I'm surprised that there isn't a thread on this topic (maybe I'm the only one who shaves lol). So yes this is a topic on shaving Facial Hair, Legs, Chest, Armpit, or anything else that you shave. Here are some rules for this thread...
- If your talking about Facial Hair, what Facial Hair are you talking about (Mustache, Soul Patch, Beard, etc). - Keep it PG to PG-13 (we don't need to know that you shave down there). That being said, here are some other questions... - How many times do you shave? - Do you use any After-shave, Shaving Cream, or any other product to shave? - Electric Razor or non Electric? - Any Tips or Tricks you use to shave difficult spots? Edit: Okay I just remembered that some people might not have Facial hair or are at the point to start shaving. So to all those people who don't shave yet or don't have facial hair, I ask you this question as a replacement to some of the questions above... - Would you want Facial Hair and what type/style would you hope to get? I shave my face like once a month. I'm 20 years old, and don't have a lot of facial hair, so my shaving is limited.
I have a regular razor, some Gillette Model. I don't use any shaving cream, and for tough to reach spots, I use the precision trimmer on the back of the razor. Guys have it so.... SO lucky. XD I shave my legs and my underarms. I'll shave my underarms regularly because I have to lift my arms a lot when I'm teaching. So I shave them every time I shower (unless I shower more than once a day). However, my legs I don't do as often. They're usually covered with slacks, so I'll shave them every other day, or if I'm feeling lazy, once a week. Don't judge! The hair doesn't grow that fast, so at worst I get a light prickly feeling on my legs if I don't shave in a week. My mother always bought disposable razors but I've developed a strong dislike for those. Instead, I use the Gillette Venus razor. The actual blades are ridiculously expensive, but worth the price in my opinion. Also, I don't use shaving cream, though my mother told us kids that we should. Shaving a knee is particularly tricky if you don't want to cut yourself. I usually lift my leg against the wall and SLOWLY sculpt around the joint so that my blade doesn't get caught in those soft spots. I shave my legs and my underarms. Woops forgot to talk about myself... I have a Mustache, Soul Patch, and Chin Strap Beard and I shave Once a Week (it grows back quickly); mostly to a Stubble look (I don't look as good without facial hair). I use an electric razor as I don't trust myself with a disposable razor blade. I sometimes use Aftershave, but most of the time I don't. Singelli : Huh I guess you have a valid point. I would say that Guys like me have it worse as shaving Once a Week can become a drag to do lol. Woops forgot to talk about myself... i have to shave for work. I dont like being clean shaven so outside work i dont bother. 2 days and i get heavy stubble. 3 and i get hair. 1 5 days and its almost formed into a beard. I guess 1 more week would do it but i always shave for work before 1 week so idk.
I use an electric shaver. I dont use foam. I dont use aftershave. I sometimes shave the emerging tash though, i dont like moustaches. I use an electric shaver. I dont use foam. I dont use aftershave. I sometimes shave the emerging tash though, i dont like moustaches. |

I shave legs and armpits... but I tend to be lazy about it at times. I'll go a few days between doing it sometimes (it doesn't grow fast or much). There was a point in time when I wasn't gonna bother with the underarms but then I saw a friend of mine's Facebook pic where she had her arms raised and behind her head and you could see her armpit hair... looked horrible, so I quickly decided that I didn't wanna look like that :p
I shave a lot more often in the summer since I'm wearing stuff like shorts and tanktops. In the winter, I do it less, because of stuff being covered letting me be more lazy. I use cheapo disposable razors because I'm not made of money and store brand shaving cream. Last time I tried shaving without cream, I cut myself :/ I shave a lot more often in the summer since I'm wearing stuff like shorts and tanktops. Oldschool41 : I wish I could get away with shaving everything only once a week. Unfortunately, part of my disorder comes with a side order of hirsutism, so I probably have a bit more hair than most girls. I usually get hair on my chin, next to my ears, and around my belly button. None of it is very obvious and in fact most people tell me they can't notice it, but it drives me nuts. I usually pluck the hairs on my chin, but next to my ears and belly button I'll shave about once a week. So yeah... lots and lots of shaving. Crazy Li : I'm in the same boat as you. More shaving in the summer and less in the winter. Not only for the reasons you mentioned, but also because in the summer, my shower won't stay warm for longer than five minutes. And I HATE cold showers. Shaving takes up most of my shower time, so I'm more inclined to wear long sleeves and pants in the winter to avoid shaving if I can. I don't like to shave frequently. I have dry skin and a razor irritates it.
I use a plain woman's razor, one with disposable blades but you re-use the handle. I'm glad I'm not a man because I'd really hate shaving my face. I use a plain woman's razor, one with disposable blades but you re-use the handle. I'm glad I'm not a man because I'd really hate shaving my face. |

