You know how missingno would delete your save file on pokemon red/blue, right? Here is a story of the scariest pokemon moment that was never programmed into the game, but actually hidden inside the games data that is unreachable in normal play without hacking the game data to do so.

I did tons of research about this yesterday, and this is the perfect time to show it off... Halloween.

Buried Alive, a non-pokemon zombie that would freeze the game upon winning and would delete your save if you lost against him. He will give you nightmares just by looking at the Game Over hidden picture of Red or Ash getting eaten by Buried Alive. A unknown programmer made the unknown Buried Alive stuff and even had the Game Over image drawn.

When losing against him, he says, "Finally... raw meat!" Then, the music just stops instantly and then a picture of Ash being eaten is shown with a very huge "Game Over" text at the bottom. The worst thing is that while the Game Over image shows, a slowed down, reversed, lower pitched version of Lavender Town plays aka staticmesh.wav. One of the two PERMA sideaffects is that once the staticmesh.wav music file is finished, the game collapses and your save gets erased. Well guess what? The song is around 3 minutes! Staring at the creepy picture with the very scary enlarged text is torture. Even worse is that you would wait 3 minutes for the collapse and file deletion to come up. It doesn't tell you it gets erased, so that Game Over image is a trap. The creepy image could scar you for life. Another sideaffect is that according to a wiki, it said that right when the Game Over image comes on the screen, the cartridge "Downloads" the image of the Game Over to the small internal memory of the game boy system that permanently overwrites the regular game boy start up logo and sound. If that happens, the game boy shows the same image with staticmesh.wav playing when you start the system up. It is a perma effect, and I recommend doing this on a emulator, with a save state before even talking to the tombstone that lies Buried Alive. Even though winning crashes the game, if you do manage to get around the crash under rare circumstances, you still get the exact same Game Over regardless of winning. It's a beginners trap. So if you do accidently talk to the tombstone, it's a dead end. To easily fix that, just reset the game.

Although this isn't in the final, you can actually find it by hacking the bytes and data of the ROM enough. Talking to the tombstone has Buried Alive saying this: "I'm trapped... And I'm lonely... So very lonely... Won't you join me?" amd then the fight starts. He was originally supposed to be the Lavender Town's boss in the 3rd floor in the tower, and had two white hands, a grimer, and a muk. One white hand is level 101! If you think it is only just a wild battle, no. It's a trainer battle, so you are in a trap once you talk to him. The reason why the game crashes upon winning is because there was no programming for the game to continue after beating Buried Alive so the game just hangs on a black screen. There are tons of stories about this, and it is real. Same with the white hand. Game Boy systems can't read .gif images so the white hand was never used. Also, it is one of the only 105 unused slots of the pokédex. The empty slots thing was caused by trying to put 150 pokemon in the pokédex. Since 128 wasn't the number to use, they went to 256 (2^8). The rest of those empty slots were missingno, buried alive, white hand, and the glitch m, and ZZAZZ. Extreme glitches galore with empty slots.

UPDATE: You can actually find buried alive by capturing a glitch m/missingno and (I think) a mew and have a pokedoll to scare the ghost away with the silph scope.

Back to the buried alive discussion. There are videos with the staticmesh.wav file played as the audio which is the unused game over music when losing to buried alive.

UPDATE 2: the staticmesh song is the gameboy overwritten title screen music. The game over music is the slowerr, lower pitched, and reversed version of the track.

Now, normally the Game Over in pokemon is just whiting or blacking out, and warping to the nearest pokemon center visited to heal your pokemon. No real Game Over condition. But this picture...

(IF YOU DON'T WANT TO LOOK AT THIS, TURN BACK NOW!!!!!!!!)

UPDATE 3: Finally got the image to work.

...I can't explain in words how wrong and scary it would be to put this in a kids game. Pokemon is for kids, and this is something that would be in a rated R movie, don't you think?

It's best to look up "buried alive pokemon" on google. You'll get atleast 1 million results. You'll find stories, videos, and even images of buried alive. It is scary, and I don't recommend looking at the creepy picture a paragraph earlier. Could scar you for life, and even give nightmares. Hope you don't get scared. That is what I have to say about buried alive, and no one on vizzed ever heard or mentioned buried alive until now.

