that however. People can just use the chat box in the net-play, open the general chat and close the net-play lobby tab. Giving them free chat. ( This doesn't add to there total chat time. )

Maybe all the rooms should be inaccessible besides the net-play lobby chat room in the net-play lobby webpage.

iN008 : They can do that but than they have a small screen to do their chatting. I currently don't have any work arounds because the flash chat that I use is limited on what you can do with it since it's not an open source flash chat (it's one that I bought).

I like this. I noticed that is costing me 3 Viz a minute, instead of 1 Viz a minute. I like this idea. It is working, and it is keeping the people who do not need to be there out of there, and the real people in there. I like it.

Personally I say this is a change for the better do to Viz being so easy to earn every day lol. I see the prices barely changing but just by a little bit