I shave my face at night when I shave, every day except weekends. Sometimes I shave my head, too, but not that often. I like the way it looks but it takes a very long time. For my face I use Wilkonson Steel razors (The ones that are $1 for four), because I'd rather use a cheap, fresh razor, than keep using the same beaten up, rusty razor for months because it was expensive. I think my shave cream is Barbasol... It's barb-something, the stuff that comes in the red and blue can and smells like a manly smell. Every now and then if I'm being exotic I'll get the mentholated or aloe infused stuff, but typically I just use the basic stuff. |

I am growing a Goatee already, or at least a small one. I do not shave however, I am waiting for a prank involving a beard, long hair, and black hair. |

I use to shave my legs, armpits, and arms.
I use to use Gillette Venus razors because those are my favorite and I would shave about every 2 weeks, since hair doesn't grow quickly for me. I rarely used shaving cream because I was never really a fan of it, so I would use tomatoes~. I know, it sounds crazy but... tomatoes are good for facial masks and so I thought that if they were good for the face they must be good for the rest of my skin. To my surprise, I did notice change in my skin. It seemed healthier and felt softer. If some of you want to try this, all you do is get a bit of a tomato and add a bit of sugar and rub it all over your skin and shave!!You have to shave quickly or it will get all sticky, in that case you can just add water. Now, I use wax strips because I only have to wax like once every month and it just saves time. thenumberone : Well men from up north are kinda known for their beard producing skills? That sounded way cooler about 10 minutes ago... I'll just be honest... I shave whenever I feel like it... Sometimes it's daily sometimes it's monthly... The only certain time it gets done is when I'm at job interviews or another social meeting where I want to look smart... I also shave the hair that grows on my chest... It just irritates me... Especially as it grows really quickly...... I find that shaving cream irritates me to no end so I just use water..... my razor varies.. As I have about 5 I use.. E.G ill use disposable cheap ones if it isn't bad but sometimes you need to bring out the heavy duty stuff ... I probably wax my armpits and legs once a year as well.. I like to do charity work when I'm not being an eccentric moron on here.... To be honest... I like the pain.... it doesn't really bother me at all... It's usually done by trained beauticians (I think that's the correct term) so it's basically hot wax and some paper.. .Simples The only other thing I do apart fro the obvious is pluck my eyebrows.. I don't shape them.. I'd probably end up looking like wario or something... It's just I get really conscious about it.. *shudders*.... I'll just be honest... I shave whenever I feel like it... I shave about once every three days. I use an electric shaver, and a ton of shaving cream. I absolutely hate getting razor burns, especially on my legs. Its the worst. I shave my legs and my arm pits quite often. I hate not being able to shave frequently because then I feel like a cave woman haha |

When I was in college, I shaved only on Sunday. For some reason my hair grew very fast when I was in college, and by the time Sunday came around, you could barely see my face. I looked like Teen Wolf. But, those are the years when you expanded your horizons and work to find yourself. Once college was over I began shaving more regularly, just not every day. These days, I usually shaver every other day. I like keeping stubble over having a smooth face. EDIT: Woo hoo! Post #100! ... ok, moving on.... These days, I usually shaver every other day. I often shave every other day to keep my face smooth...unles it's the weekend..then I most likely won't shave. My skin isn't dry at all so I don't use cream. I just wash my face before and after I shave with hot water. |

I shave my face a every 3 weeks or so. My facial hair is red so I wasn't real proud when it started really coming in a few years back. But I'm fine with it now. What I shave with varies. Sometimes I'll use an electric razor, while sometimes I'll use a normal razor. I've been recently thinking of using a knife. I don't use shaving cream unless I'm using a normal razor. |

Oldschool41 : Well I admit I’m lazy when it comes to shaving. I rarely leave my house so I typically attempt to grow a beard for a couple of weeks at a time. It doesn’t really help that I live in the south and there is heat and such but I do like beards. Lately it seems like my beard has started to finally fill in so I’ve been debating with myself as to whether or not I was to keep it and groom it or if I want to go back to clean shaved. If I were living some place that was cool or cold on a regular basis I’d definitely keep the beard.

I am also on the lazy side when it comes to shaving. I only shave my face, and I usually shave once every two weeks. It is not uncommon for me to be sporting my slight fuzzy face for a little longer though, just out of laziness. It is not a huge thing for me to go without shaving as I really don't get very bushy mustaches or huge beards; just close enough for a goatee-length at best. Glad I do not have to shave anywhere else, as shaving just my face can be such a chore to me, haha! I only shave my face, and I usually shave once every two weeks. I shave once every two days because it grows back really quickly and it don't suit me at all, which is annoying because I am very lazy when it comes to things like this and I hate having to do it because it takes up time. I am only 16 so I hate to thing what it will be like in a few years time . Anyway all I use is a bic razor and soap (a lot of it) and I only have to use it on a beard and mustache so the only difficault part I have to do is above my lip because I nearly always end it catching my lip when I rush. |
