I have only seen a few episodes of Family Guy and I agree that it is not funny. Although there are times when I will think back on a scene an laugh at it, however, in context with the rest of the show or the meaning behind the joke, there is no humor for me. I don't think there is anything wrong with you, the punch lines can be funny, but the set up is often crude and very shallow. 

It's amazing to me how many other people like this show. But don't get me started on American Dad; I hate that show so much. 

People all seem to agree that it's stupid, but maybe that's part of the appeal, I guess.

Actually at times, especially lately, I have liked American dad better than Family guy, even though at first I concidered it only as a rip off of a rip off of a rip off. All Seth McFarlane shows are pretty much the same but the lack of pointless cut off gags is actually an improvment.

I guess it fits the generation's humor. Somewhat inappropriate and borderline jokes and puns, and situations. The sheer stupidity of the show is what drives us to keep on watching, I guess. Like a drug.

pacman1755 :  it is like a drug. i swear I'm never going to watch it, and yet I find myself turning it on....even to watch stupid reruns I already know I didn't like that much.

Personally Family Guy is just mindless humor. You don't have to think very hard to find it entertaining. It's funny that it got cancelled, then came back and was more popular than ever.

Really, I never understood why younger kids like it because like 80% of the jokes are pop culture references from the 70's 80's and 90's

I liked Family Guy for awhile, now I just find it stale. The jokes have all been done a million times.

Family Guy is pure satire, I love it. It's for adults, it's witty, and it's got a good message behind it.

The reason some would call it mindless is because they don't see the reason why it exists. Sure it exists to entertain people, but Seth MacFarlane makes the majority of his content to simply hold up a mirror to society, and say "THIS IS HOW STUPID YOU LOOK".

For that reason, I enjoy it. I've experienced people just like the characters, and I can relate to how dumb it comes off. It's hilarious in the jokes, but it's more or less cheap humor once and a while.

The pop culture references are great, but the jokes have been getting stale, but it's a good show that people laugh at themselves for.

There was once a time Family Guy was very witty with a hidden message or underlying theme in each episode. Sadly, that comes only every few episodes these days. It may have a smart joke here and there, or a nice "TAKE THAT" cut away gag to annoying celebrities or people of note, but a lot of the time, it is just regurgitating old plots with slightly different twists

There still have been some great episodes popping up here and there. "The Road to Multiverse," ended up being so liked, they made a game based around it! Heck, I enjoyed it too with the various art styles and gimmicks, not to mention making you think about the possibility of various types of universes with different themes. Same with the episode, "And then there were fewer," basing it off of the movie (and I think book?) "And Then There Were None." A nice murder mystery giving the show a much more serious tone while still throwing in a little humor to keep it from being TOO serious.

I still like Family Guy, despite some of its deterioration in quality, as the smart jokes are still in there. You just may need to really look for them as the simplified "dumb" jokes far outweigh them.

Beastmode64 : I agree with you Family Guy is Stupidly Funny but there's always new episodes every Mondays. I love the episode where Stowe and Bryan went on a road to Rhode Island to visit his grandparents.

People likes the TV show because, it's about comedy, satire, farce, and so on. It's designed to break the fourth wall.

I think people watch family guy for a good laugh followed by just funny random entertainment.

My thoughts exactly, alexanyways..... But I can see where some of those jokes get stale, etc, But I enjoy the show. What can I say? It's Mindless humor. Not only that, but if you look hard-enough You'll find some very clever jokes. Although, I don't laugh at the show as much as I used to, I love the show. And recently, even though this has nothing to do with the show, I've gained a new respect for Seth Macfarlane. Explaining it would be to difficult, but yeah. Lately the episodes I've been enjoying the most lately, would be the deeper episodes. Example? The episode where Stewie and Brian get locked in the room. It still has some Mindless humor, but It can be slightly deep. Another example would be (although not as deep), would be the episode "Meet The Quagmires." It goes to show that Peter Isn't the Mindless, Idiot, selfish guy he's portrayed as. (Sorry If I didn't state that correctly....)

But my point is, it CAN be more than just Mindless humor.... I apologize greatly If my post isn't related at all to this Topic, but here's my thought's.

Family Guy is a little funny but i don't really watch it because the show is stupid there is really know educational value of this show and people who are not old enough shouldn't watch it .

I honestly don't know. The jokes are annoying, the characters are annoying, it is kind of like a more tame, less funny version of South Park. Actually, it isn't like South Park at all. It just gets too repetitive and annoying. If you want crude humor watch South Park.

  Something is not wrong with you necessarily but you might have a sick sense of humor for some of the topics on Family Guy. I know I love it too. Especially the Surfin' Bird episode, but I don't really ponder over why I watch. Something always makes me watch it again though. Even if I don't laugh it is still plenty funny.
