play4fun : Well, the idea is to base it off of yours. But, I think I am going to ask the globals for approval to take over Leggy's Vizzed Summer Camp thing that he did last year. I could get your guy's help on certain areas. Some days would be games... random trivia... Army stuff, religious (in general) stuff. What do you and SIngelli think about that?

play4fun : Rooting for me for what?

I also noticed you mentioned SSB in an answer. I've gone through a few GC controllers playing SSBM, I can only imagine what would happen if I ever got the chance to play SSBB..... poor Wii controllers/nunchucks..... poor tv.....

Dragoon26 : I guess I wasn't all that clear in my post.  I was talking about the religions that -are- similar (such as the more widely followed sects of Christianity or related faiths).  I wasn't talking about religions which are totally different (like the Horus example play4fun gave).  Sorry for the confusion!

This one's for Singelli: , alright? If you could choose any one user on vizzed to become a local, who would you choose?

play4fun : How much of the Bible have you memorized?

Both of y'all, have you read the Bible cover to cover?

mrfe : I've read from cover to cover. Some books more than others. As for memorizing, that's a little tricky because I am terrible memorizer especially when you asking about chapter and verse. Plus I tend to interchange versions a lot, so when I were to quote one from memory, I might jumble my exact words or paraphrase. Still, there are verses that you just can't forget, especially when I think about them while witnessing or when reading other parts of the Bible.

Nobody ever said an "Ask Anything" thread would be so hard!!! *cries*

Okay, so I'm teasing.  But seriously.... whew!

mrfe
:  This was a really, really, really hard question for me.  I had to think and think and think on it.  Personally, I know TONS of people that I think would make wonderful local mods, and I'm more than certain that there is at least one person I didn't think of when weighing the options against each other.  I think well of enough people that the whole current staff could probably be replaced with those I think would do a good job.  However, after all is said and done... I THINK this is my opinion:

I'd love to see rcarter2 come back as at least a local.  I know he's too busy for a global position, but I've always thought he was one of the best we've had.  Since I'm not sure that would count, I think my first choice would be Eirinn.  I thought and thought and thought about this, but basically, I came to the conclusion that Eirinn is like a mixture of you and play4fun, and I think the balance is a good one.  Guess who my next two choices would be?  play4fun and you.  haha.  I think the three of you are probably some of the most sensible people on this board.  You would enforce rules fairly, while making feel welcome. You wouldn't mock members, bully them, or show favoritism.

I've also got my eye on two newbies as well, that I think have the potential of being wonderful candidates, but I won't name them quite yet. Maybe after they've stuck around for a few months.

As for reading the bible from cover to cover, I've discussed the issue with you!  No, I haven't.   But I'm working on it!

slimeface1212:  I'd be lying to say that I wasn't.    I think all of us fear something, even if we won't admit it.

iN008 :  play4fun?  Uhh... should I send this to you in pm?
LOL, I kid.

play4fun... is amazing.  I remember my first few days on vizzed, reading his posts and being at awe with the words he used, the wisdom he displayed, and the depths of his posts.  In fact, you can say he's a HUGE part of why I started getting more involved and voicing my opinions here.  Although I loved what he wrote, however, I did feel as though he was very strict, not very much fun, and probably a little boring.  (Sorry play4fun!)

When we started doing bible studies with vizzed users, I was afraid that conversation with him would be awkward.  From the first bible study though, he showed me that all my fears were silly.  He's one of the funniest and wisest people I know, and I'm honored to know him. I know that if I ever have any issues in real life, I can talk to him about them, and he'll keep them to himself and offer me biblical and sound advice.  He even once stayed up with me (via chatrooms) until 4am in the morning when I had an emotional breakdown once, to ensure that I would be okay.  I won't say more about his good qualities in order to keep his embarrassment at a minimum.

Singelli : Here's another hard one (hopefully). I just like making the questions worth your time! XD

Ok. You've got the opportunity to move to your dream place, but you'd hate the job that awaited you. Would you move?

Also, on a scale of 1-10, how much do you like the beach? (random, it's in my blood. lol)

play4fun : Another one, lol. Same questions as I asked Singelli, though I can guess your answer. Now, for the question just for you. True or False: Real men wear pink.

Singelli :

play4fun :

I love how this ask anything thread is in the christian section. I myself am a christian but I currently don't go to church at this time for personal issues.

There is something though that has been laying on my mind for a couple of years now I just haven't found anybody who could lay some kind of in site on this for me.

When I used to go to my old church the Pastor preached one day about a sin which is the only sin that god does not forgive I think it's called blasfamee or something I'm not sure how to spell it. He said if you had no idea what it was and were confused about the whole thing that it didn't concern us.. like the part about if we commited the one and only unforgivable sin.

