The Bible is the only thing in the Universe I can completely  trust. The Bible reveals God to us, so yes, I take it very literally. As far as interpretations and denominations go, that's another topic. Man's mistakes don't make the Bible less trustworthy.

How literally do I take the Bible?

I Would like to say that it really is the perfect word of the one true GOD But there are so many areas where there are questions such as the many denominations, the Catholic Church and  that all say they follow the same version of the Bible and if you spend a bit of time reading the different versions you can clearly see that Humans can easily manipulate or misunderstand the translation of Bible.

That Being Said I Believe the message shines through GOD exists GOD sent our lord Jesus the Christ in order that we could be reconciled and GOD sends us the Holy Spirit so that we know what he wants to say.

I think the Church of Jesus Christ of later day saints sum it up best I believe in the Bible as far as it is translated correctly and since I have no Idea how to speak or read any language other then English I need to trust that The Holy Spirit Guides me to the right words

I see the original post was made way back in the beginning of last year already, but the topic popped up at (almost) the top of the list again, so I'll contribute I absolutely believe the bible is the divinely inspired, authoritative, trustworthy Word of God, which was written by men yes, but who were led by the Holy Spirit to write the words they wrote.  I'm not going to comment again on previous posts since it was made "ages" ago and play4fun has basically done most of the work for me  Nice job.  Here, have some virtual Viz.
A bit OT but I just want to throw a comment out there which was made by an ex-atheist.  As a true believer in Christ, this made a lot of sense to me and gave me some insight on why a non-believer in Christ / atheist have such a hostile reaction towards God / bible / Christianity in general. I quote:
"Can I tell you why I think that you deny God?  I think that the freedom to believe and live the way that you want, is so important to you that the thought of someone being in charge of this whole thing and having a standard that He is going to hold you accountable to, is just way too much for you to want to submit yourself to, because that means it might put a wet blanket on some of the things that you want to do."
