I've always been really into video game music... more so than regular music, really. Since tend to like the tunes so much and listening to them over and over again, I sometimes want to enhance the old ones. It's kind of a hobby for when I'm bored. While there's something novel about old 16-bit and especially 8-bit music, the sound quality isn't exactly the best or anything. For that reason, I try to synthesize the music to something that sounds slightly higher in quality. My attempts are kind of hit-or-miss, but I thought I'd share at least some of the ones I feel came out better.

I'll try to keep this going by posting a new song (as in new to the site, not necessarily just made) every day.

9/29: Sonic 1 - Green Hill Zone
9/30: Mega Man 3 - Boss
10/1: Castlevania - Vampire Killer

EDIT: Didn't realize I couldn't post another song if no one else has posted since my last post, so I guess I'm stuck editing this post unless the thread becomes more active.

If you indeed made this then it's very good my only problem and it's mainly just a personal preference is that the backing track/music too loud apart from that I love it

Keep up the good work!

Thanks. I know I have problems determining track volumes. I hear that a lot as feedback, but am never sure how to better balance it. Usually I'm told the backing tracks are too low and get drowned out by the main melody. I guess I overdid it in the reverse this time?

I kind of do the opposite of what you do. I take songs and make them sound more retro- like. Many times though I combine soundfonts using a program called Synthfont to change the way it sounds. I posted one on youtube and plan on posting more (instead of doing what I've been doing, I suggest not watching my older vids) remixes.

but yours are great though, keep working at it!

DrakPokeMaster : Oh, I've done that too. I once made a Persona 3 song sound like it was made for the Genesis. That was really interesting...

I've also made some NES remixes of music here and there.

Actually come to think of it, my best friend remixes music and video game music. He's pretty cool and he's even been offered money from some of his works but i dont know if he sells any.

Crazy Li : I'm really in love with video game music as well, there's a chrono trigger remake for the corridors of time on youtube thats good, I can't stand when people ruin classic game music by turning into dubstep or metal rock though