My true question to both of you is what is the definition of this word.. when I still went to church I asked many times from both my pastor and my youth pastor what the meaning was and it was really hard for them to explain the whole thing which ended up making me more confused. Which makes me know for a fact that I have never commited it. This happened back when I was still 14 years old so I haven't asked about it sense .. I just want to know more about it .. what is means.. and can you only commit it out of pure hate in your heart or what.

Hope this post isn't to confusing.

mrfe:  You're not allowed to ask questions anymore!  JK!  I thought about this question a bit as well. At first, my inclination was to shout, "No! Are you crazy?!"  I'm very, very passionate about my job and I'd want to be in a place where I feel I can make a difference and actually accomplish something.  However, nearly seconds later, I realized I was kind of contradicting myself on that idea, because I remember saying the exact opposite this year.  I've been utterly miserable for a few months now (concerning my job), and I absolutely hate the city I live in.  I remember thinking to myself that I would be able to handle the exact same job out in the country side because I'd at least be somewhere I love, and I could come home, sit on my porch, and unwind after the bad day.  I have this 'dream' image, if you will, of coming home every day and sitting in a rocking chair on a porch... sipping tea.... and being surrounded by green farmland.

Oh yes, I'd move.

As for the beach, I've only ever really been a handful of times in my life.  Only once by choice. I don't get out much, and the other times I visited the beach were during a short stint of my very young childhood: my father had to do a month of training in Florida before we moved to Alaska.

I'm not sure how I feel about the beach. I love the idea of it, but I also have very few memories or experiences of it.  I love the IDEA of it, but I don't like being around lots of people, and I'd want to be by myself to enjoy it as only I can. Not to mention, I'm extremely modest, and even being dressed in the most conservative of bathing suits, with a shirt thrown over, would make me a little uneasy.

So.... maybe a 6, or a 7?

Bintsy :  It's funny that you mention the concept of 'blaspheming', because we were JUST reading one of those verses this morning in bible study.  Mark 3:29 says "But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit has never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation."

There are (I
think) many ideas on the meaning of this one unforgivable sin.  Many people say it's not clearly defined in the bible, and I've heard a few debates over the issue.  However, if you read through this chapter of Mark, the discussion is about how many people thought Jesus did His work through the influence of satan. Jesus began to rebuke that thought, speaking on the idea that a kingdom divided cannot stand, and so why would satan go against his own?  Continuing along this thought, and keeping in mind Mark 3:29, we can make more sense of verse 30: "Because they said, He has an unclean spirit."

It is often maintained that the "unpardonable sin" is when someone "rejects Christ as Lord and Savior".  However, verse 30 defines what exactly that sin is.  The scribes said that Jesus did His miracles by an "unclean spirit", attributing the work of the Holy Spirit to satan's power.  If sinners to not acknowledge the Holy Spirit's work in their lives as being from God, they cannot be saved.

It is only by the Holy Spirit that men are convicted of their sin (John 16:8) and can understand the salvation that God offers (1 Corinthians 2:12-14).  Those who resist the Holy Spirit and are 'uncircumcised in their heart', and stubborn.... those people will die in their sins according to Acts 7:51.  Anyone who rejects the Holy Spirit's convicting influence and does not repent, will not be forgiven.  (Matthew 12:32)

I hope this helps!

Thanks that helps a lot. The scriptures you gave me helped me to understand more and I feel a lot better about the subject now.

Singelli : have you ever wanted to be famous? I was in a forum and there was a thread that was asking if you could be somebody else like a celeberty who would you choose. I said I couldn't be anything else except me. I don't want to be anybody else and I'm happy with who I am now. I do think it would be cool to be famous .. people do say no relaxation and stuff but I never get privacy and relaxation a lot anyways. What about you?

Sorry, I am finally able to sit down and start writing through this. My computer crashed before, so I lost everything that I wrote previously....Hopefully this time it will go through.

iN008 : Hmm....Singelli...how should I put this subtly...

Some of you probably don't know her as well as I do since we've been doing Bible Study with the group together. She is a sweet young lady who really cares a lot about others. You would enjoy talking to her and she would not make you feel left out or neglected. Actually, she loves to talk in general. Always have something to say and really wants to interact with other people. Emotionally, she can be pretty jumpy and passionate. When she is excited, she REALLY gets excited; when she's upset, she rants a lot. She can be overly excited on some of the smallest things. She is very genuine in how she feels. You can also tell that she is a loving wife. And I don't know about her, but I am glad to be friends with her.

First time I encountered her is when she replied to my one of my posts that ended with "I -really- enjoyed reading your post! Well formulated, well written, and insightful. I didn't agree with -everything- you wrote, but for the most part, I concur! Kudos!" and other times I would get a lot of compliments from her And I would be thinking "...Who is this person?" But getting to know her more now, you would love to get compliments from her, because she truly means it and it's from the heart.

