4 way tie for 1st place, which has never happened. We had a 2 way tie for 1st once but that was the only tie we've had for 1st. This was probably the most participation we've ever had in a competition, I think I might do another Pokemon competition next month.

Congratulations to all the winners!  I'm so glad there weren't more people who were able to max out both stats, because I was fearing there might be a dozen or so, and the arguing would have been worse than it was.  LOL  Great job everyone!  I gave up once I saw how quickly people were finishing.  I knew there was no way I could keep up, and I don't know enough about Pokémon to have probably been successful.  good job to all four of you!    Guess you 'caught 'em all'!   (Yes, I"m aware that I'm a dweeb.)

Thanks for doing this, David. Not sure if I'll do as well next time, but can't wait to see what the new tie breaking requirements will be. Honestly, though, I doubt I would've done anything differently even if Time was announced as an initial factor. We all thoroughly believed that the original hack upload contained all of the Pokemon so I still would've wasted all that time in the grass looking for them either way. But anyway, thanks again, this was fun. My first time in the results of a competition! lol

I had fun with this and happy with the end result. Though it was not much vizzed, it was enough for me to be satisfied with. I now can afford the Labtop item!

My hope is the next competition is based on time of post (first to get to the best possible stats), personally, as that was what I assumed for this game... But I wouldn't mind some other factor. I like this sort of competition as it is not necessarily a speed run competition, which I just cannot get into (I make too many mistakes under pressure and have no patience to play a fast-paced game multiple times).

It was a nice contest, it's great to be a "Pokemon Master" :p, at least in this 2nd generation, congratulations to the 3 other ones of the "final four", thanks for the contest and for the vizs (even if I don't need them, I'll offer them to someone that needs them). And thanks to LocksmithArmy, this was a great hack.

earthwarrior : For my part, Amulet Coin (when held by a pokemon used in a battle, double the money at the end of the battle) and battling the final 4 (and red) again and again.

Satanos answered it pretty much. Once I found the in-game trade for Mewtwo, I started raising him. I beat the Elite 4 with my original team first until Mewtwo was strong enough, then gave Mewtwo Psychic and the three element punches and it could take on the Elite 4 by itself!

To save time, I only carried two other Pokémon so when the hall of fame came up, I did not have to wait an extra 3 Pokémon to go through the sequence, turned battle animations off, and the other two Pokémon carried fly and surf so I could go to the Pokémon league quite quickly.

I also sold all my excess stuff (TMs, healing items I wouldn't use, ethers and such), and took advantage of the Monday morning guy that lets you buy gold related items for less than they sell for when it came up.
