The poster seems to Dig the Ones that get the job done. Even if they end up dying. (Not asking for much there.) (Joke Folk. That's a Joke.)

Normally I avoid talking about this game because the only people I know that play it are girls.
But since I Dig talking about Forgotten Hits..
I have to grace the topic of "Tenchu" and it's Female Star. "Ayame".



Many people love the bad voice acting. (It is hysterical bad. So bad you literally can not help but laugh at it. (Like ten games and still they can't get it right. I hope it's on purpose.)
Others fans of this game are big on ... "other elements." Just check out the music videos. It is kind of .. Awkward for some. (Due to how much it reveals about the videos creators.)

BUT...
I have to mention it some time.

I dig Ayame for many reasons but the one that sticks out the most right now? Is her patience. It seems Limitlessly infinite. (Granted it is decided by the player. But...)
It's A hard quality to find out here in California.
Then there are the snappy "one liners" from time to time. (Plenty of that in my town but not often does it come from a trained assassin. Heck I've seen grown broads fumble with dinner knifes out here. Let alone the murder tools Ayame favours.)

And last but not least...
I have to mention Ayame's fans.
For a chick that is not on the cover of every magazine? This girl was oddly popular with the female crowd. It was a feat to see.
Back in the day.
Funny part?
It has only been a handful of years.
Where are all the fans and Cos-Players now? (I hope they were not "all paid for actresses.")
Talk about a head trip for advertising.
Because like a ninja?
All the fans have... Vanished.

I think the latest incarnation of Impa (from Skyward Sword) has to be up near #1 on my list.  She was a strong character with a cool outfit, and never neglected her duty.  Spoilers:  I was blown away that Impa was actually Granny, although I should have seen it coming, in retrospect.  This was the ultimate reason she's #1 on my list.

It has been a few days and I decided to resurrect this thread for "Kicks and Giggles".

Next up?....
We have "Impa" from "Skyward Sword". (New Zelda game for those who do not know.) This is a first time for a "Impa".
She kinda took on the look and character of Image Comics "Zealot" after the "Ocarina of Time" game.

I must say that it is a grand improvement and a delight that Nintendo is continuing that theme of improvement. I'll load an image for kicks. (Or a link at least.)

Granted I have been chewing through "Bayonetta" as of late. but, for may entry I think a good remake or new game and cast might be better.
I decided to go with "Abby Chase" From "Danger Girl".
Granted the game was not well received, BUT, if people can give "Duke Nukem Time To Kill" a pass?
Then I suggest that people at lest give this game a look.
Back to the character?
She is Laura Croft, Indy Jones, and 007 all rolled into one. Plus she has "Back-up".
The Theme of danger girl is action and comedy so you can not take anything too seriously.
Witch is perfect for the modern generation of games that seem to lean on heavily on Dramatics or "Fan Service" sides of the game industry. Why not go with something that is at least rated "PG-13" or "T" for teen? (Intentionally. Not because of money to be had.)

Samus from Metroid and it's not even close. The only bad thing about Samus was the way her character and her being a fearless warrior was completely destroyed in Metroid Other M but luckily i'm just gonna consider that canon because that game stunk.

Samus from Metroid. The coolest, the strongest, the best. She's a freaking bounty hunter that travels through space and shoots space pirates and flesh-eating bugs and stuff. I mean, seriously, Samus is totally awesome.

 I say Regina from Dino Crisis because I feel she should make a comeback! Puzzles, guns, girls, dinosaurs. They sure knew what they were doing with that game!

I think I'm going to have to ask all of the her fans to Load up an image of what specific version of Samus they choose to worship.

Cause Honestly?

There are a thousand different Models for the art on that character.

(And I'm NOT even including the Cos-players.)

Everyone Can expect a variation from Concept art to 3.D. model.

That just comes with the territory of art and taste and the ratings boards. (Ratings People? Seriously?)

BUT compared to the thousands of versions of Samus that I have seen I have only seen three versions of Peach or any other game girl.

And Peach is an older character to boot.

So, I'll issue a challenge to explain the reason for Samus to be changing her looks all the time with what you dig about her. Or,,,

You can Load up an image of her along with your explanation of what you dig about her.

OR

You can load up a character creation formula for any game for her along with what you dig about her.

Any of those 3 conditions for the popular Samus.

I'm curious to see what this could turn up.

I Love Dino Crisis. A "Resident Evil" with just the same amount of Gore and Horror but with less of a "gross-out factor" and "goo".

My favorite female video game protagonist is lightning from Final Fantasy. I like lightning because she is a strong fearless character.

Samus again! I love the metroid series and samus is just plain awesome. 

I have two, Samus from Metroid Prime and Sam from Gears of War 3.

