I talked to a couple of people about this and I figure it's time to put the offer out there for everyone.
So here's the deal. I am really good at English and grammar, and I've noticed that a lot of people here...aren't.
A beta-reader is someone you'd send (PM, here on the site) a copy of your post and that person would go through and correct your grammar and spelling, as well as make suggestions for ways to improve it. They do not re-write it, and they do not change it, just fix things and help you make it better.
What kind of things would you use this for? Walk-throughs, reviews, stories...anything really. I wouldn't recommend it for everyday posts, but things that are going to be seen by a lot of people.
I'm willing to do this for very little Vizz, because I simply like to help people. I like the idea of helping to make Vizzed a slightly more literate place. I've been doing beta-reading for a long time. Before this, I've mostly done it for fan-fiction and original fiction posted at places like fanfiction.net and on Live Journal sites, as well as a few other places, and I've done a few manuscripts for people who were submitting them for publishing. I also do this in RL for several companies who have me check their newsletters and in-department announcement sheets for errors before they're distributed.
I would not insist that my name appears anywhere on the post; it's enough for me that it is better. I'm not doing this for recognition or anything.
If you're interested, PM me. Let me know how long the item is in question and I'll let you know what I'd charge. Like I said, the cost will be super-low, because I'm not doing this for the Vizz either.
