I'm gonna pull my hair out. Everytime I try & find a good emulator for the Gamecube I keep running into Dolphin. Everyone says it's the best. Everytime I download Dolphin it doesn't allow me to do anything. I download it using my Mozilla Web Browser, & when I open it it just opens up internet explorer, closes it, & asks me if I wanna Run, Save, or Cancel. Clicking Run or Save just makes it open Internet Explorer again, turning it into an annoying cycle. I just want a good emulator for me to play some good Gamecube games on it, I'm not looking for anything for the Wii (I keep finding that & it gets in the way). Can someone please help me???

This is odd. I've never had a problem running Dolphin before. You're on Windows, right?

I believe they packaged it as a .7z so use either 7-zip or WinRAR to extract the files so you can run the emulator itself.

Crazy Li : Yes, I'm on Windows. I often see that whenever the file is first asked to be downloaded that it gives me these options, which are weird to me: Internet Explorer, iTunes, Notepad, Windows Media Player, Windows Calendar, Windows Photo Gallery, & Windows Wordpad Application. What am I supposed to choose?

You need to just save the file to your computer. You're not supposed to open it with anything weird because it's not going to work. If it's an executable file, it runs itself and if it's an archive, you need to use archive software (like one of the 2 I linked) to extract the files within.

Crazy Li : It doesn't give me the option to choose my computer. I have to pick something that's on the list or I can't download it at all. Also, what's up w/ this post on "WinRAR is not free software"? Haven't seen that before.

EDIT: I've downloaded Dolphin, but now it says something about it not being able to work because it couldn't find "XINPUT1_3.dll". What is this & what went wrong?

That is a dynamic link library for Direct X. If you're missing it then you most likely don't have the latest Direct X drivers installed. I think Dolphin requires Direct X 9 or later so this should help you out: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=35

No problem. Glad I was able to help.

I'll go ahead and close this now since you got it to work.