We have more "Samus" Shout outs (I'm thinking of Creating a separate thread for her. Particularly due to no one answering my challenge.)
Next one is... "Lightning" from Final Fantasy again. (Gotta be the pink hair.)

"Sam" from "Gears of War". (Nothing mentioned about the character. I have to assume she's the only girl in that game.) I never played "Gears of War." (Too Busy with my "Space marine Games".)
I might have to check it out. So many fans of that game series. They might be on to something. Who Knows?

I Decided to go with "Jade" from "Mortal Kombat".
Normally I would go for the Princess in Blue from that game, but the Fans with sharp additions are a little too lame for me. (If royalty were to get into a fight? I am certain they would bring some better tools for the job.)
Back to Jade.
Granted she is of lower ranking than a princess but...
Loyalty to her friend and country (or world) can be better than money and station.
According to the Wiki she is a General. Who could resist a General that has no problem doing the dirty work themselves?

Today I decided to make an entry from the Metal Gear Series.

Meryl.



Granted I skipped M.G.S.4.
But
I did play M.G.S.1 and the Girl is Great.
Then I checked out M.G.S.2 and, "low and behold", she is shooting at Snake.
Granted it is hard to be concerned for a girl that unloads bullets at you but Kojima pulled it off with this one.
You play some "Snake Tales" and you really have little to no expectation.
Peak around a corner and....
Here she comes guns ablazing.

The story could have been used in the main game but was was left out for unknown reasons.

Anyway.
The character.
She is "Tuff", Fit, and obviously not going to sit around and take $%!##.
Not the best Professional to have, But certainly not a Liability.
Cunning and Capable.
Has her own team. (in M.G.S.4.)

Because she is one of the few characters I could only use the Tranquilizer gun on and no other gun?

Jo Dark, aka. Perfect Dark. She was completely awesome. She broke into a bunch of places, killed a bunch of bad guys, made a taxi fly, and leave it all unscratched, all in the freaking 2020s. Who DOESN'T call that completely kick-butt?

orionfoxgibson : Everybody be picking Samus. I'm going to try something a little different.

Anyone here ever played that old PS2 release title called "Summoner?" Probably not, but if you have then you know what's coming. Fleece and Rosalind were great characters... even if Fleece did end up doing "Single Digit Damage" by the end of the game. But still as character they really worked out, and the surprise twist about 75% through was great.

Also, been playing the Advance Wars series lately. I think anyone who has played those games can Agree that Sami was a great Protagonist and had some of the best music in the game.

One more mention to leave it off, one of the ugliest games I have ever played was Bloodrayne 2. That ragdoll was so digusting I had to take breaks from the game just so I would not die from laughter. If you know the series then you know the magic. Rayne was Badass and good looking. She was also the only character I've ever known to spout one-liners, mid fight with the grand villain of the game.

So there's two with brown hair, one with black, and one red head for your list, and not a Samus in sight. I've done my work here so I'll leave you with this.

For me it would be a toss up between Samus from Metroid, Heather Mason from Silent Hill 3, Aye Brea from the Parasite Eve series, Shanoa from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, and Maria from Born From A Wish dlc from Silent Hill 2. 

Samus is just a female bounty trained to wipe out the scum of the galaxy and that hasn't been done enough in games so its kinda why I can see she is a main candidate of choice That and they've given her quite a bit of sex appeal over the years. Any and all of the Metroid games have been amazing aside from the main characters gender.

Heather was just a "normal" girl thrown into a world of hell and faced with the dark truths while trying to survive the return of the cult from Silent Hill 1. She is defiant to the end and kicks a lot of butt while solving the puzzles of her past. 

Aye Brea is thrown into a storm of chaos and monsters and she's, for the most part, a standard police officer thrown against the odds of life and death.

I say Shanoa is a possibility because how many main characters are there in Castlevania games? Not many. Which I suppose I could include Carrie Fernandez from the Castlevania 64, but she didn't have much of a story in the plot or very much to say. Plus I just really love Castlevania games.

And last but not least, Maria from Silent Hill 2. I would say she is a good candidate because with that little extra part of the game we get to see her story and how she is involved in the whole ordeal and how she came to be. In a way, despite how the way the endings go for Silent Hill 2 it allows you to level with Maria and a bit and see her stake in wanting to keep James.

So if anything, there is your diversity. I can't really pick which one would be my top #1 so I gave a reason for each. Hopefully its acceptable for this thread.

I really like Metroid but everybody said samus already so, I go with Chell from Portal 2.Actually it was said already so I go with Lilith The Siren from Borderlands and Maya from Borderlands 2.

A tie between Chell from Portal 2 and Samus from Metroid. Chell seems to survive any situation and has to be really smart and agile to survive Glados. Samus, especially zero-suit Samus from Smash Bros Brawl is just, well, hot.
