hi guys yup its sunday and boring as usual so heres another topic to keep us a tad bit occupied for a few seconds i'll start us off

I work at BigLots which is like a family store where merchandise is sold such as every day items like food, furniture, home appliances, cleaning agents, pet items.My primary job descriptions are putting up merchandise in their respective areas throughout the store, assisting customers with their purchases or returns, a.k.a. customer service cleaning up the store if its messed up which is referred as recovery and thats about it. The pay sucks lol but its a job so i cant complain

I'm a student and don't currently have time for a job. I'll get one over the summer somewhere, though

Currently doing 3rd year uni (computer science in games technology) which means i'll be making video games next year.

Currently working at mcdoanlds, and while some laugh and go, ha, burger flipper! Im actualy on a hourly rate of AU$20 which is outstanding really .

Also, i work night/close shift. Meaning i usualy start at 10pm, clean/cook/make stuff untill 1am when the store shuts, then we have to finish cleaning everything and setting up for morning people, so we usualy get out about 2-3am.

OMG there's no way you work at McDonalds! What in the heck... your wayyyyyy to over qualified to be there lol.

I work no where I mean I got a few online businesses but none have me getting full time incomes yet. I got GYR, SMDIMAGES, and soon Magnum Directory which I hope to make a living off of.

Well I also freelance web dev, but thats not really a job job.. is it?

If you make money off it then it is, I guess if it was "full time" it would be considered a real job.

Currently: stay at home dad - because I can.

Future: accountant. That's what I went to school for and it's going to be a good paying job and I'll be able to go in to nearly any field I want so I will rarely be lacking for job opportunities.

Cool BigBob your gonna rock at making games, i hope you make some RPGs since thats my favorite type of game and theres nothing wrong with where you work at, at least you have a job making money so more power to ya brotha and sir geeogree i wish you best of luck with the Accountant Career, I'm sure you'll succeed. See going to school pays off in the long run hey jiggy(jigsaw) i hope your online businesses pick up soon so you can be rolling in the money sonny and to the zigster(ziggy), kick butt in school getting straight A's Now i just need to decide if i wanna become a computer tech or a virtual developer

TY Zhoutai you should become a developer there is lots you can do and no limits, just look at what Bob has taught us BTW what games do you want to make BigBob? Please make a FPS

yea i was thinking about getting certified in virtual development. I've seen alot of flash games on the net and it inspires you in a way to want to be able to make games yourself

I'm looking for a job still. If I don't find one soon I'm screwed.

I applied at Big Lots, in addition to about 15 other places.

I hope you find something soon rocksome, just stay positive 1 of those jobs will call you up for an interview soon just keep positive and keep trying.

JigSaw & zhoutai, i really dont care what I make, so long as im making something .

rocksome, dont give up, my first job was a pig farmer. Picking up dead pigs and whatnot. Then i was a powder coater, got treated like a dog by our boss. Then I worked at a dyecasting factory, was an awesome job.
Now im at mcdonalds and its quite possibly the best place i've worked at so far.

Just start small and build up .
I'd definatly look into mcdonalds, could even become manager which is a real ++ on a resume for getting a better job further down the line.

I've had one job before. My first job was at GameStop. That was awesome. I'd love to work there again except they don't give nearly enough hours. It would be nice if I could get two jobs that were able to pay for what I need and eventually I could get promoted enough at GameStop that I could actually get good pay and hours there, haha.

None of the GameStops around here are hiring, though. I got lucky with that summer job I had at one in 2007. I might still apply at some point once they'll be more in need of employees. They still have a lot of their seasonal people around now. My main idea with working at GameStop, though, is that there's this really awesome game store in Austin I'd love to work at some day. They want a lot of retail experience though, and I'd be cool with working at GameStop until I could work there. 'Course, I'd also have to be back in Austin for that, which will be a long time from now.

My actual dream job is librarian, though.

I am at the point where I'm not counting out food service jobs. I'll apply at burger joints if I have to. I need money, if I don't like the job, it will be good to have until I can find one I will prefer.

So who knows, I could wind up at a McDonald's or something in a couple weeks.

Once I get back to school I'll be back on track for librarian though. :3

I'm a 3/4 time student trying to get a nursing degree. I work at Barnes & Noble (a bookstore for you Aussies ) part time. School + part time work = 50+ hours of work and studying per week. I might get promoted at work and have to work full time. w00t. I'd be glad to have a raise in this economy where it's harder than ever to get a job.