Wow, that's creepy. Do you have a link to a video of it? I was looking for one, but the ones I found were fake. I can see why they didn't use this in the game.

I initially thought that this was just a creepypasta, but now that I see it here it may be worth a look into.

patar4097 : Here is a link to a real video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlGIOehnUNc

You need a missingno and a mew probably to find him. But you can't get them both early before pokemon tower so a gameshark is needed to get them.

I apoligize for the bump up, but I actually did get missingno and mew with gameshark.

So I got the two pokemon by gameshark codes, and caught a missingno without the game having any glitch or crash effect, and caught a gameshark glitched mew. I went to the pokemon tower with the walk through walls code so I could actually test the theory with the pokemon to see if it really was true. I went to the top floor, but what happened, was that there was no buried alive on the top floor. I did have the 2 pokemon, though, and I didn't pick up the silph scope, either. So 7g06's video sadly was mostly a hoax. If anyone else wants to see the link to the video though, just go to the link above. If anyone still believes this is true, you got proved wrong.

I finally got around to doing it after 2 months. 2 big threads will be made, featuring my 2005-present memories, and then my ultimate address hacking on Pokemon Puzzle Challenge, with what addresses doing what effect. I did wipe out my SRAM on SMB DX for GBC and the Pokemon Blue game because I screwed around with the SRAM values and it destroyed my save file and save states.

Let me just say that it was that exact image you posted that scarred me for life. Or at least a day or two. I got over it but its still creepy. I didn't know who or what Buried Alive is but when I drew Buried Alive by hand based on memory, I showed it to my friends and they were saying that Buried Alive came from a movie called Signs. If Buried Alive actually CAME from that movie, then Game Freak has some problems!

Vega : Scared me to death when I first saw it, it still seems to scare me.

As a even more big joke of how this creepypasta started was that some deviantart user had made sprites of this, and it was actually a edited sprite of a swimming trainer. Eerie! So in that case, it was mostly started by something like that, but let me get this straight. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING!? Not trying to go all out, but that is a seriously big joke they were making into a creepypasta, in which creepypasta was stories that were scary for fun. But people get sick minds like me and get crazy and think these are real. 7g06's video is definitly a fake even though it isn't a Rick roll, it unfortuantly ended up getting in one of JWittz's videos of Lavander Town theories. The high frequency was bad enough, but Buried Alive sneaking into a video of JWittz? FUS DO RAH! No seriously, what sick mind would even try to do something this scary? Also, Game Freak wouldn't try stuff this scary in a pokemon game, especially since the buried alive person made the game unbeatable. Either winning or lossing by hacking, you would lose by losing or mostly freeze the game when winning. Also, there might be a hack that pretty much simulates this called "Pokemon Dead Blue" or Dead Red, not sure. I always played pokemon blue more, in which I am not sure if it could ever be real. Obviously it wouldn't be, but if it was in the game, no other pokemon game could ever make it maybe.

Stevie 764 :   Well it may have been a joke but there was one thread that I saw on a Creepy pasta Wiki that said that Raichu said and I quote, "Get over here you son of a---" The screen flashed on and off as if it tried making people have a seizure and Raichu's Thunder attack blew Buried Alive to bits. After the battle, bits of Buried Alive was seen and blood was all over the top floor of the tower and Lavender Town fell SILENT. There was no theme playing or anything! And Raichu had been reposed. Raichu had its arms crossed and a few spots of Buried Alive's blood was on it. It was also smirking smugly. I don't know if it was real or not but it sounds like someone found a way to win against Buried Alive but at a sore cost.

Black Bot : Not to offend you or anything, but I looked at the picture, and it wasn't that scary. I've seen zombie pictures and stuff like that. I never had a nightmare. The scary thing is the song-I never heard it, but the song is said to have killed over 200 children...

