Saving with SNES, Genesis, 32x, GBA
To save your progress, simply press F2. To load your progress, simply press F4. That's it! With all the RGR Plugin games (except N64), that's how you save and load and you can do it anywhere in the game. If you're playing NES, GB and GBC games with the RGR Plugin, you can save this way as well.

Saving with N64
N64 doesn't support save states so you can only save on N64 games that originally supported it. To save, just save like you would if you were playing the actual game, each time you got to play the game again, your save file should be there.

Saving with NES Games (w/ VNES Emulator)
To save your progress on games that support saving, you must save in the game, than press F10 to retrieve your save code and with that, you'll want to press CTRL + C to copy it and you may want to paste it in the 'Save Game Data' box by clicking it's link in the game window. When loading the game, paste that same code into the box that pops up by pressing CTRL + P. The 'Save Game Data' is a good place to store your save codes and your game passwords since they are stored right on vizzed board. Remember, you MUST be logged into the site to save! Saving with NES Games (w/ backup NESCafe Emulator)
With this emulator, you're allowed 5 save files for each game and you're allowed to save anywhere. TO SAVE: Right click the screen, click emulation, click save state and than double click the save slot that you want to save your progress in. TO LOAD: Right click the screen, click emulation, click load state, and than double click a save slot to load from (notice that it displays a screenshot of where you saved).

Saving with GB and GBC Games
To Save your progress, you must first save your progress within the game first (note that you can only save on games that originally support saving). Once you've saved from inside the game, double click the screen and click to Save.
To Load your progress, double click the screen and click to Load. (if you see something that says 'this game pak is designed only for use on the game boy / color' or something similar, simply double click the screen and press reset; this usually happens on pokemon games). You'll see it didn't actually load you off from where you left off but your file was saved, you now just need to load your save file from within the game. Remember, you MUST be logged into the site to save!

Ok i have to request a video on GBC saving bacuse for some reason it won't save my games.

For those interested, I recorded a video tutorial on me demonstrating the loading and saving of the GB/GBC games. I also updated my instructions since I recently noticed that some games, like Pokemon Crystal, give an error after loading, I added instructions to work around this (and also mentioned it in the video).

Good thinking. I updated it. Saving with the new NES emulator is very easy and it supports up to 5 save states and you can save anywhere.

I know how to save with all the systems your talking about but some times it glitches and does not save.

Try refreshing the main page of Vizzed in a separate window (while logged in) before you save.
After a while your session times out and you might need to refresh so you are recognised.

For some reason in Tecmo Super Bowl all of my data was reseted and it started from the beginning even though I had a save code. Does anyone know how to fix this if possible?

okay what if you began playing a gbc game (pokemon blue in this case) and then decided you wanted to save it and it says you need to log in to save. So I log in and it still doesn't let me save. Am I going to have to exit and start all over..?

In GBA games, you can't save anymore. You used to be able to save by pressing shift+f1 and now it doesn't work. Is there another way to save?

I don't mean to be a nubcake, but when I was playing Earthbound, I pressed F2 so I could create a save state, but the game just froze. Is it supposed to do that just because it's a save state? Was I just supposed to wait? Please help.

P.S. Now I have to start Earthbound all over again... D'oh!

Mariofan21 : Sometimes the saving cant take a while, usually it's only a few seconds but it can take up to 30 seconds or even a minute sometimes (very rare that it takes that long though).

I appreciate the save states a lot. I do have a question, however.

In Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge, there are six characters, but only two save slots.

I would like to play all the characters without erasing data, but I don't see how. Any adivce? I rather not have multiple accounts (I think that's against the rules, anyways).

I was playing a GBA game and had successfully saved using in-game saves. I had almost finished the game. After saving and turning off for the night, I came back and found I had lost more than 50% of the game in progress. Is there anything to be done to fix this problem? If not, why not?

Raphael_Tenshi : Did it say the save state was successfully saved when you last saved?

Yes the text said save state successful, and the game stutter that accompanies the save upload had finished. I have start to rebuild my file, but I hope others don't need to experience the same save loss. The main problem is not that it didn't save but that it actually deleted a large portion of the existing save.

Raphael_Tenshi : I'm working on a feature that'll let users back up their save files in case of things like this. Should be ready tomorrow. Not sure if there's anything else I can do, sorry

I tried the NESCafe Java Emulator but it's seems like a lesser quality version. I noticed when I play the game the picture is blurry and kind of jumpy. Is that normal?

