Nowadays, there are a crapton of programs that can play music. Some people download their music and play it direct from their computers. Other people use Youtube or places like Playlist.com.

For me - I try to rip all of my music and play it directly from my computer through Windows Media Center. It's less taxing on my computer and I don't have to worry about Youtube fail-loading or Playlist.com not having all the music that I want.

So how do you listen to your music?

I listen to my music on my Caanoo. It is a Korean hand held system that can also let you play games on it, watch movies, read online books . . .etc. I only listen to music on there because I had to sell my I-pod for extra money at the time. I will eventually get a I-pod back cause the battery life on the Caanoo does not last long so I can't listen to my music for a very long period of time. I also burn CD's and listen to music on my radio set whenever I want to hear it really loud or whenever I don't feel like having headphones in my ear.

cnw64 : That honestly sounds *almost* like my Kindle. However, my Kindle has a forever-lasting battery. Since I have the Kindle 3, it can't watch movies... but I can read books, listen to music, and play games. If I upgraded to the Kindle Fire, I could also watch movies. Have you considered possibly getting the Kindle? It's bigger than an Ipod but it is cheaper and thinner.

shinymaster990 : Oh, nice. I have my music added to the Sims files to play instead of the game music but most of the time it is just easier to run Windows Media Center in the background. (Especially being that my laptop can actually support that.)

Ktanaqui : I never thought I would need a Kindle but I should consider getting one since you said it is cheap and can do most to some of the stuff the Caanoo can. I can look it up to see if I would use and buy it. It may have to do before I can get my hands on a I-Pod or something even better yet expensive.

It varies.

Often times I'll use Youtube, or rip the music I want, and listen to it using VLC media player.

Other times I'll listen to the music on the TV (I've got like 30 music channels)

And sometimes I'll put the music on my PS3, and just listen to it on there, since the audio on the TV is a lot better.

cnw64 : Well, my Kindle's battery lasts forever. Literally. I only have to charge it like once a week, if I use it every day. So if you need battery, it is epic on that.

legacyme3 : See, I couldn't summon you to let you know that I had to reply because you posted right before me... and summoning doesn't work with edits. So you had to wait for a reply! ()

Okay, so. More seriously. I have VLC Media Player but I don't actually use it as often since my Windows Media Center works from both my laptop and my 360. My VLC only ever gets to play movies. Poor VLC. As far as TV music... yeah, my parents don't pay for *that* much Cable. So, unfortunately, we don't get those channels. Otherwise, I would totally troll them all day long.

cnw64 : Here's the Kindle Fire: http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Fire-LCD-Display-Wi-Fi/dp/B0083Q04IQ/ref=sr_tr_sr_3?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1347942219&sr=1-3&keywords=Kindle+Fire

It's barely cheaper. My Kindle 3, however, was only $80. But again, it can't play movies. The Kindle Fire, I think, is a good investment since you do get everything. On a bigger screen.

Ktanaqui :

I only pay this much for cable because it's the only effective way to watch the Red Sox. lol It's literally the channel AFTER the cutoff for the basic package. And the Red Sox were the only reason I wanted cable.

I use VLC more for anime than music, but I give it more use than any other application on my computer save for my browsers and Steam.

I enjoy VLC, and I like that updates occasionally come out that make it a little more effective, although most people won't notice any real difference.

Ktanaqui : After reading more information on the Kindle Fire it actually does a lot more than the Caanoo does. If I remember I think the Caanoo was around the same exact price when I brought it new. I might be able to get this for reading purposes and not only music. Depends if I have money left over from buying 2 New York Comic Con tickets next week.

There are a few ways I listen to music.

I have an Iphone so I sometimes listen to music on the Ipod if I'm outdoors.

While home, I often listen to the radio (Z100, KTU, 105.1) are my favorite radio stations because they play a variety of music and have few "commercials."

If I'm online, I only use Youtube as a music provider so I can listen to and watch music videos!

Usually music download sites like "Kazaa & Limewire" for example are full of viruses, so I obviously don't use them.

legacyme3 : I do not believe I have updated my VLC since I originally downloaded it... Ah well, it still works fine for my purposes.

cnw64 : Oh, really? I haven't actually read the details of what my Kindle can do - much less the new editions.

YourMajestyKen : You actually have radio stations with few commercials still? I wish I did. Have you thought of just ripping your music from Youtube itself?

I listen to music through youtube. My laptop is junky and I use all of the disk space for video games, leaving me with no space to download and save songs on my laptop. This makes youtube ideal for me, it just stinks the rare times my ISP is messing up and my internet is down, no music for me.

Without reading your OP and just reading the thread title "How do you listen to your music?" I was going to jump in this thread and say REALLY LOUD!! But I guess that wasn't the question at hand

Seriously though sometimes I listen to music so loud with headphones that I probably should watch out that I don't hurt my hearing.

I also listen to music in my car, but usually the radio because I haven't had the time recently to get a good collection of CDs going, and I try to not spend a lot of time driving because gas is expensive!

If I'm not using my mp3 player, I'll play it on my computer through Media Player Classic. Best player I've ever used... but I still prefer my mp3 player because I can just set it to shuffle and listen to whatever at random in my VGM collection... or narrow it down to a specific series or composer if I'm in the mood for something specific. I can get the same effect on my computer technically, but it's a lot more work to do. Easier to just hook up my mp3 player to some speakers and listen.

I usually purchase my music off of Amazon.Com or the mall a few blacks from where I live. I'm kind of an old fashioned guy in that I like to own a physical copy of the music or movie (Or even game), but I'm also not the kind of person who purchases blindly. I usually listen to something on Youtube before going out and buying. Of course I don't think there's a problem with downloading or anything like that. I do play games on Vizzed after all, but to me there's something rewarding about holding a jewel case containing a CD that I bought. Its kinda hard to explain.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
