The beast is coming, claiming to be god. And will force everyone to take the mark of the beast which will happen soon.

Me? I probably would. Why? Well lets see...

- There will be penalties

Also I been told that when u dont take the mark u'll be severely tortured!! Who would want to be tortured for hours and hours and still not die? imagine it.

Alright, well first off I personally believe the Christians will still be here when this happens. I wouldn't care to argue (not what you're wanting here, I know), but I do believe that a thorough examination of Revelation without clinging to anything we've been told it means, will reveal that. But hey, I'll be the first to say it: I can be wrong, and too often I am. I'll not be too proud to admit that. Wouldn't do any good anyway, because you guys know me too well to belive otherwise. lol

Second, I can identify with what you said about hearing we'll be tortured for not taking it, as I've always heard that too. However, in the past five or six years, I've begun to challenge that. To my knowledge, the Bible never teaches that anywhere. Though it does teach that we wouldn't be able to buy or sell, and if we didn't worship the beast, that we would be killed. Two seemingly different things, but who knows.

My answer: If I can still be saved, then I honestly believe I would stand firm in my denial and refusal of the mark, tortured or not. With God's help of course. However, again Biblically I don't know that if we're lost, we could choose to refuse. As it says in First(?) Thessalonians that God would send strong delusion on them that "received not a love of the truth". I admit I am not sure what the surrounding scriptures say in this passage, but if it means what it sounds like, those outside of the church wouldn't even be able to discern that it was wrong.

First of all mark of the beast is misinterpreted. It's not an actual mark on hand or forehead. Mark of the beast is your finger print, social security number, your credit card number, your street address, your email address, your license plate number, your name, your credit rating, the coins and money you use etc...

You say you cannot buy nor sell without mark of the beast which ultimately defines mark of the beast as money or things that are associated with ones identity that may require a purchase.

You will be tortured? Yea that already happens when when you got no money. Those with money are the mark of the beast, they do as they please in society and get away with it. Go to jail and have no money, too bad you do not have "Mark of the beast" to get you out.

Everyone has mark of the beast, its just some are in better standings then others is all and that is dependent on who they are and what their status is.

DwarvenKnuckleBuster : Soo I don't know if you are a Christian or not, but if you are interpreting Revelation in that way, you DO realize that that same book says that those who worship the Beast are those whose names are not written in the Book of Life (meaning, they are not saved) (Revelation 13:8)? Also, if you read the next chapter, it said that those who received the Mark of the Beast will suffer God's fury and "will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb." (Revelation 14:10). So all the plagues and the Bowls of Wrath that God sends will be inflicted upon those who have the Mark of the Beast? Plus the fact that those who receive the Mark will not have eternal life.

Temporary life of buying and selling is nothing when eternity is at stake.

I would not take the mark of the beast, for the very reasons play4fun listed.  Even if those verses -weren't- in the bible, I wouldn't.  God is sovereign and already has the victory.  Why would I insult Him in such a manner?

Your thoughts are dangerous for your spirit, and I suggest you do a little more reading and studying of Revelations.    If you don't understand it, I suggest doing some research within reputable sites.

I don't think the question is whether you will or not accept it but will you even realize that you've accepted it or not.

I imagine a great many will be deceived before the end.

Jigsaw has it better figured out than the rest of you it seems. Money right now seems like the most logical thing to be the mark of the beast. Maybe even update that to be credit/debit cards since fewer and fewer people use cash anymore.

Instead of buying and selling you can instead produce something and share it.

Hi guys/gals.  I know I'm new here - yes I've done the
test and the self introduction - but I would like to throw in my 2
cents. To first of all answer the question:  No, I will not take the mark
of the beast.  It is unfortunately not as simple as that.  I'll try
to keep this as short as possible.  There is a definite time line in the
bible of end time events.  This is a whole separate topic, so PM me if
you're interested in details .  I believe the rapture of God's church
will take place before this time.  There is evidence in the bible of this
and when (of course not a specific date - not even the Son of God knows this)
in the time line this will occur (again PM if you're interested).  After
the rapture, a 7 year tribulation period will follow, where horrible events
will occur to the world in general and to those who have rejected Christ.
However, there will still be those in this terrible tribulation period
who will realise that Christ is their only salvation and will repent and
believe.  Confessing that you follow Christ in this time will surely
result in torture and ultimate death.  Taking the mark of the beast then,
is a sure way of saying to God that you reject Him and you accept the authority
of the antichrist and Satan.  That's why it's so important to get right
with Christ NOW and not wait until that terrible time. You won't have to choose
then

Honestly this I could expound for hours. This is a wonderful issue for systematic theology!

Personally I would not take a mark. If its not God I am not getting involved.
There is no torture that can be done to my physically that could break me.
And the only pain I could suffer I suffer in the present so the beast can do what he likes.
God is testing me already. I know his presence. I know his love.
If it is not God I would hope I could tell.

The only mark I will take is Gods spirit on my heart.

I find it so hard as is to live a Godly life. I am not worthy of him and yet I am aware that no matter how I feel he has already accepted me and will keep me from harm.

I should add that as  a theology student I would love to explore this topic further but it is not integrally important to my studies at this time to do so.
Perhaps I will expound later when I have studied the text and topic in more depth.

Perhaps get a hold of the Greek and see what that says.

I completely deny any sort of truth to Rapture Theology. Rapture theology was never taught by anyone until the 1800s, and all the sudden now Revelation is not the most talked about book. A lot of Revelation has already happened (mainly chapters 1-13). The rest is imagery where some may be metaphorical and some may be literal, but there is absolutely no way to know. The whole things could be a parable. We have no idea until it happens. Instead, lets just love our God and love his children.

However, I would love to clear up one thing. The number "666" is not an evil number. It is not Satan's number. John tells us it is a human number in the verse. In Hebrew, the letters are also numbers. So, a=1, b=2, c=3, etc.. In this, the Jews use numerology. David, when spelled in Hebrew and added together, equals 14. This, actually, is what John is referencing when he says, "he who can calculate the number"; They have to know the system. Nero, in Hebrew, when multiplied, is 666. However, there are other manuscripts of Revelation that have 616, not the standard 666. Nero, in Aramaic, using the same system, is 616.

I said i would take it because to go to heaven id have to condone things i disagree with. All it takes for hell is not to support those things. So inevitably if hell were real that would be my destination. If the mark gained me something id be as well taking it, id be hell bound either way.