And now I shall spoil the fun for everyone with FACTS.

http://creepypasta.wikia.com/wiki/Buried_Alive_Model
The whole "buried alive" model as well as the "death" model is part of a Creepypasta hacked game known as "Pokémon Creepy Black"

It can only be downloaded as an EXE file and is played like any normal game on your computer such as "Solitaire" or something.
http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/pokemon-creepy-black

CreepyPasta has designed many pokepasts such as that one, even the official youtube Creepypasta channel says so.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oDDYsfzjOY&list=ELr26UnBbK4_8&index=0
Here's all the current pokepastas from CreepyPasta

Another one of them is called "Pokémon Strangled Red", which is basically Pokémon Red but modified by CreepyPasta

Many Pokémon videos on youtube have already proven this to be a modified creation done by CreepyPasta, thus making it a model only found in the Pokepasta games.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCj7h6cTpOg
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6wnHNASQiOE

So yeah, pretty much... if you want to encounter these "creepy" Pokémon, then you'll have to download the game onto your computer. As far as I know, it's not an actual emulated game... but there is one here on vizzed somewhat similar to the original "Lost Silver" idea:

https://www.vizzed.com/play/pokemon-creepy-black-%28demo-v005-final%29-gba-online-game-boy-advance-44038-game

The original CreepyPasta game with the Pokemon known as "Buried Alive" is from the "Lost Silver" CreepyPasta game, and I believe is also seen in the "Strangled Red" as well as "Creepy Black".

Also for being a "Vizzed Elite" Stevie 764, this post seems to be rather "childish" in my opinion. Like I understand it's suppose to be scary and all, but you're kind of like... skipping all the important FACTS, and 2ndly... you can't encounter Buried Alive with Missingno glitch, it's not possible in the normal games because it was NEVER created in the normal games.

If you can, be sure to show us some PROOF, besides just saying something you obviously know very little about.

A few facts here and there are TRUE, like how MissingNo takes up all the extra pokemon spaces that aren't used... but otherwise, 99% of everything you have posted is FALSE for the most part. Obviously, you didn't look DEEPLY enough into it... and most likely all you did was revise some of the words and then remove some of the extra information from some sort of wiki/wikia.

==============UPDATED

Also, MissingNo doesn't delete your profile, I don't know where you got that non-sense from... but here's some links to prove that you need to actually READ before you WRITE:

http://errors.wikia.com/wiki/Missingno.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQeedFtYckw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qh6c_TZG9VQ
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKiRIMDNj4A

So yeah, thanks for all your FALSE information and I hope that you'll actually pay attention to everything before you post something big and full of FALSE facts.

The only reason why many people think MissingNo is the cause for their information to become CORRUPTED is because most of the time, by then... they have already ruined the memory drive on their Game Boy, thus causing their memory to no longer save or to become corrupted when saved.
And now I shall spoil the fun for everyone with FACTS.

==============UPDATED

Actually burred alive is a fan fiction missingno dose not erase you file what happen was the original games would die and erase so when they encounter missingno there game died missingno is a filler originally the game was going to have 200 Pokémon but they changed it to 151 misingno is a filler for the 49 Pokémon that didn't make it in the game.Burried alive is proven fake because if you hack the game you will not find any info on burred alive (or white hand)

I know a way to get missingno.? Without a gameshark or hack away from

cinnabar island. I don't think anybody else knows this. It is a glitch that I never told anybody about. I do this glitch but instead of going to that one trainer, I go to a different one and find missingno http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9GCcTn0jP8

I forgot which one exactly, but I do know that it is a trainer on the SS.Anne.

rcarter2:

I was replying to stevie 764 when he said "You need a missingno and a mew probably to find him. But you can't get

them both early before Pokémon tower so a gameshark is needed to get

them." So, I was staying on topic because, I was saying that there
is a way to fight BuriedAlive without a gameshark. I guess I should have
specified that though. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

aaron500000 : Please stick to the topic of the thread.

As for about 95% of those who posted in here, how could this little picture have scared you? It wasn't remotely a 'scary' picture. It is really pretty tame. I think it is a HUGE stretch to say this image would be a rated R movie. PG-13 at the MOST. There are creepier images in kids cartoon shows all the time. I think those saying they got nightmares form this image are just saying that to 'fit in'. Don't lie

rcarter2 : Finally somebody who agrees. Of all the creepypastas that have creepy images, these people are scared of a sprite form a black and white video game. None of the Lavender Town myths are scary or real. I can't believe the society we live in.
