The Saw series. There are seven movies in the franchise right now, and there have been many rumors of Saw 8 coming out from Lionsgate. It has been since 2010 that Saw 3D, or Saw 7 came out. I am personally a huge fan and love the mystery sense I get to the films. They always seem to keep me thinking. I think it is a great mix between horror and mystery. I would love to see another movie added to the series but do you think 8 is too much? The question is "Should there be another movie to the franchise or not?" Please leave a reason why or why not you think there should be a Saw 8.

I think there should be. If something is so good that it has 7 different ones then yes they should definitely make more.

earthwarrior : By that logic, there should be more Air Buddies movies or more Land Before Time movies. There are 13 Land Before Time movies, and almost anyone you talk to will say that the 1st one was the only good one.

I don't think that there should be another. I loved the saw series (although I was not a fan of Saw 4), but they really have tied up loose ends as much as they could. I mean, the only way you can add more twists is if you added a new character that we have never seen before, and that is just lame. Pretty much any of the other existing characters died (except for the 1 character that we find out at the end of Saw 7 became a part of the whole thing).

I am also a huuuuuuge fan of the Saw Franchise and my favourite movie was SAW II. Story, characters, dramatical part, dialogues, the twist, everything was just perfect.

In my opinion there should be no more Part 8. The story is so done. I think Part 6 and 7 also already have been to much.

Take a look at Paranormal Activity for example :

Part 1 : Great, creepy, innovative, brilliant !
Part 2 : Okay, good story and background
Part 3 : I didn't have a clue of what the hell is happening there and not so creepy as part 1 or 2.
Part 4 : Boring......so boring !

Back to Saw :

I think I read something about a reboot of the Saw franchise and I hope they'll do it. Saw was sick and twisted but on a great way, till a certain point.

If they reboot Saw, I'll definitly see that movie !

I'm a huge fan of the Saw series. In fact I've seen all of the Saw movies (except for the last one...no spoilers please!!) I agree with everyone that...

Saw 1- Best of the Series. Had a simple plot, good amount of gore, and GREAT ending.

Saw 2- Was still good, but wasn't an improvement. The plot was good, but not as simplistic. The gore amount really went up (particular near the end); which is okay. The ending was good, but not as great since we all knew that something was going happen at the end to let JigSaw get away (thou I didn't expect THAT ending).

Saw 3- Was okay. Plot expanded a bit from 2, which was bad since they kept switching between Story 1 and Story 2. I did like thou how the Storys combined at the end. The Gore REALLY went down in the 3rd movie. Only gorey parts were during the sugery, the Rack machine, and the Ending. I'm indifferent to this approch thou I expected the same amount of Gore in Saw 2. The ending was okay, but the part with a daughter was obvious (at least to me).

To sum up the rest.

Saw 4- Good tie in attempt, but the story wasn't "clear".

Saw 5- Another tie in that wasn't quite as good. Didn't get the whole wall thing at the end.

Saw 6- Was Meh...yup just meh.

Saw 7- Deffinetly a good ending to the series. Was deffinetly in the Top 3 of the Saw movies (behind 1 and 2).

Now as to Saw 8. I would like to see a Saw 8 movie, but only if it has these conditions...

1. GREAT Story. Copycat killer is obvious, but as long as the suspense and main story is great then I will like it.

2. Good Amount of Gore. Somewhere on Saw 2's amount of Gore; but be more unique with it and don't repeat old traps (looking at you reverse Bear trap).

3. Acting is solid. I don't mind if the acting is not as good as other major movies, but just have a good solid acting and I think it will help.

Saw started to get really dull the longer the franchise went on, by the end it was just gore for the sake of gore, not really anything true to the original movies psychological thriller roots.

I really hope they don't make another one because if the trend follows the same pattern all that would happen is a whole city would be taken hostage and be made to kill each other in the bloodiest way possible while the villain watches to get his jollies. If you know what I mean.

Like DH said, Saw is getting duller and duller by the sequel. You can't keep a franchise going forever. Seriously, a few years down the road, would you like to see Saw 15? Neither would I. I think its time for Saw to retire its legacy. Its a great series, but enough is enough.

As long as people are going to keep paying money to see people tortured to death, they should always make more movies.  Who cares how many or what the title is.  People get tortured and you all pay to see it.  I'm excited about this current generation's taste in entertainment.  I can't wait for actually killings on pay-per-view.

There's no way that they will make a Saw 8.

They have said that the series is over, and all of the traps are gone, and Spoiler, JigSaw and Amanda are both dead, and there's no way of bringing them back. If it were to be a prequel, it wouldn't have 8 in the title.

Wow they are up to Saw 7 already? I stopped watching those movies after 2. It's all the same crap anyways. Honestly I didn't find the 2nd one all that interesting lol. Oh well. To each their own I guess.

I think once you get past the third movie then it's gone too far, and if you reach 7 then they're just money hungry. If people are still willing to go watch it, well, that's their problem.

I don't know if there should be a saw 8. I feel like the series is good enough, unless they make adam come back ( i liked adam. it's too bad he had to die)

No. To be honest, I'm not even sure why there was a Saw 1-7. Let it die already, please? I think we've got the point. After awhile, it went from slightly horrifying to just boring.

I'm in the mind of some of the members who answered, the long a franchise is drawn out, the more boring and dull it becomes. I liked the first one, I think it's one of the best horror movies I've seen in a while. I didn't like two so much, and enjoyed three and four, but the ones I've watched since then have just gotten more and more confusing and also boring. I think I stopped at Saw five or six and just let the franchise go.

I do not think the movie 'Saw 8' exists. The seventh is the last because John Kramer (Jigsaw), Mark Hoffman and Jill Tuck are already dead and I think they are the protagonists. if you saw a trailer on YouTube Saw 8 is a lie. all are of Saw 3D scenes.

The first 3 movies are the best I think because the gore is just enough for the story and most of the time it is about the killer and that's what I like

I love the Saw movies, I thought that the story lines planned out and genius design of the traps used was very well done.
However I think they should have stopped after the main villain died, granted how they worked the story so he was still in it in some way was good. But everything after that just destroyed it for me, so I personally don't think there should be another Saw movie.
