In today's society we have many shows that captivate us for various reasons, for most the allure of celebrities fighting amongst each other or divas walking over everything in their way, even watching toddlers strive for their parents love by competing in arenas in modern day society. Today's article hits a little closer to home for those of us with a techie side.
In recent news the mega-producer of one of America's most popular shows, Simon Cowell, has entered into negotiations with another mega-celebrity WiLL-I-AM of the Black Eyed Peas to unite over a new innovative concept; "The X-Factor for Tech." We've seen the shows first talent conception the original X-Factor, but now Cowell having enlisted Will I Am's help will try to take the show into an entirely different direction.
The idea hits close to home for all us Vizlings in that they are going to try and find the next great technology talent. The Sun is quoted saying "they are looking for the next Bill Gates, or Steve Jobs." The demographic is geeks so to speak, and those who are especially gifted in mathematics and sciences and moreover computers and technology. They want to create a star who might even be promoted to companies as a result of the renown they will gain from this show. Imagine all the clever ideas we've all had in our lifetimes as gamers and how we've always wanted to pursue such a dream but never could, save the few who have. Finally there will be an outing if you will for this tremendous talent that Americans and world over are so capable of and truly deserve. The imagination we all have, the scope, the dreams that everyone told us how silly we were or how we spent to much time dwelling on, now will be acclaimed and commended. It gives me hope to see how beautiful the minds of the 21st century can be and the potential that is so untapped. Finally someone will let us out of our metaphorical cages and step into the limelight where big things could happen as a result and effect as well as affect us all.
The resources will be the biggest asset the producers have to offer these minds and could be a doorway for endorsements of all kinds. The skepticisms are mainly how such a show can charm and bait American audiences, because when it comes down to it, they might flick the channel to watch who hooks up with who or who "smooches" who with what kind of hair gel. Thats the real crime. I hope this show takes off and represents a part of culture that has long been dismissed as juvenile and immature. There is a market for this and it needs to be exploited the right way.
