Review Intro . As some of you may know Mario bros 2 was not a official made game .Because the actual real Game was here in Japan. On The Faicom short for Family Computer. The Reason being because Nintendo Thought it was too hard for The United States Americans. So instead of Getting an Actual made game. The United States aka in North America Release. Got A Texture and Music Hack of Japans Doki Doki Panic game.  For The North America Release of Mario Bros 2 . Which I did not Understand Why it was so hard for North America Citizens. Considering The Fact Nintendo Had released very Hard games Like Contra. And Other Games that were pretty hard.Although The North America Released happened later on. In Super Mario All stars . Or Super Mario all Stars + Super Mario world. Nintendo  changed the Title To Super Mario Bros The Lost levels. But that was Before Nintendo Released Their Super Nintendo system,

                                

Graphics -

The Graphics are Exactly The Same As the Original Mario Brothers for The Nintendo Entertainment System . With Some Minor Changes like the Clouds now Smile and have eyes in the background. Also Different Changes for Level Design. Which is Expected Sense This Was the Actual Next Chapter or Squeal to Mario Bros .  Anyways Graphics Wise Gets a 10 . Nearly the Same as Mario Bros 1 With Some Changes.



Sound .

Again This is The Same Stuff That the Original Mario Brothers For The Nintendo Entertainment System, You Got every Jump coin sound effects as well as some other ones. The Soundtrack is Also using the Same stuff as Mario Bros 1. Anyways Gets A 9 . Honestly with the good sound chip. That The Nintendo Nes had. They could have changed The Music like in Mario Brothers 3.



Addictiveness The Same Reason is the long lasting Gameplay . This thing offers the good soundtrack controls. It is a bit more fun than the. Original Mario bros because its harder. Addictiveness Gets a 10 I found the Great soundtrack and good controls to be the best aspect of this game,



Story 5 usual Stuff Bowser has kidnapped Peach you need to Be Mario Or Luigi to go Save her.  The Reason Being Bowser Wants To rule . The Mushroom Kingdom. But Mario Always Seems to stop him . As usual Bowsers uses Peach to trick Mario and try to take him down.with All his Koopas and Goombas. To help.



Depth    Really it offers A lot of Levels and tricky ways To Beat them. All Music Story Graphics are the same. Even has the Annoying Toad at the End of the 1st Boss. Its Still hard and the game is pretty long . So Depth Gets A 10



Difficulty 7 they did Make Some Levels and Platforms Harder to Reach or access. The Original Mario Bros .Was Pretty hard To Beat. This one is Slightly harder . Controls Work the same has all responsiveness that you Expect.

  

Overall/final Ratings Its A great Game I still didn't understand Nintendo,s reason why they did not include this In The North America Version of Mario Bros 2 . 9.5 For Final Ratings

SuperCrash64 : It's false to say "It's not an official made game". It was "officially" made by Nintendo.

Honestly I prefer the Americian SMB2. At least it was something different. The Japanese SMB2 was just a rehash of the original. The graphics were sub-par to the American SMB2, and the music was exactly the same. What's so great about that? Who cares if it was modeled after some game that no one cared about?

As far as the review goes, you are getting better, so I give you credit for that. Keep up the good work.

Jordanv78 : i understand but it was a hack of doki doki panic. and that meant that it was not a fully completed game. but still you have a point . there .  i wish that everything would have new gameplay because nowdays people just seem to care about The graphics

SuperCrash64 : Yeah I understand that they swapped Pallates and all of that, but it was a fully completed and released game. You could beat it, it's not like its a beta title or something like that, so I fail to see what you are saying.

Also, the American version DID have new gameplay. That's why they released it. The Japanese version is just the same old rehashed crud with a few newer sprites thrown in. Honestly it plays like almost THE EXACT same game as the original. Same music, same graphics, slightly different levels and that's about it.

Jordanv78 : Considering the fact this version went unreleased internationally was because of the poisonous mushrooms you can't say it had nothing new.

Jordanv78 ughh you dont get my point .  Mario Bros 2 Japan is the True Game and The Squeal to The First Mario Bros . Mario Bros 2 US is just a hack not a full completed gameor squeal. You or Your Logic cant do anything to change that fact period . end of dicussion ! .

What I'm getting at is that you aren't representing yourself clearly. As in, I realize that now we all know that the game is a sprite swap of Doki Doki Panic (In essence) but the point is that it is a fully completed game by Nintendo. Heck, more things were changed in the US Mario from Doki Doki panic than what was changed from SMB1 to SMB2 Japan.

I'm not trying to change your mind, I'm giving you my point of view. Why that is somehow upsetting you is beyond me.

Jordanv78 : well it got reveloped by nintendo so i take back my statement about it being incomplete but even with some changes its still considered to be a hack.  one thing i did not get was nintendos reason to not release it like a expansion pack to mario bros. they said that the game was too hard for us citizens or gamers. but playing the japanese verison i didnt find it that hard.  anyways heres proof that us mario bros 2 is still a hack

I don't know why they didn't release it in the US till years later. My assumption wasn't because it was "too hard" that's a cop out. There were tons of games in the US released by Nintendo that were harder than that. The real reason I feel that they didn't release it in the US is because they knew that it was just a rehash of the old game with only a handful of new features, and they knew the US audience would turn their nose up at it because they were charging 50$ for the same exact game. Parent's would be upset too.

Having grown up during when these games were released, I can tell you that's probably how me and my friends would have reacted.

its still a good game nonetheless still it would have made good expansion pack to mario bros 1 though if nintendo did release it. at least we got to experenice it in mario all stars though

A hack is an unofficial version of a game that some person makes using a real game's programming. Since this was an official game, it isn't classified as a hack. The process of making American SMB2 is indeed the same process of making a hack, but because it is an official game, it is not a hack. Hacks are, by definition, unofficial changed copies of an existing game. Again, just letting you know that someone knows the accuracy of your statement.
