Castlevania for the NES is the first game in the series. You are Simon Belmont travelling through Transylvania killing enemies and your main objective is to kill Dracula. That is the story of this game. Pretty basic but the gameplay is where this game shines. In Castlevania there are 6 levels and 18 stages. That may seem like a short game, but let me tell you know, this is one of the hardest games in the NES library. It may seem simple at first, using your whip to kill enemies, but it is not as easy as it seems. The most annoying enemy in the game is defiantly the Medusa heads. They travel in a wavy-like way and can drain your energy faster than you can cuss at your computer screen.  The difficulty of this game is extremely high, and you will see the continue screen on many occasions. I suggest to use save states unless you are very skilled at the game. The game is fun once you get over the fact that you will die alot. Going through a difficult level is defiantly worth it after beating the boss. I give this game a 9.2 as it is fun but the difficulty almost ruins it self and the lack of story is a bit of a bummer. I defiantly recommend this game to anyone looking for a challenge.
