When I first played Super Mario Galaxy, I was immediately hooked. It was such a fantastic game, and the sound track was marvelous. The game play was extensive, and there really was no way for you to not have fun

Don't get me wrong, other Mario games are not bad either, but I am more drawn into the 3D aspect of Mario, and more specifically, the galaxy series.

It's a very close call. But I would say 3D. I really liked Mario 64, Galaxy, and Sunshine. Mainly because I thought it was an awesome break from the normal side scrollers (Which I do love). I loved just messing around with the wing cap in Mario 64.

My pick for my favorite has to be the Side Scrolling because that is pretty much my pick, the reason why is that the side scrolling Mario games are the ones I grew up mostly and that's why they're my favorite.

I prefer the 3D games. Two of my favorite Mario games are Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. I like that you can go and explore different areas, rather than just walking down a straight path.

If you would have asked me last year I would of said the 2d platformers that is until I played Super Mario RPG for the first time and I fell in love with the game. In my opinion that game alone beats out the rest, I also enjoyed the Paper Mario and Mario and Luigis games as well.

The Super Mario World series of games was amazing for the SNES. 

I like both 1 and 2 even though they are very diverse.

The first one really did it for me. Everything just seemed right. The level design was great, you could set up for some amazing 1 up bonuses from kill combos.