Bintsy : I think what Singelli said quite right. That time the pharisees attributes Jesus' healings as demonic powers instead of the Holy Spirit. They're blaspheming the work of the Holy Spirit by saying that that work is by Satan.

That was then though. Jesus already ascended to heaven, the Holy Spirit still works in our lives. So the way one commits the unpardonable sin now is the continual rejection and unbelief of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit continues to work in people's lives, so if someone were to resist the work of the Holy Spirit, the person would reject Jesus to be Lord and Savior. That is why if someone is still alive, they do not commit it till they die. This is when someone continues to hold their ground in their position, resisting and rejecting God till you die. The sin is not an act, but a continual commitment to resisting God.

A lot of people worry about committing the unforgivable sin. A wise person once told me "If they freak out about it, they probably didn't do it."

Also, there is a difference between blasphemy and blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy is using God's name in a dishonoring way, whether if it is through speech or your actions bring dishonor to God's name when you attribute your actions to God when it is actually against God.

mrfe : I don't really have an ultra high standard of living locations. As long as I can live moderately safe and comfortable and I have what I need, I don't mind to much about anything else. No need to be at a resort or in a 5 star hotel. As for work, I would want to work in a career that I would enjoy doing, so no, I wouldn't move if I hate the job.

Real men do wear pink and are not afraid to wear pink, but only if they wear them occasionally.

I've lived in about 5 places (Hong Kong, Singapore, Ohio, Massachusetts, Illinois) There are probably different living locations between all of those places, but in terms of regions, that is pretty much it.

How well do I write? Ummm, I think it depends on my mood and the time I write. I can write decently if I put my mind to it.

This question is a good one.

I can not remember why myself but it does sound fairly relevant.

It is about "David". (The one that Fights...Allot.)
Why did he not bail when his King was Obviously trying to eliminate him.???

There are usually fun tales that explain everything.
For me???
This tale may give me guidance in my current profession.

Good Luck To All.
Peace.

Hey, guys! What do you feel about a Christian exercising his (or her!) 2nd Amendment Rights and using a weapon to kill a person, say an intruder in his house?

You guys are always keeping me on my toes, aren't you?    Just as a side note, I know I'm not using my 'official' ask anything layout, but that's just because I'm so in love with this one.  XD  Maybe I won't be lazy next time!

mrfe :  Didn't I kind of answer that question already?  /teasing
Okay, so I've never had a
dream place to live in, per se.  I moved around too much as a kid and teen to really feel attached to one area, or to really ever consider settling somewhere.  I grew up moving every three years and thought it was a natural part of life, so picking a place to live was never something I gave thought to. However, as I mentioned earlier, I would love to live in the country.  I want to be surrounded with green land as far as the eye can see.  I want to watch horses' tails swat lazily around, and I want to hear cows bellowing.  I want to walk down a small road and buy fresh fruit and veggies from a little cart on the side of the road, directly from the farmer.

That small town/ country charm is what I crave.  Like I said, I would happily come home from work, sit on a rocking chair, and sip.. yes... tea.  (That's the drink of life, there!)  And I think if I had all that?  Well, you'd probably never see me here, 'cause I'd sit on that porch until I feel asleep every day, crocheting, reading, writing... just really unwinding.  LOL

That being said? I've always always dreamed of living in Australia.  Let's mix the two scenes together:  I want to live in Australian country side.

Bintsy :  Oddly enough, I would NEVER want to be famous.  I would hate that very, very much.  In fact, it'd probably make me feel more miserable than my current job of dealing with 100 emotional, self-entitled teenagers every day.  I'd hate the pressure of having to be 'perfect', I'd hate the lack of privacy, but most of all, I'd hate the attention.  You see, my real life self is almost completely opposite (personality wise) than my online self.  I'm shy to the point of ridiculousness, and I hate being around even a group of three.  It makes me feel awkward and uncomfortable.  I don't like people watching me, and I'm not very social.  I know that might sound odd, since I'm a teacher, but I assure you, it's true!  It's just, with teaching, I kind of have my online personality.  I feel comfortable in talking to my students and teaching/leading them.  It's almost like I'm a shizophrenic... one person at work and another person out of work.  LOL

play4fun :    I don't even know what else to say....  I feel I could die of embarrassment!

orionfoxgibson : Do you mean when the king was trying to kill him and David went into the cave to cut off some of his skirt?  to prove that he could have killed the king if he wanted to?

Although I think I know how I could answer that, I'm going to go re-read the passage just to be sure, and hopefully respond tomorrow.  That way I can feel more confident in what I'm wanting to say right now.