SNES games are not saving states properly. I save properly but next time I get on to play its loading up a previous game save (Its loading Chrono Trigger when I was level 1 when I was already level 10 when I saved).

My pokemon emerald and Liquid Crystal wont save. Pokemon emerald cuz I can't get my favorite Latios and Liquid Crystal cuz i just like the game and want to go on after the Elite Four.

catfight09 : Have you disabled protected mode? I went through the same expereince and i turned protected mode offf, and it worked. All you have to do is double click the 'Internet sign on the bottom bar of your browser, then uncheck protected mode.

If an N64 game supports saving, the saved files should still be there when we come back, right? Mine aren't there when I go to play the game again. At first I thought maybe it was just Banjo Kazooie, but the same thing happened for Paper Mario today.
If I save then close the browser, then immediately proceed to re-open the game, my save files are still there. However, when I wait then come back to the games, all the save files are cleared.

septembern : I was under the impression that for Nintendo 64 games, you *only* save in-game. I will give trying to save out of game a try; my Banjo Kazooie save file is still there from this afternoon, so that's good. Someone had mentioned trying refreshing the forum page before saving, and I think that's what I did... so maybe that's the key to what I have been doing wrong. Whatever the case, my Paper Mario and Mystical Ninja save files from last night have been cleared and are gone for good.

septembern : Thank you for the sympathy, but it wasn't too big of a deal. I wasn't past the first level of any of them, so it wasn't much of a loss other than an hour or two out of my life. I actually am quite the Lord of the Rings nerd, as my name implies (Stewart is meant to be a pun; I didn't misspell Steward, as it would seem. )

Anyway, refreshing the main page (not the game) seems to be working. My Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, and Mystical Ninja save files are staying saved. In the chat thing for Paper Mario, other people have been saying it won't save for them either; so I'm guessing maybe that's just a problem with that game. Hopefully that's all that is; one game not saving isn't too much of a problem when there is such a beautiful selection of other games at my fingertips.

sleepwalk88 : Try what someone else suggested: before you save, refresh the vizzed.com page (but NOT the window your game is in). I have not tried it for Zelda, but that seems to be working for most of the other Nintendo 64 games that I play.

Question, do the games save to your computer or your account? ie, if I were to log onto my account on a different computer, would I still have my saves there?

Hi, I've been playing Pokemon Emerald (GBA), and had been saving successfully for a number of days now, I save regularly and always check it's been saved by pressing F4 just to make sure. For some reason, last night I went to play it again to find that I've lost quite a chunk of the stuff I'd done :/. It wasn't like it had gone to just the previous save before the save that was lost, but like it had gone like 10 saves back... Was just wondering why this is? Is there a way to prevent this? + Is there any way to salvage my lost game progress..? Thanks.

Instructions
This page displays all your Vizzed RGR Plugin save files and lets you delete them, make copies and restore copies.
The filename of the save files is usually different than actual name of the game so sometimes you'll have to try and figure out what game it is.
NOTE: If a game name has a ' than the filename of the save file may cut off everything before the ' in its filename.

Slot: Slot 1 is your primary save and is the save file which gets loaded when you play the game.
You have 3 save slots available for each save file so that you can make backups or use more than 1 save file.

Copying Files / Backing Up Files: When you click to Copy a file, it creates an identical copy of the save file for backup purposes

Move Files / Renaming Files: When you click to Move a file, it moves the file to whichever slot you specify

Deleting Files: When you click to Delete a file, it removes the file from the server forever so be warned!

Save State: These are Saves that you can create and load from anywhere in the game by pressing F2 to Save and F4 to Load

Save File: These are Save files that store your saved data when you save within the game itself; these are also called Native Save Files

Auto Backed Up Files: Save Slot 4 and Slot 5
Every day you visit the site, any save file of yours that has been created or updated in the past week get backed up to Slot 4 or Slot 5.
If the day of the week is an odd number, the save file will be backed up to slot 5, if it's an even number, slot 4.

I have also realized that emulator window shows a "Saved State Download Failed!" even though I'm able to save. I'm playing Zelda Ocarina and I can (in game) save, load and copy files, but I cant manage them with save file manager. Any ideas?
