I am curious as to which day of the week does our trust points given get reset. I was planning on thinking about not giving any points out until the end of the week, but wanted to make sure when I knew what will be considered as the end of the week. I know some people consider Saturday the traditional end of the week, while others consider Sunday it, and some places just pick an arbitrary day for the end as well.

ruesen : I was wondering the same thing. I would guess sunday, but I'm not sure. I can however confirm it's not today.

Davideo7 ( not going to summon you ) I think it is still a popularity contest. Some people have a lot of trust points already.

I think if it gets abused a lot more we might need another new system.

Maybe you have to send a private message to the locals saying why a user deserves trust points. Then the locals will judge to see if they deserve the trust points. Since the locals can be trusted it wont get abused.

I definitely like this. Particularly, the rules that only staff+ can take away and users can lose them for rating up non-deserving users. I got sick of getting asked to look into who ganged up on someone and sent them down to -20 Points. It was turning into a bullying system for some.

so, let me get this straight. you are a trusted member if you have 5 TP?

it's not a perfect system but it does solve the bigger problems that people experienced here. It stops those with the most points from taking all the points from members that suddenly fell from others good graces.

I think that either everyone should be able to do a -1 regardless of level though but I understand that that could still get abused.

I'm happier with this system than with the old one even though I lost my 100+ points

Hmmm... I'm sorry if this has been answered, but there's something that confuses me about the weekly limit.

Does the time... loop over?  I'm not sure how to word it, so let me explain:

You activated the Rating ability mid-week last week.  Since I was trusted, I could rate up to 8 points for the week.  Then, my trusted points increased to where I could rate 12 points per week.

Well, on Sunday, the page for rating said "You have already rated 8 of 12 points" (or however it is worded).  This was the first time I had tried to rate on the calendar week. I used my four points and it then read, of course, that I had rated 12 of 12 points.  Well, even today, it says that I have used all my points this week, even though I've only given/ taken four points.

Does the week roll over, so that I won't be able to rate the 12 points again until mid-week?  (Wednesday or Thursday... whichever day it was that you activated the ability to rate.)

BNuge : if you rate someone a 2 and later rate than a 0, the user does lose those 2 points but any user who rated that user wouldn't be penalized. Penalties are only award for negative ratings. I should also point out that if a staff member rates someone -2, all the users who rated that same user gets penalized but if that staff member decides to change that -2 into something positive, those users would still be penalized unless the staff member first rerated that user a 0 and than something positive (if a staff member gives someone a 0 rating, it clears out any penalties that might have been given out to users who positively rated that same user). Hope that wasn't too confusing lol.

DarkHyren : How is anyone kissing up? I think almost everyone agreed that the system needed to be remade. The only reason you don't like the new system is because you lost your trust points so you're going to have a bias against it. People who deserved a lot of trust points will get a lot of them right back.

Keep in mind that I am willing to make adjustments to the system. At the moment we're just seeing how it goes.

earthwarrior : No matter what it's going to be somewhat of a popularity contest but it's definitely an improvement compared to before. The only way to truly make it not a popularity contest is if either actions made you trusted or if only I made a user trusted.

rcarter2 : Exactly, I agree. If someone hated someone enough, all they had to do is get a few friends and all gang up on a user and rate them as far down as they can. I don't want vizzed to be one of those forums where a new user gets ganged up on by veterans and since veterans had all the points and the ability to take a lot of points away from new users in the previous system, that made vizzed like one of those forums.

Popeye116 : You become Trusted at 5 but you can go as low as 1 and still be Trusted, just as long as you were already Trusted. If you go down to 0 while Trusted, than you lose it.

geeogree : Yeah you lost a lot of points but hopefully you can get a lot of them back.

Singelli : It should go back to 0 at the start of Monday.

haitamchouiekh : If you were trusted before this system was created, you would've been given 10 points to start out with.

Now that I think about it I did lose quite a few TP and alot of the TP I got came from people that were either banned or left the site.

I would pretend I care but I don't. I don't miss the points. I'm a Vizzed Elite and see no reason why I would lose that.

And I think this system will prevent a lot of the abuse that used to happen. It's still possible for someone to lose their trusted member status but not because 5 people decided to take someone down. You would have to have nearly every who voted the person up to vote them down to 0 and then have some staff members vote them negative. That's not likely to happen unless it was really deserved.... and then it's no longer abuse. It's not a perfect system but it's an improvement on the old one for sure.

Singelli : It's suppose to reset every Monday. You're sure it didn't early yesterday?

geeogree : And I think that's the attitude all of the Vizzed Elite should have. You can't get any higher than that without being staff and an Elite can't risk a demotion based on Trust Points so basically to the Elite, it's just a number that's pretty much meaningless.

Yup.  This is what I get no matter WHO'S page I go to.  I just took this shot a few seconds ago from your page.  (Of course, if I haven't rated the person, it doesn't say "You last rated this person at such and such a date and time).

I do think the new system is working pretty nicely. One thing I have noticed though that a ton of people have been upvoted and it seems easy to gain points...but it seems very hard to actually lose them.

I know why this was done but it may have unintended consequences down the road. I mean there are times when a person deserves to not be trusted anymore. Sure it's rare, but there are times when it's needed.

That brings up another question. Does banning a user have any affect on their TP? Didn't it used to?

yes, i was trusted before this. but i only had  7 trusted points, but i was still trtusted ? but now i have none. belive me, if you dont then look in the layout shop, i sold at least 10 layouts. and yet some of the people i know that were trusted now at least have 10.0 and some people like bluemagekyle were trusted and now he has 0.0 tp. oh wel fine, i will start again.......

Jordanv78 : Well the first few weeks I've allowed users to give out twice as many weekly points as they normally would be able to, so that's probably why. The other reason is that this is a new feature so everyone is testing it out and giving out points to people they probably previously gave points out to.

Banning has never had any affect but it's not a bad idea to do that.

Erm, I seem to have run into a bit of a glitch... I had rated 3 members up 2 points each, and when I went to give out the last two, it said that I had already rated my total of 8 points for the week. Is there some way this can be fixed or something, or do I just need to wait it out now? I can provide the names of the three I rated up today too, if needed as proof, Nya~.

Oh yeah, I was just about to say what Mega said.  LOL  If you give someone ONE additional TP, it counts like you gave them 3 towards your total set for the week.
I gave you and someone else 1 more TP, but it says that I gave away 6 TP already.
