If I knew that those 2 DQ's would happen I would have competed yesterday, so I guess I have to start making my way up from today onward.

Well thanks to Sunflower's post, I gotta go work all night on my story.  So I won't be competing for anything but ...well maybe red.  I don't want to copy pre-written material and I want all my stuff to be fresh, so whatever I can get typed up (new material), for the red.  

I won't be able to compete for much more, trying to beat THAT post!

I'll probably just go for second.  LOL

Singelli : Hmm... I wonder if I should do story writing too... I still have a chapter of a story to re-type since I lost the data for the original chapter 2 (that wasn't finished anyway).

Crazy Li :  That's the reason I love this competition, honestly.  I can't motivate myself to write my stories, and this competition is putting me in the habit of writing every day.  I just LOVE that I'm finally progressing on some stories and doing so on a regular basis.  I mean, already in the short time since I posted my last statement, I've got 700 words!  It seems like it's a lot easier for me to work on my stories when I'm trying to reach a certain word length by a certain amount of time, without sacrificing quality.

Maybe we should see who's going to write a larger piece between me and you tonight?  (I don't think I'm going to try and break that 5000. LOL  but if you want to, go for it!)

Singelli : It's great to see you are making a real life progress with a competition made for fun, it's good to know you're having time now to do your stories, while having fun on the Tour de Vizzed and earning rewards (such as the Red Jersey), just make sure you don't DQ'd.

I've gotten more complaints about people taking this TDV too seriously than any other month we've done it!

I think I'm the only person that finds it dumb that people would type until they're aching for achievements that mean exactly nothing. I mean it's all fun and good to compete but until you're sore enough to whine about it? Priorities: No one has them.

In any case, good luck to everyone who is taking this seriously. Still half a month left...

KG : I just spent four hours typing about 7000 words, and my hands don't hurt.  hehe.   I guess because that's an average of 30 words a minute (super slow for me).  But I was taking my time thinking about what to write.

The only thing that annoyed me was that my first post was a story I'm writing with Sairek.  But my touchpad is so sensitive that my finger LIGHTLY brushed across it and clicked me off the 'input text' box right as I hit the backspace button.  Which went back to the last page I visited and....
Yeah, all my work gone.  LOL

I'm not upset about losing it because of the competition, but upset about losing it because now I have re-write all hat stuff I had written for our story.  *brain fart*

But as for taking it too seriously, I'm not.  It's a game, and games are meant to be played.  If I lose it's not like I'll start crying or even be upset.  I lose most games I play!  haha!

Plus, I do know when to stop and grade my papers.

I remember that on my first Tour de Vizzed (the last Tour de Vizzed) that I really competed, I took it too seriously, my best subject of that time were the Tour de Vizzed, I even annoyed you talking a lot about it.
Good thing that the last Tour de Vizzed were just a experience to help me grow on my Vizzed personality, now I know better how to post around the board if I want to compete.

KG : Actually that's not the case at all for me.

1. I'm not going for any achievements. I don't honestly care too much about the TDV. It would be neat to have a yellow or blue jersey... but I only feel that way because I like those colors. In fact, I've purposely avoided posting the most words on any give day because I don't want the red jersey because I dislike the color red. If I really wanted to accomplish something that badly, I'd take what I can get and nab the red. But I'm avoiding it and not trying for any of them that hard. If I get one, great... if I don't, so what? That's not my purpose here.

2. My fingers ache because I'm typing a lot. In addition to a few post I've been making here (which is nothing compared to the real competitors), I'm participating in 5 active conversations between 2 different IM clients, I'm also in 2 different IRC chat rooms and I'm typing up the 2nd chapter of a story. That story is something I want to do anyway and I'm just sharing it here because there's a section for it. It's not TDV related.

So don't think for a second that I'm hurting myself for the sake of a silly competition. I just have a lot going on and am EXTREMELY talkative. I have more to say than my fingers can reasonably handle, but I'm not the type of person who can just abandon interesting conversations.

Nothing new at all? It must suck when nothing interesting happens, but hopefully today I will appear on the top 5 of the month if today goes as planned, 1 hour is probably enough for me to lift myself a bit today.
