we had to dissect a owl pellet: owl barf . we had to find each and every bone and we have to reassemble the animal the owl ate mostly rats and other small birds. We had a choice to use some gloves others had used that day or use our bare hands and about a lil more than a half used gloves me and my friends didn't we used our bare hands. the strange thing was that one girl looked like she was about to be sick. I don't understand why.

I love biology. And disecting a pig is nothing! Actually it is quite facinating to see how closely their organs resemble ours... which is why Mythbusters use them so much. The only one that ever got me was the eyeball, it was just creepy. I was able to handle it when I did it again in college though.

I think that what you did with the owl pellet was really cool. I think you should have been required to wear gloves for sanitary reasons, but other than that I think it was a great learning experience because not only were you learning about the diet of owls but also about skeletal structures of smaller mammals.

Yeah, all we dissected in High School was a Frog and a Squid.
Oh, and we did do Owl pellets back in Middle School.
And there isn't a need for gloves, those things are thoroughly sanitized before they're sold to Biology.
